Chapter Eighteen
I grinned, took Eartha’s hand, and pulled her out of the rain. Laughing, I hugged her.
“You’re Terra Lee? Is that your real name?”
“I’ll never tell,” she said, “but I really did go to school and I really am an addict specialist. I was in the village when Katherine texted me about your visit. She had no idea we knew each other. So I came right up.”
Hayword was watching and listening and was completely baffled.
“Eartha lives with Katherine and Oscar, on their property. She is now a trained addiction specialist, a sober companion. She’s come to talk with Fern.”
