The unexpected mate

Chapter 4 The mate

When me and Mateo get to our warriors we follow the smell of human blood we come up upon a gruesome sight as the lycan we are tracking is slashing what looks like a woman across the chest , her face and her legs and continuously slashing at her chest and abdomen , she is not screaming so she is either dead or passed out. He sees us and he drops the woman and runs. I mind link one of my healers and giving directions to where we are for the woman. As I walk toward the woman , the most wonderful smell I have ever smelled hits me , it smells like roses and fresh rain. My wolf Adolph starts pacing , in my head he is trying hard to get out. "Mate, our mate is here." Adolph says. "Our Mate where is she." I say to Adolph.

Follow the scent and we will find her. "Adolph says and goes to the back of the mind to watch. So I continue toward the sweetest smell I have ever smelled. I continue to walk when I realize that the smell is coming from the injured woman. I see red , my mate is on the brink of death and Adolph takes over.

"Carlee we have a wounded human woman located not far from the old abandoned sawmill. She was attacked by a rogue. She has wounds on her chest , face , legs and abdomen. She may be dead." Michael mind links me. So I grabbed my medical bag and headed towards the old abandoned sawmill. Once I got to the women I noticed that she is unconscious and I give her anesthesia and quickly went to work and started suturing her wounds and doctoring her with some German chamomile which is good for it's healing properties and helps also with the inflammation of the wounds which will work quite well for her in the shape that she's in right now.

After I got her stable , my assistants and myself moved her to our pack infirmary. When we got her in a room and hooked up on IV for antibiotics and the monitors for her vitals I double checked her wounds that is when I noticed that she was bleeding again. So I went to work to figure out why she was bleeding again. I examined the wound and found out that the rogue had hit a artery on the side of her neck so I must open the wound back up and fix the artery to stop the bleeding. Now we wait and see how she does as the lycan takes over her , it will take around about 2 to 3 weeks to take over. She will have to come too so we can explain what she will be happening to her as time goes by.

I go back to the nurse's desk. "Micheal we have got her stable and being treated. She had passed out and I have given anesthesia and took care of the wounds. We moved her to the infirmary and got her hooked up on IV antibiotics and monitors. I had to reopen a wound that I had stitched in the woods that I did not catch that an artery was hit in the attack. But I have her stitched up now and no bleeding." I mind linked Micheal.

With my lycan Adolph still in charge we continue to search for the rogue for a bit longer but to no avail. Adolph decides that he would rather be with our mate while she is recovering from her attack. We have tracked the rogue for about 10 miles and his scent is fading and Adolph is getting agitated we call off the search for now and head to the pack house.

Adolph is anxious and worried about our mate , "She looked so bad the last time we saw her" Adolph says. "but she will be fine the lycan will take over and will heal her." I tell Adolph. He calmed down a bit but still on edge. Not finding the rogue did not help at all. We will find him and make him pay for what he did to her. He will feel the pain that she had to endure and then some , he will feel pain that no human can, only a lycan can feel.

"Warriors we are turning around heading back to the pack house. So we can check on our wounded and bury our dead warriors." I say to my warriors. We turn and start our way back to the pack house we have about a 20 mile or so hike to get to the pack house , but with our speed it won't take long to get there. We run , for a lot of us have family members that are either injured or dead. We make the run in under 30 minutes. Before I go check on our mate , I must go break the news to my mom that dad was killed in the attack. And tell her that we will train and find and kill the ones that did this as soon as our wounded heal and we bury our dead.

We will track down the rogue that did this to my pack and family and if I was being honest he may come back to finish what he had started and also to kill the girl he attacked. We will defend our mate and Luna that beast will not get her.

I hear a slit buzz and a beep of a machine and I hear voices but I cannot make out what they are saying. I feel a Iv in the back of my hand , I try to open my eyes but it's like I am stuck in my own body and I can't open them. The voices I heard are getting closer I can make out some of what they are saying but not all. Someone walks into where I am and I hear a chair slide across the floor and the creak of a chair as someone sits down in it. A while later someone walks in and I hear them ask the person in my room how I was doing. He replies " She is the same, but the healing has accelerated. She may wake up in a day or two." "Son keep me updated on how she is doing." "I will mom" "Please wake up I need and want you. Wake up , don't give up." Says the man sitting beside me. Why is he wanting me to wake up it makes no sense.

But the odd thing is that I smell the best smell in my life , it smells like cedar and honeysuckle oh my I can't ignore the smell it smells so amazing. And when someone touches my hand I feel tingles that go all through my body , what is wrong with me I don't understand.

I hope someone will explain what is going on when I am able to open my eyes. But when will I be able to open my eyes and not be stuck in my own body. This is all so confusing the smell , the tingles that I feel what is wrong with me. And another thing is even though I can't open my eyes at this time I feel so strange, my hearing seems to be enhancing and my sense of smell is also enhancing. I can hear the smallest of creatures which I could not hear before, I can smell a woman's perfume from down the hall. I feel strong so why can't I open my eyes or move. I feel something stur in my head what is it. It's like it is loopy. I hear something groan but nothing is said. So I dismiss it as I am hearing things. cause the only person who has been sitting with me has left.
