Chapter 37 - Kadis
I struggle against the compulsion to tell Jane the truth when she yells questions at me. She has an Archon’s aura! I thought that her ability was one of defense. If I used my aura on her, it would bounce the effects back at me. But I haven’t used it around her since that first time. Luckily, Michael stepped in front of me and the feeling dramatically lessened. I don’t even think she knows what she is doing. Not only that, it is strong, really strong. I think if I was any less powerful, I would have answered immediately. Michael answers in my stead and distracts her, which in turn completely dissipated the aura. She’s now sitting at the table, trying to come to terms with Michael’s confession. I actually admire him, he can throw off the pretense of being human. I wish I could, but the way
