Missing You

1107 Words
Weeks have passed by, and the King had still not returned with his men. Alice had begun getting worried about them not returning back safely. She had been sure that Peter said they'd make it back sooner than present. Alice had been looking out from the balcony, waiting for their return. She knew she was crazy, thinking Peter and the others would return in a matter of seconds. Letting out the millionth sigh of the day, she decided she'd spend the rest of the day on her own. She made her way down to the stables, taking her favorite horse. Taking a couple of apples and carrots, she made her way to the place that had only belonged to her and Peter, their sanctuary. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Alice sat down close by the lagoon, dipping her bare legs in. It was a warm day, and it was relaxing. However, there was one thing missing from keeping her happy. Exactly what was it? Soon, the sun continued to spread around the area, so she decided to sit under the largest tree, resting her back against it. In a matter of seconds, she had fallen asleep. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * "...ice. Alice..." Someone had been calling her name, although she was unaware. She rubbed her eyes, barely concious. "Hm?" Her vision slowly begun to clear up, and she jumped at the sight of him. Of Peter. "Peter!" she squealed, throwing her arms around him. It was unimaginable, he was finally back. He snaked his arm around her waist, pulling her closer to him. "Miss me?" "Of course I did, you fool! You said you'd be back in a week... Do you know how long I waited for you?!" Although Alice was slightly yelling, there was a hint of disappointment in her tone. "I'm sorry." He wiped away the tears that were streaming down her cheek, kissing her softly on the forehead. "But I missed you too, Alice." Alice sighed, burying her tear-stained face into his chest. "Just .....don't leave me for too long, Peter, I....could barely stand it... Next time you have to leave, you're taking me with you." Peter chuckled, running his slender fingers through her long hair. "It's too dangerous, Alice. You know that. There's no way I'm letting you die out there. My motherㅡ" His voice broke, and he stopped playing with her hair. Guilt struck her. She looked up at Peter, sitting up. He had never spoken a word about his mother before, but she was sure some tragic event had occurred. Perhaps a tragedy that lead her to her death. "Uh... Nevermind." Alice was unsure of what to say. She just nodded, looking away from him. "I'm sorry." "I'm glad I have you now, Alice... Until you came into my life... I've never met someone who I.... Someone who I've loved so much..." The tears in his eyes were extremely visible. The tears were reflected in Alice's eyes. "Peter, I...." Before Alice could say anything more, Peter pulled her closer, his hand resting on the back of her neck. Before their lips came into contact, * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Alice woke up. Her neck was sore, she had fallen asleep under the tree for hours. Everything was just a dream. Peter's absence had made her feel extremely confused. She looked around her in desperation. She refused to believe that he was not thereㅡ everything had seemed so real to her. Tears were streaming down her face, just as she tripped on a strange chest. She wiped away her tears with her sleeve, crouching down to open up the mysterious chest. Inside was a crumpled message. It was from Peter. I don't know where to start... I love her. I love her so much, but there's something holding me back. I've been wanting to confess my feelings properly to her, but I don't know how to tell her. She wants the best for her kingdom, and it worries me. I'm not sure if Cair Paravel can offer her the best help. She told me the other day that a Queen or King should never marry for love, but for advantages. It kind of reminded me of the fact that she might not even like me at all. We had Susan's ball the other day, and she looked beautiful. I mean, she always looks beautiful, but she looked especially beautiful that night. I saw her dance with Caspian. Honestly, I was bubbling with jealously, but I didn't want to bother them. I found out that Caspian was trying to make Alice his wife. That bastard. It makes me furious knowing that such a dirty man had laid a finger on a lady belonging to me. When I saw her cry, I wanted to blast his face with fireworks, he disgusted me. Knowing that the message was about herself, Alice's heart fluttered. She went through all the messages, smiling to herself. However, something caught her eye. There was a name she had never seen before: "Olivia". She furrowed her eyebrows, reading the message. I miss you. I want to see you, even just for a moment. I miss your embrace, and being by your side made me truly happy. I will never find happiness with a different woman. No other woman other than you. I love you dearly, my Olivia. "Who.....Who's Olivia?" Alice shoved all the letters back into the chest, burying it with the dirt it had been covered with before. Filled with curiosity, she returned to the castle. Although she missed Peter entirely, it had seemed that he were missing somebody else. Returning to the castle, Alice had found herself frowning whilst riding on her horse. She tried changing her expression, realizing how jealous she had felt reading that message. Peter had probably written that message about that girl, and accidentally mixed it with messages he wrote about Alice. Alice was confused. She had thought Peter had liked her. But after reading that message about that mysterious girl, she had no clue anymore. She no longer felt special to him. Her grip on her horse tightened, and she felt her fists balling up. She hated the feeling of jealousy, and was frustrated over the fact that she was jealous over one boy. One boy who had made her feel special.
