EVIE POV
“Wait—”
I subconsciously heard the shock in the tone as I was dropped to the ground. I crawled into a ball, whimpering and clutching my breasts, while gasping for hair at the same time.
Shutting my eyes in the hopes of blocking everything out, my hands tightened around my chest as I felt hands starting to pry them open. Struggling was useless and frankly I hurt too much to put up much of a fight.
Once they successfully pushed my hands out of the way, they started to unbutton my chest which caused me to resume struggling. However my hands were pinned down, I thrash as my shirt gave away.
The camisole top I wore under the uniform was lifted, revealing my binder. I wanted to die, Ethan was right. They were evil! The silence that follows the revelation has me holding my breath, not like I got much choice anyway as I was still finding it difficult to breathe properly.
“What the f**k?” Came a puzzled growl that has me wincing and shrinking away.
“Is that…boobs?”
I could hear the smirk in the next person’s voice.
“Yes Jordan, that is boobs, first time seeing one?”
“Shut up, Kaden!” It’s safe to assume that Jordan is the one who responded.
“Last time I check, Moonstone doesn’t f*****g have boobs!”
My head suddenly snapped off the floor, my scalp burned from how tight my hair was being held. A part of me wished I had cut it even shorter. I was forced into a sitting position with my back slammed against the wall.
Three figures scrotched down in front of me and for the first time, I finally saw the face of my tormentors. I wanted to scratch out their hands, claw it out and feed it to the wolves. Or better yet, make them choke on it.
“Who the f**k are you!” One of them barked, even though I know their names, I still don’t know which one is which. “I won’t f*****g ask again!”
I jolted, tears backing at the back of my eyes. I refuse to show weakness despite how much I hurt everywhere. I saw the way they treated that boy earlier, how they enjoyed his weakness.
“Evie…” My tongue darted out to wet my lips, my throat felt like a saw on dry wood. “Ethan… twin sister.”
He lets go of me then, making me sigh with relief. They stood up at the same time, looking at each other as if deciding what to say or do next.
“I don’t know about you guys, but dare I say things just got a lot more interesting?” The one on the right remarked, his eyes trailing down my body.
I realized then that my uniform was still gaping wide. Quickly pulling down my camisole top, I started to unbutton my shirt. Under their gaze it still felt like it wasn’t enough, so I crawled my knees up to my chest.
The one in the middle chuckled, finding my action hilarious while the one on the right bent down in front of me. I impulsively shrunk back, but there was nowhere to escape to.
“Why are you posing as Ethan Moonstone?” He demanded, running a finger above his lip.
“I think we all know why. Little Evie wants evidence to put the bad guys away, is that so?” The middle one pouted, his tone mocking.
The other two laughed, like he said something funny. I refrained from bursting into tears, figuring they weren’t in the slightest remorseful for what they did to my brother. And the fact that they almost killed me thinking it was him!
That blow in the chest was meant to kill, I know that from my laboured breath. Fortunately the binder was able to create a barrier because it could have been worse. It’s still a surprise that I didn’t pass out from the blow.
“C’m on, talk to us little Evie.” The one bending in front of me cooed, tapping my jaw. “Was that your plan? Record us in the act and do what? Show mommy and Daddy?”
“Actually, I was going to send it to the cops.” I snarled, unable to keep quiet any longer. “The board too, let’s see how you guys will deny it then.”
“Why go through all this trouble? We are more than happy to let you record us, little Evie. Haven’t you heard of the saying ‘you only need to ask’ huh?” The middle one added.
“You guys are sick! You think you’re above the law don’t you? That’s why you can bully an autistic kid and think nothing will happen.” My voice cracked, just thinking of what my brother must have gone through in their hands.
“Oh Evie, we are the law.” The left one tsk, stepping away.
“Anyway, this is fun. We will be seeing you at lunch.” Said the one in the middle, winking at me.
I watch them leave before finally crumbling to my tears. Seconds slipped into minutes before my tears subsided and I dragged myself off the floor. The hallway was empty, meaning everyone was in class.
Closing my eyes, I rest against the wall, still feeling a slight throb in my chest. By the time I made my way to the dorm, my body didn’t hurt any less than I thought it would.
“Ethan!” His room mate was on me, breathing against the back of my neck.
I pulled away, wincing at the contact. “Why are you here? I mean… Don't you have class? I was hoping for some privacy to shower and change.
“It was cancelled,” he frowned, cupping my face to examine it. “Hey? Are you okay? How’s your head?”
One thing is for sure, he’s a very touchy person. I had to take a minute to wonder how Ethan was able to cope with him because my brother hates being touched, he hates any form of attention even more.
I step away from his grasp, approaching Ethan’s bed. I look through my unpack bags for something new to wear.
“What’s Kaden, Logan and Jordan’s deal? Due to my head injury I can’t seem to remember—” my words were abruptly cut short by Ethan’s room mate hugging me from behind.
“As much as I don’t want you here, it's good to have you back.” He mutters, placing a kiss to the back of my neck.
“What—?” I jolted away from him so fast, I winced from the pain of my action. Staring at him with wide eyes, it finally dawned on me that he was more than a room-mate to Ethan!
Just great! Like it isn’t bad enough that the three psychotic Alphas have discovered my identity, what do I do about my brother “room-mate?” Do I dare tell him with everything hanging in the balance?
