CHAPTER 4

2243 Words
(DARKNESS) ARIANNE’S POV ‘ALPHA.’ ‘MY ALPHA.’ The words that quickly rings all the red flag and hit the alarm of jealousy, disbelief, and betrayal inside my mind. For the person who just said and addressed those words is none other than Ariella. My ever-perfect half-sister and the said mate, the ideal one and the perfect Luna of the pack and Arthur. “’ MY ALPHA’? What did you mean by those words?” I said uncannily while my entire mind and very being was slowly burning with anger and somewhat expecting that impending, no, long gone given betrayal that I am all blinded of not seeing. Stupidly drowning and unknowingly in the pit of darkness and nothingness of my delusion for my world to call mine. “Tsk!” Ariella smirks, mocking me through and through with her expression and smiles. “Ariella!” I finally lose my calm demeanor and raise my voice as I shout her name with condemnation and curses. “I am not playing with you, so tell me everything,” I demand while clutching the cold bars of my prison and gritting my teeth in anger. “Well.” She whispers, then laughs for a while as she twirls thrice and gracefully in front of me. A gesture that seems irrelevant but hits me immediately with the realization and noticing the fact that I somehow missed the first time. With my eyes wide and my whole world that is slowly coming to a halt. My eyes are fixed on Ariella’s dress and I finally notice. A beautiful silver and white dress that is tailor-made to fit her perfectly. Design and inspired by the queens of the royal period that the human race is both proud and ashamed of. The sophisticated and elegant dress that is adorned with diamonds which I designed myself. “That dress, where?” My bewildered expression and shaking angry hands. For the greatest insult that I could ever have is now right in front of me. The insult of seeing my half-sister wearing the wedding dress that I designed and made myself. The wedding dress that I intend and have been dreaming to wear to my wedding with Alphonse. “Damn you Ariella!” I cursed, shaking the bars of my prison but couldn’t budge a little of it. “Where did you take it? Why do you have it?” I shouted, drawing the anger that satisfied her. With a giggling tone and a second of laughter, she mocks me. “Where do you think I got this wonderful dress, my dear sister?” She whispered as she took a few steps closer and presented the gown with a sinister smile in front of me. “Stop acting dumb and drop in denial for the things and the facts that are already presented right in front of you Arianne. As you know more than anyone where did I get this dress? This perfectly fitted wedding dress that I am accepting now is your gift. As I am saying these words to you.” With a deep sinister smile and a mocking tone, she whispers. “Thank you for creating this perfect wedding gown for my upcoming wedding with Alpha Alphonse, my dear half-sister, Arianne.” I am at my wit's end. As my blood is boiling and rising rapidly, half of me is screaming deep inside and calling for my wolf to wake up and cause havoc. Kill everyone on the path and leave with nothing but c*****e in this entire pack. But the half of me that is still a bit reasonable knew that I couldn’t. With the shackle on my feet that is made from sunstone, I couldn’t do anything. “No,” I whisper in disbelief and bewildered eyes after hearing those words and the sad truth that Ariella just dropped right in front of me. “Come on my dear sister. It is time to face the truth and wake up from your delusion. You will never be the Luna, as that title is mine in the first place. As alpha Alphonse chooses me over you and ever since from the beginning. You are nothing, but his mere tool, Arianne.” She then laughs and maniacally from the victory that she sealed for herself. With the tiny bit of reasonable mind that I had left, the past and the promises that Alphonse made all flashed back inside my mind. Along with the sacrifices and the crimes that I did for him. The sin that I have committed and all for his sake. Everything of those and his sweet fleeting words, are nothing but lies. As my boiling wrath is at its peak, that tiny reasonable thing that is left in me finally snaps. The snapping sound that breaks everything into pieces. The memories, the promises, and the future that I couldn’t be able to see nor I be the one standing beside him. For everything is just a play and his lies. “I am nothing more but his disposable doll,” I whisper the cursing words that draw that reality that I now finally realize is the truth of this cursed life of mine. As all the previous hesitation and full heart of only believing in him is now shattered into pieces. Replacing with anger that right now I couldn’t do a thing to avenge myself. The truth that I stupidly pushed myself into and now too late to even regret. “That’s right my dear half-sister.” Ariella’s taunting words and giggling tone with all the rights of her as I am indeed the greatest fool for believing the man who only uses me for his gain. “You have finally realized it all, as I congratulate you for your foolishness. Thinking that you can have everything if you just cling to the man who turns out only uses you for his gain as you are nothing but a disposable tool that he now throwing away as you do not have any worth.” Her mocking and the words that are burning the wrath inside of me, but at the same time making me weak and helpless from the deep and heavy betrayal of the man that I choose. “You and from the beginning.” I could hardly say the words, nor ask for the reason as my entire body was shivering in both anger and pain. With my weakened knees, I fall as Ariella crouches down, looking at me with the same mocking eyes and sinister smile as she taunts me even more and carves my wounds even deeper than they already are. “Alphonse didn’t love from the very beginning Arianne. He wanted me, the most beautiful lady in the entire pack and the perfect Luna with the blessed wolf which is the very opposite of you. But he didn’t go to me at first, knowing that I am bound to Arthur, so, he went to you who he easily manipulates as you are desperate and more for his attention and love. Your naivety and seeking for power made you the perfect candidate for his plans which you did perform exceptionally and more from his expectation. Now that he has everything, he doesn’t need you anymore as he is now giving me the title that I rightfully own.” Her proud tone and more than the meaning of the words and superficially that she is pointing deep to my face. The fact and deeper meaning that I do and more than understand of what. She is the perfect lady, the blessed one, and the Luna that everyone wants, respects, and loves. This is indeed what Alphonse needed to cement his position in the pack and erase the doubts and rumors that were circulating against him. Ariella’s standing and existence that is the rightful one to uplift his standing and his image which I could never give him. The truth that I once more stupidly just realized now. My foolishness led me to this position and the dark future ahead that I created for myself. “All he has to do to make everything perfect and gain everyone’s approval is me.” Ariella continued her taunting that at the moment I was all broken, down, in pain and wrath to say anything and to mark any necessary emotion in front of her. I somewhat am stuck in a spiral with my eyes and expression to be nothing but a hollow thing right now. Which all and deeper amuses Ariella. “You realize it all right, Arianne? Alphonse doesn’t need you as he wanted me. I hold the prestige, the title of the blessed one, and everyone’s favorite. I am the best candidate to be by his side and the future Luna of this pack.” She then laughs a halfway snaps me back to reality. With my hands clenched the burning desire for a killing spree which I couldn’t, I whisper the words. “Is this the reason why you are here? To mock me and slap me hard with the reality that no matter what I will do and have done I will always end up behind your shadow. Well, as much as It boils the wrath in me to admit it. But yes, you did a pretty good job for doing nothing and still have everything at the end, Ariella.” The mocking words to myself and the defeat that though I do not want to admit, I am helpless in the current state which I couldn’t do anything right now. “Well, being the blessed one has its advantage.” Her gleeful reply and victorious energy that is the biggest contradiction of what I am feeling right now. “To be honest after Arthur’s death and you exiling me away from the pack, I felt desperate and soon almost accepted my fate. But when Alphonse came in front of me, explained everything, and laid his desire and at the end proposed, everything snapped into my favor as having this blessed title is the best thing that I stole from you, my dear sister.” My eyes widen and my expression is marked with question as I look up and towards her, whose smile is wide and in the pure bliss of a sinister one. “What do you mean?” I immediately ask, shivering in pure anger. Ariella then smiles and drops everything loud and clear. “Remember the day a few hours before our upcoming of-age ceremony?” She asks in a giggling tone as the event of that day flashes inside my mind. The darkest day of my life was when I manifested my curse wolf that tore the already dirtied standing that I had. The reason why I was pushed even more in the shadow of Ariella’s glory. “The time when I invite you to come with me and perform that little promise in between sister with my promise to treat you good all and forever, even more. Which as stupid as you are and still right now. You believe me.” She mocks as that hateful moment rings back into my mind. “Tsk! Just what are you trying to say?” I demand that earns the satisfaction that she draws and quick to her face. “Well, that little promise is a spell, a forbidden spell from a witch. The perfect way and the only one that I use to steal what is yours and in exchange put the curse that I originally have on you, my dear sister.” She whispers directly to my ears with a proud tone and a victorious smile on her face. Her words and the truth along the words are more than enough for me to tie everything and realize the grand picture that happened then. “I am the true blessed one, and you are.” My bewildered expression and shaking angry voice that Ariella laughed about and as she twirled with the wedding dress that I made as she mocked me with her smiles and sophisticated gestures. “Just like how you are framed for the Madam’s death. I took everything from you, including Alphonse who is now throwing you like trash. This entire scheme is all because of my wit, my dear sister. Your curse is because of me. The murder that is pin by you is my idea which Alphonse executed and perfectly to condemn you to death.” The entire revelation that I long knew, but was blinded to believe because of my belief and my trust in the person that I shouldn’t have, but I stupidly did. “Yes, my dear half-sister, all of this is to put you to death. With the best attorney and the promise that is nothing but lies and fakery to make you feel at ease and not suspect a thing. Your naivety put you in this place. Hat stupidity of yours is the same as the first and until now. I am saying all of these to you as a final gift before your execution. Your death in front of everyone that I will surely savor, Arianne.” She then laughs maniacally as she waves her hand and goes her way with her footsteps fading as the seconds pass. Leaving the bottle of poison as her last compensation and curse for having me as her half-sister.
