CHAPTER 2

2620 Words
(BLINDED ROSE) ARIANNE’S POV ‘SHALL WE KILL THEM?’ My wolf whispers, snarling and boiling with the desire to kill and teach those women a lesson to not gossip inappropriately towards people that they do not know. “Relax,” I whisper and calm my wolf that unlike in the past, I have full control over her. “It’s not worth it.” I also calm myself, thinking about the worst that could happen if I let myself be eaten by their useless rumors and provocation. “Still, Alpha Alphonse is the one on top right now. The Alpha of the largest pack territory, the most influential pack, and the most powerful one of all. Which just means that no one and not even the like of us can say something about it, nor we could do anything to change the outcome of the rebellion that already ended.” One of them with a clear mind and reasonable ideology says the words that ring the approval in me. Her words, and smart enough with her sophisticated nature perk my interest. That newly arrived lady, and someone that I can use to my advantage and for Alphonse welfare. “Well, you have a point.” The other one agrees, but with a slight tone of dissatisfaction that she may delivered perfectly and made everyone around convince, but not me. “But winning the war and coming on top is not enough as proof of his worth to this pack.” Her hating words are slowly getting into my skin. Her dissatisfaction draws all through and through to her face with her tone that mocking. I couldn’t help but finally turn my head to see their faces. “Tsk!” I click my tongue as a beaming curse within my eyes reflects. For low and behold, just like what and who I expect it all to be. The rumors, the mocking, and the dissatisfaction all come from the group of sophisticated and well-educated women who never approve of Alphonse title and his rise to the throne of this pack’s Alpha. The group of women who despise me to the core. As they are none other than my sister’s loyal kin. That the ring leader is none other than the entitled brat of the Wayne family. Eliosa Wayne. “I should have known that I would be walking straight to the temporary den of these vicious wolves,” I whisper to myself and look away. All compose and calm my nerves as I kind of regret choosing this place for my leisure time for today. For it looks like I just stepped right into the trap of the entitled b****s, and worse with the madams and elders who equally hate me to the core and protesting from deep inside of Alphonse's earned title. Aside from the lady in blue who only said the good in Alphonse, all of them are trash. The people that I will dispose and immediately when I become this pack’s Luna. “What do you mean, madam Eve?” Someone asks not at all out of curiosity, but opening the start of a mocking sequence as she asks the oldest and the most vicious one. Madam Evangeline Delaque. Mate and wife of one of this pack’s renowned and well-respected Epsilon, Sir. Evan Delaque. The madam who is all against Alphonse reign despite his husband and the Epsilon being the first one who surrender in front of Alphonse now is a dedicated servant and a dog to the current Alpha. Her sophistication, grace, wit, and charm never fade even though she is an old hag. The first on my list is that I will dispose of the moment that I have the official title of this pack’s Luna. “With someone like Alpha Alphonse to be able to receive everyone’s approval and so of the Moon Goddess blessing. It is right that he should marry and take someone worthy of the title of this pack’s Luna. Someone that is blessed by the Moon Goddess herself.” The mocking and piercing point to the fact and the truth that she is rubbing into my face. Indirectly and viciously right at my back and all knowing that I can hear every word that they have said and will be saying. “You are right Madam Eve. Indeed, what Alpha Alphonse needs right now is not the cursed daughter, but the blessed one.” The words and everyone’s agreement that pushes me to the corner. With their words that is more than just a simple slap and immediately pushes me into the corner and shatters everything that is me, while it feeds my ego and shakes my pride. Words and the person that they are merrily describing and complimenting right now. The said rightful one which is none other than my sister. That perfect sister of mine that everyone loves and respects. The perfect Luna since childbirth. The perfect maiden with the sophistication and background that will never tarnish the name of Lockheart and especially the reputation of the pack. Unlike me. I who is only a half-blood, a disgrace with a curse, and an illegitimate child. Someone that isn’t love nor should be love. Someone like me will never be the rightful one to inherit anything or rule the pack despite my capabilities and years of proving myself. “I who is a disgrace will never have that liberty,” I whisper to myself while giggling in secret. Still, all the while calming my nerves and convincing myself that they are not worth it for my time, or my attention. As I shouldn’t be provoked by them and I should stay in my place out of trouble and all to the grace of my man and mate. Reminding myself that as long as I have Alphonse, I wouldn’t ask for anything. As long as he loves me I will be forever by his side as his equal and his Luna. That is more than enough for me. Right? “The Alpha should think about it deeply. He should know what is best for him and take the route that is the best thing and not just the right one. If he wanted everyone’s approval, he should choose the rightful Luna.” Madam Eve added with contempt in her tone and eyes that I could feel was piercing a hole from the back of my head. “You are indeed correct Madam Eve. Alpha Alphonse shouldn’t just marry and take a lowly illegitimate person who had nothing in her name, nor in her abilities to be his Luna.” Eloisa’s voice and words. That is followed by everyone’s agreement and giggling which is boiling the wrath inside of me. “A curse will forever be one, and if he wanted what’s best for him and to not throw away what he worked on all this time. He will listen to what I just advise him to do. He will marry Lady Ariella.” Madam Eve’s delighted tone and more than just a slap of mockery and disdain towards me. She intentionally said my sister’s name. She pointed out the difference between me and her. And she who will never be on Alphonse's side, and will do everything to dispose me. I had enough. ‘SHALL I KILL THEM?’ My wolf’s impatient tone as she asks that impending thought which I originally didn’t want to acknowledge. Yet. I am pushed into the corner where all the reason is slowly painted with darkness and my anger finally burst out of me. “No,” I command to my wolf, as I do not want any blood to spill in this luxurious and beautiful place that I love. “There are better ways to settle the score.” My confident tone and proud heart. With an emotionless expression that I plastered to my face, except for the distant look in my eyes. I stand, take the bottle of wine, and simply walk towards them. “Lady Ar---” Eloisa’s words and that kind of supposed to be a greeting that she didn’t get the chance to finish. “Ahh!!” One lady screamed in surprise. Madam Eve’s eyes widened as she felt the cold stream of the red wine that I poured directly into her head. “What do you think you're doing?” She screams in frustration and anger, as she stands and turns, he back facing me with a fuming gaze directly to my eyes. “Tsk!” I smirk, simply loving the view as I slam the empty bottle on the table. “Well, I just thought that you need some sophisticated drink to clear that mind of yours and somewhat realize that you are only the wife of a renowned person and will never be equal to his level to say things that you shouldn’t have said. Those foul words and your prejudice against me that I may remind you, will never bring me down nor give you the satisfaction that you wanted.” I smile, and gracefully with the tone of my voice and my words that is more than enough to slap her with sophistication that she always pointing and delivering in every way that she can. “You!” She shouted, but immediately stopped herself and acted calm and composed. Still, I could see, deep down in her eyes that she was fuming with anger and curses. Her hateful heart and contempt towards me that I am currently enjoying seeing from her while the red wine is dripping from her head. “Well, isn’t it still a good thing that you receive the most expensive and sought-after wine for a cold splash? Rather than just a plain old water, Madam Eve.” I mock her directly with the words and their meaning where I pity her and refrain myself of not spilling her with the ordinary things that she perceives as unworthy. Unworthy things that she hates and curses, as she receives that consideration from someone that she equally despises for being an unworthy one. “Don’t worry Madam Eve, I’ll make sure that you will have the first seat at the very first row during my wedding day to the Alpha. I’ll make sure that you will witness everything and be all in curses for the entire day as you will treasure such an event. An event of kneeling in front of the Luna that you hated and deemed unworthy.” With a sly smile and is satisfied by the flush expression and speechless state that she is presenting in front of the crowd. I took this little unsophisticated war to my victory. I then turned around, walked away, and ignored everyone who quickly made a way for me and didn’t even dare to look at me or gaze a little in my direction. The café staff escorted me out and thanked me for my visit with their forceful and scared smiles. I draw a satisfied smile on my face and I get inside my car and speed away. Holding the steering wheel tight, I know that I handle everything calmly without spilling any blood. But. “WHAT do you think you are doing, Arianne?” Alphonse's disappointed look, angry tone, and reprimanding presence despite his calm expression and relaxed stance in front of me. The news of what happened reached him faster than I could ever expect. But I am not surprised, nor have any thoughts of asking him how. Since he is this pack’s Alpha everything around the entire territory is his to command. Every detail and little thing he must know and know immediately without fault. “They are spreading rumors and mocking you behind your back ---” My words are cut off as he slams his fist onto the table. “But that doesn’t give you the right to insult them!” his raised voice and turned angry expression. A first that he did and towards me. This surprised me for a moment, but I immediately collected myself and was convinced that he didn’t mean to do such as he was only worried about the consequence of what I did. Even though I do not want to admit it, as I was only thinking of him and all that I want is to protect what he is and me. I do not want him to feel any bit of anger towards me. “Out of all people. You know that I needed the council’s support, and though Madam Delaque is not on the list of the council members, she is influential enough, no, more than a renowned figure in the eyes of the pack members. She holds the wealth and the Alta’s in the pack. And what you did is something that my enemies will use against me.” His reputation and honor. His disappointed tone and expression screamed that I almost ruined everything that he had built and achieved so far. Something that I do not want to see from him nor do I want him to feel towards me. “I’m sorry.” I immediately apologize and sincerely, as I am willing to swallow my pride and all my hesitation for him and all to his desire and his affection towards me that I couldn’t bear to lose. “I wasn’t thinking clearly and gave in to my emotions.” My pleading tone, but then he stands and turns his back which is what I am scared about. I immediately hug him from behind, asking for his forgiveness. His cold shudders mean one thing. He is losing faith in me which I will never allow to persist. For I do not want to lose him, nor do I want to be left behind. “I’m sorry. I do.” My pathetic self, but I do not care. As long as I remain in the graceful side of his. I will be the most loyal one who loves him dearly, more than anyone could and will ever be. “Arianne.” He whispers my name and holds my hand. Turn his face back at me and gently reaches and caresses my face. I close my eyes and he kisses me on my cheek and whispers. “You know that I believe in you. You are my light, my world, and my everything. Everything that I have achieved and been fighting for is for us. We are almost at the end of this game. I understand that what you did is for my sake, but some things need to be done and not. I still need them, just like I need you.” His sweet tone and careful words that I am head over heels about. With his tight hold on my hand and a kiss, he smiles and requests. “I will take care of everything and clean the mess. But I want you to promise me that you will not do something like that ever again.” His simple request that I didn’t hesitate for a single second and gave my promise. His sweet smile and deep kiss never fail to flutter my heart and make me skip a beat or two. His very being and him that I only need in this life and this world. As I am willing to give up everything for him and our future. But things will never fall the way that you wanted them if the entire world is all against you. “I ALPHONSE LYX SAYTAN, ALPHA OF THE SHADOW MOON PACK CONDEMN YOU TO DEATH FOR THE CRIMES UNFORGIVABLE. FOR KILLING MADAM DELAQUE AND PUTTING A CURSE ON THE ENTIRE PACK.”
