Chapter Six: Manya

Finally after 3 hours I'm in a dressing room trying clothes on. Ace keeps bringing me silly clothes to try on and we laugh and he tells me what he thinks looks good and what he doesn't, and it was actually really fun. "Ace are you ready?!" I ask still laughing from the last outfit he brought me, but he doesn't answer. I peek my head out the door but he isn't there. I go back into the dressing room and put my clothes back on and strain to see if I can see Ace. I can't though. I walk out of the dressing room and what I see makes me stop in my tracks. Ace is standing in the corner of the store and there is a very attractive blonde girl and she's all over him. I go to just leave figuring that it is Ace's girlfriend that he had left behind. I look over one last time and see a wallet lying on the ground I pick it up and open it to see whose it was. It was Ace’s and sitting in a pocket was a picture of Ace and the girl who is with him now, yup must be his girlfriend. I pick up my purse and see that a credit card in my name is also in Ace’s wallet I take it and put the wallet back on a table. I grab all the clothes I want and walk up to the register. I look back at Ace one more time while the lady is ringing up my clothes. My mistake, Ace is looking at me with sad eyes as he is saying something to girl. Then she turns around and looks at me. She isn't quite as pretty as I thought though so that makes me feel better. I look back at the cashier as she tells me the total. "It will be $675.65." My eyes get wide and I look at my two bags. "Ar-are you sure?" The cashier looks at me, "Yes I'm sure." She gets kind of sassy but I ignore her and hand her the card. She looks at it then her eyes get huge. "Are Michael King’s sister?" She asks amazed. "Yes?" As I'm saying this though I get pushed to the floor. "What the hell?" I look up and see the blonde girl Ace was with standing over me. "You b***h! You think you can just show up in this town and start flirting with my man?" She ask me. I look at her confused. "Excuse me?" I'm so confused by what she is saying. "You are shopping with my boyfriend? Ace? He is mine!" She is screaming. I stand up and take my card back to the cashier. "Thank you," I say to her. "You are not going to ignore me?” The blonde girl goes to shove me again and something in me snaps. I grab her arm before she can touch me. "I don't recommend you touch me again? And also if Ace was your boyfriend why would he come here with me and not tell you? I think that you are just a jealous b***h who has no life," I tighten my grip on her hand and she whimpers. "Now if you want to continue a fight you will lose go ahead." I let her arm go and thank the cashier one more time then go and get in the car. As soon as I shut the door Ace is getting in the car also. "Manya listen I'm not dating Becky. I promise she is just crazy and thought we was dating at one point." All the words came out of his mouth in a rush. I look at him. "We are late for lunch with your mom, let's just go I want to get this over with and go home." I look at him and I can feel tears welling up behind my eyes. I have liked Ace since I first literally ran into him at the store, and now I find out that the two kisses we shared and the fun we had meant nothing to him I was just another girl to him. I look away from him scared that he will see the tears. 

The car ride to Ace’s mom’s house was quiet. I was trying to keep the tears back and Ace looked like he was just thinking. Isabella met us at the door and she could tell something was wrong but she didn't push the subject, and I'm glad. After dinner I say I am going on a walk, and after much protesting from Ace and his family I leave. I have made my mind up that I'm just going to walk home, I don't want to be in a car with Ace again. I don't even know why I thought he liked me, he was just hanging around me because of Michael. Why did it upset me to find out that he had a girlfriend, it shouldn't, I haven't known him that long. As I'm walking it gets dark and I decided that I should stop and rest for a minute and try and get my bearings. I find a large tree and sit down, but soon I am drifting off. I wake up and it is pitch black. Great. I stand up and brush the grass and dirt off of my butt and start walking again. 

What feels like ages finally a large jeep comes rolling up behind me. "Hey, do you need a ride?" I can't see the person driving but I say yes anyway. How dangerous can someone be who lives here. I climb into the jeep and the guy turns the light on. He is a very good looking guy with black hair and almost neon green eyes, like my corvette Ace bought me. No Manya bad don't think about him. "My name is Toby, and you?" "Manya." I say trying not to blush. I have not ever really talked to a good looking guy before Ace and this guy. "Nice to meet you”he smiles." "Same to you", I say blushing an even brighter shade of red. "So where to malady", he says in a goofy voice that makes me laugh. "I'm not sure what it's called, I only recently moved here from the states." "Ah, I could tell that you was from the states you have a weird accent." He laughs and it makes Me laugh.  "And you don't?!" I ask laughing even harder. Finally the laughing dies down. "Okay well since you don't know the address then who's house? I know pretty much everyone." "Uh, Michael King’s house." The guy turns to me. "You're staying at the King estate?" I look forward as the jeep starts to move. "Yup that's my new home." He looks at me again and cleares his throat. "So what's your last name,mine is Black." I look at him then back at the road. "It's King." The rest of the ride was quiet until we pull up to the gate leading to the property, all the lights are on and there are people running about. Toby presses the button on the call box and a voice comes over. "King estate who is this?" "My name is Toby Black and I am bringing Ms.King home." He says this in a very business like tone but no one replies the large gate just opens. "I'm sure your brother is very worried”, Toby says as we slowly drive up the driveway. I look at him, "Yeah maybe, we will see." I say looking straight forward. When we get close to the main house every light is on and people are running around like crazy. As soon as the jeep stops the door to the jeep opens and I am yanked out, I didn't even have time to scream. "Manya what the hell was you thinking?! You can’t run away like that I was so worried! I was about to send out a search party!" Mike squeezes me even harder. "Mike. Can't. Breath." I choke out and he eases up some but not much. "Please don't do that again though, I just got you back." I hug Mike back thinking about the nightmares I used to have about him leaving. Everything stops though when I hear someone yelling. I push away from Mike and look at where the yelling is coming from. Ace is dragging Toby out of the jeep. I run over and push Ace off of Toby. "What are you doing?", I yell and everyone goes quiet. Ace looks at me his eyes glowing a ice blue. "He saved me, you will let him go,” I seeth, getting more and more angry. Ace drops Toby and Toby stands up and dust himself off. "Thank you Manya", Toby says as he kisses my cheek. Then he walks off and leaves me and a angry growling Ace. Me and Ace stand there having a stare down as Mikey makes everyone leave. "You two inside now, I want to know what happened." Mike says almost father like. I turn, already claimed down, and follow Mike with Ace right on my heels. Once inside we all sit down in the living room. "Okay who is going to talk first?" I sit up straight and tell Mike everything that happened, but I didn't make it all the way through the story because I started crying talking about Ace and that girl. I don't want them to see me cry so I run to my room.
