The echo of the gunshot still rang through the collapsing tunnel. Dust filled the air, thick and suffocating, making it hard to see who had fallen. My heart pounded against my ribs as I reached out blindly in the darkness. “Daniel!” I shouted, coughing. “Adrian! Claire!” The tunnel trembled again, stones crashing from above.
