When Sofia finally went out his room. His lips smiled with no reason. He really had his good day today, so many things happened yesterday but the closed deal with Lamberg made his day. He only cares about the company. He really planned to formally kick her out of Goddard company, without hesitation, after she ruined the meeting. But at the time of eight o’ clock in the evening he received a call from Akiko Lamberg agreed to his previous proposal with him. That made his night until today. Because who would not be? He did everything for that project. He always gets what he wants. He used to work hard in order to get things he wanted. He never used his power to his own needs and desire, he wanted to fight mortals fairly, But what about his temptation to her blood?
He shook his head and sipped the coffee she brought him. “Great!” he murmured. The coffee tasted very nice than he coffee she used to give him the past two days. This one is different. “She’s the one who made it?” He shook his head. It doesn’t make sense. Maybe she used the machine—but who is he fooling into? He knows a coffee machine wouldn’t make a delicious coffee like what he drinking now. How come he cares about coffee now? That’s new of him. He sighed and faced the door. He removed his earpiece again so he can hear noises outside his office. He heard her sighing. It made him wonder, so he stood up his chair and walked towards the closed door.
“I miss you, mom.”
He heard her talking to herself. Using his transparent powerful vision, he saw what is she doing. It’s one of his immortal abilities, to see what’s happening from behind the wall or anything that mortals can’t be seen just the way he can. He saw her facing the computer on her table and staring at the picture on the screen monitor. If he’s not having a wrong guess, the woman’s picture on the screen was her mother.
“When will you come and visit my dream?” She touched the screen monitor and smiled bitterly. “I miss you visiting me, of course with dad. But I never had a chance to save some pictures of him.”
“What is doing? She’s not working. Tsk!” He went back to his chair and set back his earpiece. He pinched his earlobes and leaned forward to go back facing his laptop. “Yeah, mortals. They wasting time reminiscing some people from their past.” He shook his head. “When will they learn themselves, their lives were too short and dying is part of their living? They will die whether they like it or not. They could die on accident, sickness and time, unlike us who could live forever. But not until the tragedy sabotaged us and killed my peer.” Suddenly he remembered what happened way back thousand years ago. He shuttered his eyes and sighed. It’s been so long, but the tragedy that caused him alone remained in his mind.
He heard a knock that brought him back to himself. “Mr. Goddard.”
That was Sofia.
“Get in.” He sat straight and fixed his coat.
She opened the door but didn’t step inside. “Mr. Goddard, would you like to accept appointment for, Ms. Yuri Fox this coming Saturday?” She’s holding a phone. Yuri Fox is setting an appointment with him.
“No, I’ll be busy that day.” He pretended busy, doing works on his laptop. He’s lying and he only knows why. He doesn’t like to meet Yuri, the girl who kept on showing him interest and even asked him many times about going out. He has no time to flirt and worst play. Yuri is beautiful, sophisticated and elegant. He met her on a party which he was only forced to attend. He attended the party all was tied to a business, since Yuri’s father doesn’t want to accept his proposal if he would not attend the party, so he did. He knows the secret behind ‘forcing-him’. It’s to meet Mr. Fox’s daughter, Yuri.
Sofia’s face frowned. “But—you don’t have schedule this Saturday?” She thinks about his schedule twice. She’d been staring at the clipboard of his schedule for almost two hours since she received it. “If I am not mistaken studying it.”
He sighed. “Didn’t you hear me? Or you just like to argue with me about my schedule?” He gave her a death glare.
She bit her lower lip and nodded. “Noted, Mr. Goddard.” She smiled and closed the door.
“Freak!” he groaned. He lied when he said he’ll be busy on Saturday. He’s just avoiding Yuri. He doesn’t care about what might mortal feels about him. If not Mr. Fox, he wouldn’t be good to Yuri, and will just tell her everything that comes out to his mouth. He’s more than mean sometimes.

He heard his stomach roaring. He stood up to take his lunch. He went out of his room, and expected Sofia in her cubicle but she wasn’t there. He checked his wrist watch. It’s lunch time, so he got the idea where his secretary was. Even him got hungry too. He needs some foods to maintain his energy. But a human blood can give him more than just energy.
He’s about to approach his car on the parking, in front of the company when he noticed a familiar voice screaming.
“Help!!”
