ELIJAH'S POV
I watched as she walked away from me, I watched as my mate left. Agony and pain was all that filled my empty heart as I saw her leave.
But what hurt more is the words she said before she left me.
"You should've killed me." I got angry and started trashing the office room I was in. I flipped my desk over while letting the papers and my computer fly with my rage. I watched as my beta Jace came towards me, trying to calm me down.
I grew angry at him, for reasons that weren't justified. I stared him down, while anger dripped from my words as I gritted out.
"Leave. Or I'll make you leave." I then gave off an evil grin as I continued. "And I promise it won't be pleasant."
Jace's eyes grew in horror as he quickly left my office. I then slumped on my chair and closed my eyes tightly, as my knuckles were turning white from holding onto the arm chair to hard. I gritted my teeth as I tried to breath, but it just came out as huff and puffs.
I felt a strand tear leave my eyes, as I tried to shut my eyes more tightly. Why, why did she have to leave me? I need her.
I got up from my chair and walked pass the mess I created, then out the door.
I went down the hall, all the way to the training area where my trackers and warriors were sparing.
When they saw me they stopped straight away and bowed in submission. I walked passed them with gritted teeth, still angry from my mate.
I walked straight up to Cory, the leader of the trackers. And also the third in command.
"Cory." I said with a bored expression. He nodded he's head and gave me he's full attention.
"You will track my mate and bring her home. You will not harm her, you will not scare her." He looked at me confused.
"But didn't she leave you?" He quickly shut he's mouth as he registered what he said, to he's angry Alpha.
"She is your Luna and Queen." I spat out through gritted teeth. "If you do not find her, or do as ordered." I stopped and gave off a dangerous aura. "Well, I'll hate to be you."
He looked at me with horror as he bowed he's head and started rounding up he's best trackers to go find their Queen, my love.
I walked back into the pack house as I made my way into the kitchen. I grabbed a light snack as I went on my daily run around the town.
I would leave for 3 hours to find any clue of where my mate would of left. There was a time where I even stayed up so late to find hints that I fell asleep in the shed she hid in.
Her scent was still occupying the room. Sometimes I would sit in here and close my eyes just pretending she's still here. Pathetic, I know. But it helps.
I was now in town walking around. I got a few glances from the women I pass. But I ignore them trying to keep my anger and disgust at bay. Only my Adira will ever have my attention.
I came to halt when I saw the cafe my wolves found her at. I walked in and studied the scenery. I watched how dead it was, besides a few teenagers coming in. I sat down and took in everything in detail. That's when my eyes caught something interesting.
I waved at the lady who was taking orders as she came towards me.
"What can I help ya with dear?" I pointed outside the window where a car sat.
"Who's car is that?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. She looked at where I was pointing then responded.
"Some pretty lady came in here the other day, but she ended up leaving with some men. Never knew what happened to her after that." She then shrugged and walked away.
My eyes grew in excitement. Maybe there's something in there that came give me a hint of where she is. Or maybe how I can help her.
I jumped out of my chair and ran out of the cafe towards the car that sat all lonely in car park.
I used my wolf strength to opened the door and quickly hurried inside. I looked around to search for anything that could help me.
I then opened the glove box and saw a book. No, it was a journal. I opened the inside of it to see Adira's name written inside.
I felt guilty going through it, but I needed answers. I needed to know what my mate's been through so I can help her. So, I can bring her home.
