Chapter 40

“Oh, my God!!” Sofia screamed in fear when the lights inside the elevator turned off. The electricity on the hotel shut down. The powerful energy Demire releasing from his body broke the circuit of the electricity. Everyone got panic but the staffs were responding very quick, they opened the generator to give temporary electricity but the elevator was broke. And it’s all because of Demire. His body were burning inside. Darkness filled the elevator that made Sofia panic. “W-what’s happening?!”

Demire looked at her. He can see her in the darkness, clearly. The crimson moon took the devil out of his body. He transformed tonight, and he does not want Sofia saw him. He’s still in his senses but the b****y moon is powerful than him. It’s controlling his body now.

“Demire, where are you? Please hold my hand, I’m so scared.” She held out her hand to find him on the dark but she withdrew it immediately when she felt the heat.

No, don’t! Demire was screaming on his mind when his body moving opposite of what he thinking. He was thirsty. He needs blood, her genuine blood. This is what he only wanted to taste now.

“D-Demire!” Sofia screamed when his hand held her’s but that’s too hot that causing her skin burn. “Get off me! Please!! Please!” She tried so hard to withdraw her hand but he was powerful. He moved rapidly and the next thing happened, his fangs were embedded on her neck. Her eyes widened, feeling the tough pain on her neck. Her blood shed, and he immediately sipped it.

No!! She might die!! Demire was roaring on his head. It was too late for him to save her. He’s sipping her blood like a hungry lion. Her tears shed and fell down the floor. She lost he conscious. Her awful condition woke him up from his stupidity. “Sofia! Dammit!!” He hurriedly took her up, broke the door and brought her inside his room again. “I’m so stupid!!”

The sun comes up but Demire did not even try to sleep. He’s watching her the whole night. How can he face her now? He took advantage her that night. He was so stupid! His eyes remembered to the wound he left on her neck and the burn on her right wrist. It’s all gone now. Demire healed her wound by giving half of his energy into it. “I’m sorry,” he murmured. Slowly touching her angelic face. Her wound was gone, but the memory she had last night is what feared him now.

He stood up when Sofia opened her eyes. The sunlight was crossing on the window. The lights from outside enlighten the room. “D-Demire…” her voice was so soft and trembling. She probably remembering everything.

He has no word left to say, he’s just staring at her.

She sat down the bed and touched her neck when she felt something wrong from it. “I feel like a bee sting my neck.”

A huge bee, you mean. Demire remained silent. He’s waiting her to outs him.

She roamed her eyes around the room. “Oh, I’m sorry, I fell asleep in your room!” She stood up and fixed herself. “Wait! W-what happened?”

Demire frowned after her question. “What do you mean, Sofia?” There was something inside him inside him that saw opportunity, in he did not know why. The whole night, he was hoping she would not remember anything. He cannot lose her. Not now that they are getting closer to each other. He cannot risk the trust she gave him. He may be hypocrite, but he wanted to take this opportunity now.

“I don’t know, I can’t remember what happened last night. I woke up in your b-bed… oh my God! Did I do something wrong last night? Did I…”

“No, you’re not.” Demire walked near her and leaned forward to met her eyes. His worries disappeared. His heart was fille with happiness now, but his lips still tasting her sweet blood. “Do you really can’t remember anything?”

“Yes, please tell me.”

“Y-you fainted,” he mouthed the truth but kept the explanation on the tip of his tongue. She should not know. If he has to lie to her, then he will. Just to maintain the closeness he already had with her. He does not want the past memories with Angelique happen again. Just like Angelique, he knew Sofia will do the same. She will drive him away and call him a monster, just the was he really was.

“Oh, my God!!” she yelled in shocks and fell on the lawn. Terrified of his look now. The Demire that Anqelique loved was disappeared and a devil appeared in front of her. “Y-you’re a m-monster?!” She started to cry in fear and that hurt him most.

“M-monster! Help!”

Her scream frightened him and his tears fell from his eyes. He should expect the hundred percent possibility that she will drive him away from her. He wagged his head and disbelief and used his power to run away. The pain she gave her to him were too much. He cannot take it anymore. She did not accept him, and no one will accept him in this world. He is a monster, a devil, and he should know where he belongs.

He does not want to see Sofia frightened because of his look. Just like what happened last night, he watched her screaming. Frightened, even though she cannot see him in the dark. He still can give her the fear that she should not have.

“Did I cause trouble again to you?”

Demire shook his head. I caused trouble instead.
