He watched the world’s transformation, he met too many friends in different era and they only died as the time passed by. Mortals had a short life span, that is why he avoiding anyone take part in his life and soon leave him. Though he has the power to make human live forever, he does not want them to a***e the power of immortality. He sat down to his swivel chair and began the five minutes interview. “What is your name?” he asked the jet-black haired woman with its coffee eyes. The way she brought her attire was amazing, she can be a perfect definition of ‘Simplicity is a beauty’. Nonetheless, he cannot feel her the essence of this woman as her secretary, cannot figure out working with her. So, after the introduction and few questions. “We’ll call you after three days,” he said.

The interview goes well until he got tired. The next applicant will be his last interview for today out of thirty he got interviewed, maybe he will pass the work to some of his employee but worried to accept someone he wouldn’t like to work with. He heard the knock on his door twice, he is facing the window and his back facing the door where an applicant entered his room.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Goddard.”

A lovely voice from behind caught his attention, he swirled his chair to face her. His eyes widened as he saw her, a five-four high, blonde and snow skin woman with its marvelous beauty. Wearing black blazer, paired with white blouse inside and black pants, totally amused him. Her lips were red as an apple, attractive perky narrow nose and ravishing dark eyes, caught his attention. It took him seconds to react and took a deep sigh. She handed him her palm for a shake hands, he undoubtedly accepted it and smiled at her. It was his first ever smile for almost one hundred thousand years of living. “Have a seat,” he said putting his reaction back to poker face, he has to remain the dumbass everyone knew him.

“Thank you,” she replied, fitting herself on an arm chair.

“And, what is your name?” He started to check her application placed in his table.

“Sofia Pollyana, Sir.”

He heard her name, exactly as what attached to the resume she passed, but when it sounds different when she is the one mentioning it. He studied her application, he read it whole in just as an instant since he has the power of speed, one hundred times more than a human can be. “Got it, you’re hired.” She gazed back at her.

“Wait, what?” She was surprised, unsure of what she heard. She could be dreaming right now since she was with a handsome CEO sitting with its own expensive swivel chair. She wants to hurt herself to wake her up, if she was really dreaming. She bit her lower lip and realized its pain. I’m not dreaming, oh my!! I have new job now.

“You’re hired, you can start tomorrow.” With his poker face, he handed the CV back to her. “Bring all the documents I attached inside.”

Sofia took her CV and was so happy to give him a wide smile. “Thank you, Sir, thank you!” She was very thankful and has no idea how to thank him the way she could see his curt smile a few minutes ago. She stepped out of his room happy and still in surprise. “Oh my God! Oh my God, for real?” she screamed inside the bathroom cubicle and giggled. “Oh, God, I praised you. I’m so happy this is my first ever job as a secretary, and imagine having him as a boss?” She remembered his handsomeness. The scene maybe happened too fast but she got the seconds to stare at eyes. “Oh, wait! Is he wearing a contact lenses?” she asked herself, “If yes then maybe his eyes were blue, brown or emerald green? How lovely.” She giggled again. Seriously imagining serving coffee with a handsome boss like him and will give her a smile to thank her.

After her day-dreaming, she excitedly went back to her apartment. She surprised her friend, Lily and hugged her tight. They were living together in one apartment and sharing for the bills, though Lily has its own coffee shop and she was just a woman living with her part-time job (but not now she got new job as a secretary). “Guess what, Lily.” She was smiling and eyes were shinning for her good news about to share with her friend. Lily helped her about her formal attire now, since she wasn’t the girl to have this kind of fashion. If Lily didn’t help her, then for sure, she was just wearing her favorite blouse now, paired with skinny jeans and her three years old sneakers.

“Alright, don’t tell me you got a new job?”

“Exactly!” She leaped so happy and hugged her again. “It’s time to celebrate!”

“Want some pizza and beer?” Lily was so happy for her friend Sofia.

“Yah, I want.” She chuckled, sat down to the couch and relax. “You wouldn’t believe I swear.”

Lily arched her brow. “Why? Is there some surprising happ—”

“Yes, because the boss who interviewed me is insanely handsome, but then my beauty captured him. He hired me for just one minute,” she sounds like bragging her beauty, “And told me I could start working tomorrow.” She faced Lily proud.

Lily burst into laugh as she saw Sofia bragging. Ridiculous! “I know it,” she said chuckling. “Just wait me here, I’ll change my clothes, we will go out to celebrate.”
