The unexpected mate

Chapter 2 The loyal Blue Moon pack

Meanwhile in the Blue Moon pack. Hello I'm Alpha Michael Ryder Johnson and I am 23 years old and I have a 20 year old sister whose name is Carlee Daisy Johnson she is our pack healer my parents are former alpha Gabriel Allen Johnson and former luna Brooke Bella Johnson, and my Beta is Mateo Leeroy Smith and he is 23 years old.

We are the Blue Moon pack. With about 1500 pack members. About 150 of those pack members are guardians , about 300 of them are warriors. Then you have your elderly and children and women round about maybe 600. And the rest are all young men and women. We all start to train to protect ourselves and the pack at a young age. We have a very large four story pack house which usually houses the younger lycans that just turned and have not found their mate yet. It keeps the young female lycans safe because they come into a heat that drives the male lycans crazy.

The pack house has a lower basement that is made into like a bunker for a safe place for the elderly , children and women. When we say women we are referring to those that have children and or are pregnant cause some of our warriors are women. This bunker-like thing is only used when we are under attack. Attacks don't happen often but it's better to be safe than sorry. But around the outer part of the pack house there are individual little houses for if there is a family that does not want to live in the pack house they can live in their own home but still within distance of the pack house for safety. And all around the outer perimeter of the pack house and the family homes we have a huge gigantic fence. The fence is wrought iron fencing it's elegant yet sturdy. It is around about 50 to 100 acres within the fence.

I have not found my mate yet. Which is the pack Luna. And Mateo has yet to find his mate. On our mates our wolf for sure senses them but we have to be 18 years old or older to sense them. Their smell is like no other smell. Your mates smell will drive your wolf wild. Your wolf wants nothing more than to be with their mate. The feeling you get when you and your mate touch is unbelievable you feel like an electrical current is running between the two of you. Myself and my wolf Adolph have been looking forward to meeting our mate. But we are getting older and at times we feel we will never find her. The same goes for Mateo and his wolf Ardolf they are getting older and we are not sure what will happen if we never find her. For it is unheard of to not find the mate.

It's been about three days since we had our pack hunt and I initiate it the same way that I do with our pack runs , with a howl. And many howls fill the night air. With the pack hunt the howling lasts quite a while. The howling will continue until each pack member gets their prey then they will stop. It's coming to the time that we will do our monthly run as a pack. To explain what we do during our pack run we all gathered together I initiate the run with a howl and we head out into the woods shifting as we go and we run to our hearts content. We are all lycans. So when we shift into our wolves all of our senses become more superior , than that of our human side. And not to mention we can talk telepathically with one another in wolf form. The evening air is filled with howls. As everyone is so excited to be able to run and let loose their wolf. This is the time we are able to let our wolves have their way and just let them have full control. The only other times we let our wolves have full control is on the pack hunt and if there happens to be a war that we have to fight in.

We all scattered to the wind going on multiple sides of the property. We have a large spread of land , over a thousand acres not really sure. This is not the hunting run but there are a few of us that will hunt for we will be out till dawn. At dawn we will head back to the pack house and turn in for a few hours sleep and then get back on the daily routine. My guardians stay close to the elderly , children and the women to maintain pack safety. While the warriors stay on the outskirts of the pack to keep the safety

We have been out running for several hours and the howls have long stopped. When one of my warriors mind link me. "Alpha we have Intruders in the area. We smell them , what do you want us to do". "Don't stray too far from the pack but look for them and see what we are up against but don't alert them that we know they are here." I mind link back. "Ok Blue moon pack make your way back to the pack house slow and steady."I mind link to the pack.

We had not made it too far , when the blood curdling howl broke through the night air. Everyone Froze in their spot awaiting the word of what to do. Just a few seconds later my link connected. "Alpha were being attacked. On the south side closest to Clovelly. We have a few injured. What do you want us to do." My warrior said through the mind link. I mind link to the whole pack "Retreat back to the pack House women , children and elderly go to the bunker in the pack house and lock down the pack house. Guardians stay with them to keep them safe." I head to my warriors to help in the battle with my dad the former Alpha Gabriel Allen Johnson hot on my heels to give a hand in the battle my mother former Luna Brook Bella Johnson had gone in with the elders , children and women to the bunker. She still plays the role of a mother-like figure over the pack as Luna until I find my mate and make her the Luna.

As myself and my dad make it to the South side where we're being attacked we come to a gruesome site. Many lycans on both sides are either injured or dead not sure which we'll have to go through all that once we get this over with. "Report to me what we have." I mind link to my warriors. "We have rogues attacking Alpha. It all happened so suddenly sir. We have a lot of casualties , Alpha. But we're holding our own at this time." My warrior mind links back to me. " Mateo, me and my Dad are here where are you at." I mind link Mateo. "I am further down south Alpha. Around where it all began. We are being hit hard." Mateo linked back to me. Just as I'm about to mind link Mateo again two rogues come running at me and Gabriel we both turn to our opponent and rip out their throat all you can hear is the gurgling as we drop them to the ground. "Alright Mateo we are on our way to hold on a little longer." I say to Mateo through the mind link.

We make it a little bit farther. When four lycans come out of nowhere. Three of them head to Gabriel and one to me. I'm battling the one and the three are getting the better of Gabriel. I managed to snap my opponent's neck and I started making my way to Gabriel but I'm too late. Two of them come from different sides one scratches along his neck real deep gashes and the other scratching across his chest. Deep as well. "No" I scream. All I see is red. I kill the two that killed Gabriel. I stalk toward the third one and kill him. I head to Mateo taking down rogues as I go. As I reach Mateo. I see that Mateo is being overcome by four rogues. I come up and I take two off his hands. Leaving him two , finally as we get the four down another wave comes through. The battle goes on till we kill every last one or so we thought. "Looks like we got them all." I mind link back to my warriors. "Alpha one got away. We don't know where he went , we are trying to track him down now. We do have one held prisoner to interrogate to find out what Pack they are from and the name of the alpha." A warrior says through to my link. "Well two warriors take him to the pack prison where Myself and Mateo will interrogate him. And the rest of us will gather our injured and dead." I mind link back. "Alpha we have lost about 50 people and many are injured badly. We will take them all to the pack house to prepare for burial. And give care to the injured." A warrior says through the link. Now I must find a way to tell my Mom that Dad is gone.
