He sat on the floor in front of her. “I already showered my wound. It’s not aching anyway. Do you still need to check it?”
Sofia didn’t answer him and took out a cotton ball and a wound cleansing product inside the medicine kit. Applied a small amount of cleansing product on the cotton ball and gently put it down his wounded elbow. “How does it feel? Is there any pain?” Sofia looked at his eyes while taking care of the small wound at the back of his upper limb. It was just a small slit and nothing serious about it, but it turned out to be serious because of her stupid concern.
Demire chuckled and wagged his head. “It’s not that serious, Sofia, stop it.” He’s enjoying watching her. She looks really concern about her and this was just the first time that someone gave him this kind of concern. A smile formed to his lips. “Thanks, but you don’t have to do this, I’m not injured, in fact I can do it.” Besides, small wounds won’t affect his immortal body, after one hour it will automatically heal by itself, but she should not know about it.
“It’s okay, I loved what I’m doing.” She continued what she doing and gave him a cutest smile and winked, “You should be grateful, I haven’t done this to any man, friends or my dad. You are lucky, Mr. Goddard.”
“So, I must be great?”
“Yes.”
“But I never told you to do it for me.” He shook his head, Sofia is unbelievable. “Hmm, Sofia, can I ask you something?”
After putting the band aid on his wound, that’s only that time Sofia looked at him. “What is it?”
“It’s all about, Gab.”
Sofia frowned when she heard his question. What will he need to know about Gab? She has no idea about it and asked him, “What about her?” She started to shoved back all the first aid stuffs back to the kit. “Why a sudden question about her?”
Demire paused for a moment, thinking what to answer her. Should he tell her about his hearing power, and he heard her mentioned Gab’s name while they were in separate rooms? He took a deep sigh and faced her. “I-I just remembered what you told me about her, I didn’t know why she should tell you about that thing, well in fact, there’s nothing happened like that between us. She never asked me for advance salary.” This is what bothers him most. He has no idea about the reason why Gabriella did that kind of stupid s**t. There were questions left at the back of his mind, but he has doubt to ask it to her. Why do I have to feel, that Gabriella is not that normal friend of yours? Do you know what she needs from you?
“I-I don’t know.” Her lips twitched. “I’m a bit worried about her now. I missed may calls from her today, and I can’t tell her that I am with you.”
“She maybe knew it already. We are both absent today.” He sighed. That is not what his concern right now. “And, why she needs you now? Just tell her you’re on vacation.” His fist clenched. What Gabriella doing right now is not normal. He knew it. He can feel and sense it. That woman is having deep possession with Sofia. They both turned to look her bag on the center table when her phone rang again.
“Wait. I’ll check it.”
Demire held a grip on her arm about to get her phone and check the caller. “Check my wound again, I feel like it will get swollen, don’t you think?” This what came to his mind first. A part of his sent him an order to stop her from checking who’s calling her.
“Okay, I’ll check later. I just have to answer—”
“Ouch, it hurts, Sofia,” his sinful lips had to lie on her. He did not fail to stop Sofia. He saw her eyes, how much she was concern about him today, and he believe he can use it to avoid her check the caller, because he knew himself who is that. It was that possessive Gabriella for sure. “Can you ask on the lobby if they have pain killer and anti-inflammation?”
Sofia stood up immediately. “Yes, I’ll ask now. Wait me here.”
He nodded to her and watched her running to go to the lobby for the medicine he would never need. She’s so innocent, everyone can fool her, use her and take advantage of her. He clenched his fist and leaned forward to get her phone inside the bad.
As what he expected, Gab is the caller. He did not waste a chance to answer the phone and placed it to his ears.
"God! Finally you answered, what took you busy? Are you okay? You got me really worried about you."
Demire smirked. He does not need more proof and questions to answer the conclusion built in his mind. What he heard from this woman is all enough to make things clear. A normal friend would never be this clingy.
"Sofia? You didn't reply me back, why?"
Demire cancelled the call. He wanted to see what are those messages Gab sent to Sofia.
Gab: Why you didn’t go to work today?
Gab: Please answer my call.
Gab: Sofia?
Gab: Are you busy?
Gab: I miss you.
"Dammit!!"
