Chapter 35

Seems the world had stopped the moment his lips claimed her’s. It frozen her body and prevented her to make any move. She seems like a leading actress on a telenovela that everything surrounds them went to a stop or probably into slow motion. Even a small piece of leaf about to fall on the ground is turned sluggish. Sofia cannot help herself not to stare at his handsome face. His eyes were closed. The next thing she felt was his palm on her cheek and the other one is on her waist. Demire moved his lips slowly and passionately, complimenting her lips as if it’s all his. He knew he surprised her, but getting no response from her was forced him to stop. He parted his lips against her’s, inch a part. He opened his eyes, glimpse on her lips and fell into a very deep thought. Why did he do that? What he had done again and again? Now, she hated him so much. He realized what he had done wrong. He decided to sat straight on the saddle and look at her reaction but a grasp on his arm prevented him to move until Sofia cut the inch distance of her lips and sealed his lips. This is not what he expected but a hard slap on his face. She was kissing him back, the same passion he gave her awhile. He could not resist on it anymore. He immediately responded her kisses. They forgotten the place where they are and the people surrounded them. “Aw, sweet,” a sixty-four woman on her wheelchair watching them along the barn side and everyone watching them agreed to her. They also forgotten the saddle where they were sitting until Sofia lost her balance and slid from the back of the horse. “Ah!” she screamed panicking and held on anything her palm traced. It was the hem of his polo. Demire moved quickly, used his power to catch her but his eyes caught everyone watching them so he has no choice but only to use his body to swap their position. He fell first and Sofia next to his chest. They fell on the dirt. “You’re hurt?” This is the first thing immediately came to his mind and caught her face to see her. Sofia was staring at him and wagged her head doubting. He sighed and helped her to get up. They sat on the dirt. He wasn’t convinced about her answer, so scanned her body still. “You’re crazy.” Demire looked at her. Her lips were pouting, while her fingertips were on the dirt drawing a circle on it. “What?” he asked confused. “You’re the one who’s hurt, but you asked me first.” She sighed and moved closed to him. She checked his back, his shoulder, neck and his face. A relief drew her face. “Are you okay?” He chuckled because of her funny reaction. “You’re dirty now.” A dirt on her face is what made him more chuckled. “As if I am the only one.” She lowered her eyes to his arm and touched it. When his lips winced, she immediately checked his elbow. A bleeding wound is what she saw first and it was covered with dirt. “s**t!” She started to get panic, as if it was a big wound. “We have to clean it immediately!” He yanked his arm and laughed. He never laughed this way again. “What?” Her face grimaced. “Nothing.” He’s still laughing. He stood up and held out his arm to help her up. She accepted it and gasped when Demire pulled her to his chest, wrapped his arm around her waist. She bumped on his broad chest. “Let me carry you, like what a real man supposed to do, when a woman was hurt.” Her eyes widened when he immediately lifted her on the ground. “D-Demire! What are you doing!?” She faced him with the combination of disgust and amusement. He started to walk out of the training area. Someone got inside to get the horse they borrowed. “Demire! I’m not hurt!” she murmured him, couldn’t take her eyes off to him. “I can walk.” He didn’t listen to her. This is what he wanted to do, and Demire Goddard is always doing the things he wanted to do, without hesitation. “Let me do this.” “But everyone is looking at us now.” Sofia looked around and saw many people that watching how sweet they were, and very cute to see being with each other. Her cheeks were red. She sighed. There is no sense to argue with him, he would not listen anyway. She decided to let him carry her to where they can clean themselves and his bleeding wound. She leaned her head to his shoulder. “You don’t have to do this, I swear I’m not hurt,” it’s more sounds like a statement while she was enjoying being on his arm and carrying her. They both covered with dirt. “But I wanted to.” “You are wounded.” “Not a big deal.” A slow smile worked its way across her face, she wrapped his arms on his shoulder. “Thank you, I was the one about to fall first but you swapped our position.” If he could just feel how much happy she was today. “My pleasure.” He chuckled. Is there no one only one noticing how often he chuckle, smile and laugh today? And how happy they are being with each other. “You’re such a good couple,” an aged woman complimented them, as they passed her on the road. She has a broaden smile on her lips, happy to see Sofia and Demire, perfect together. Demire faced the aged woman and smiled at her.
