Chapter 38

The messages are what freaked him out. Are those kinds of messages normal? To tell your peer woman that you missing them, in just short period of time? He gulped and deleted the answered call from Gab, so Sofia would not suspect him. He put her phone back to her bag and stared at his clenching fists. He has to do something about it, he does not want Gab get what she needed to the innocent Sofia. He has to check her always. She’s too gullible. If she cannot take care of herself from that kind of abusive human, then Demire will do it for her. He was not surprise when Sofia went back on his room. She got her sweats all over her face, neck and arms. “This is what I got, just pain killer.” She showed her what he got from some staffs on the lobby. “They are out of anti-inflammation medicine, but they promised me they will get some for me.” She walked towards the mini kitchen. She filled a glass with water and went back in front of him. “Here, take this.” She handed him the medicine and the glass of water. Demire looked at the medicine. He does not in need of any medicine, he cannot believe he fooled Sofia that way. He shook his head and held her hand. “I’ll drink it later.” She’s the most innocent woman I ever met. I must protect her from now on. “Why? I thought you’re hurt—” She was cut off when he yanked her and locked her in his arms. I won’t let that woman name Gab hurt you because of her possession. “Pain vanished when I saw you. Why are you so sweat?” Sofia felt so safe in his arms, she wanted to stay like this with him. “I-I didn’t use elevator because I’m in hurry, I thought you cannot take the pain anymore.” He chuckled because of her answer. That was the stupidest answer he ever heard from her. Aside from the wound is such little and slowly healing now, he cannot believe she used her feet to go down the lobby because she thought he was hurt. That was the funniest thing he heard but he felt so worried about Sofia. Her innocence was taking advantage of Gab. He cannot believe it. She does not deserve it. Gab was pretending to be good to her and won to get her heart by pretending she was a good friend. “You’re crazy, Sofia. Let’s stay like this for more minutes.” He grabbed her doubted hands and placed it on his back. Took her head on his chest and hugged her tighter. He smiled when she hugged him back. He’s slowly getting use to it. He wanted this hug forever. They had forgotten everything for a while. They stayed on a hug, until Demire felt her breath getting deep. It took more minutes when her hands fell down on her back, signed that she fell on sleep. He slowly parted her to him and stared at her beautiful face. She is so beautiful and there is no way to deny it. Her beauty is what captured his heart the first time he saw her, it’s what next to her genuine blood that captured his thirst and his fangs. “I don’t know why, but you mean everything to me now, I want to protect you, I want to stay with you.” He’s doubting his feeling and there is a bit confusion inside him. “Should I fight this feeling now? And sip your blood just what my intention from the first place?” He kissed her forehead and stood up carrying her on his arms and laid her on his bed. Gazing at her beautiful and angelic face. This innocent woman sleeping in front of him, is the woman that slowly changing the cold-hearted devil inside him. He sat on the edge of the bed, kept staring at her and setting some strands of hair blocking her face to the back of her ear. Suddenly he remembered Gab. He stood up and walked back on the center table, took her phone and read more conversation of Sofia with that woman. His eyes glued to one message that seemed Sofia did not notice because there is no reply she sent on that message. "What the fvck is wrong with this woman?" He gulped.  Gab: I can't sleep, Sofia, I'm missing your apartment. Can I sleep there again?   That message is what made him with gritted teeth. “What does it mean? Is she sleeping on her apartment?” He tried to remember if there is any scenario that is connected to this message and that he suddenly remembered the time, when the moon was full and the devil inside him was roaring to get out of his body. He went to see Sofia to show her what he had but he stopped himself. On the top of their roof where he stayed, he smelled Sofia’s blood and other two woman inside their small apartment. Now, he believed that Gab’s blood is one of the two he smelled. “You are playing so ridiculous. I should have known about it since the first time I accepted you inside the company.” Demire has the power to smell human’s intention, this way he can avoid being attached with some human that has bad intention about him. “You won’t win this stupid game of yours. I swear.” He smirked.  When Sofia groaned, he took the phone back to the bag and walked back near her. She turned facing the left corner of the room and he saw a smile on her lips. That was a cute smile. That made him smile too and forgotten about Gab.
