ChapterTen During the following semester,I had to room at an apartment house across the street from the college dorm because I had waited too long to register for the dorm and I missed the college deadline for registering, requiring that I had to make other arrangements. One Friday, Tony called me twice that afternoon and was told by one of the girls who also rented that I wasn’t in my room. We hadn’t planned onseeing each other that evening, because payday was three days away, and Tony was broke.
