THE ROCK

ANNOUNCEMENT

        Like the lives of overseas children who are struggling on campus, which usually only revolves around being in a boarding house, campus, boarding house, campus, boarding house, campus is a routine thing for these few days. There are no more invitations to play in the band because we are waiting for the announcement of the results of the band auditions. The senior who was acting pretentious as usual this afternoon at the campus cafeteria where Roy and I were busy eating oxtail soup was suddenly surprised that someone tapped me on the shoulder until I was about to slurp the soup on the spoon and spilled on my pants.

           "Don't wet the little ones." Said the Senior of campus loudly, followed by laughter from his friends and friends in the cafeteria then watched me and came over to me and surrounded me saying "IH wetting the bed even though I'm big."

          "Wow, this is because the soup spilled because of being touched." I said.

         The senior of campus then laughed and said "How is your band, young people, have you made preparations to accept rejection." The senior said as he was followed by the applause of his friends.

         Roy just stared blankly until he didn't realize that his mouth had been hanging open for a while. I then replied "Yeah, we'll see, don't take your words back, if our band wins, they will become our fan club and ask for autographs."

       The senior of campus then laughed as he turned to his friends and began to greet me "Okay."

      Then the senior of campus left followed by his friends and the girls who followed him.

      I was annoyed and then took another sip of my food until it was smeared on my cheeks and then Roy said "It's so gross you see your mouth and face have a lot of rice stuck to it."

      I then hurriedly cleaned it with my hands and Roy said again

     "There's a tissue here, see if your hands get dirty too." Si Roy said while burping the wind that came out of his mouth hit my face.

     "Yes...yes it's very noisy." I said then.

     Today is the day of my announcement, Roy, Andi and David gathered in my boarding house which is the basecamp for the four of us, then Roy replied, "Quickly, set the live streaming TV on my laptop, there is no TV in the boarding house."

      I then said, "The boarding house child doesn't have a TV, if there is an additional fee." I said.

    "No wonder you often miss news, it's like living in a cave, you only have walls." Roy said again. Andi and David couldn't help but smile hearing my conversation with Roy who had been captured since returning from campus.

    "It's starting," I then turned the volume on high volume on Roy's laptop who was watching the live streaming of the band audition announcement.

     The announcer of the band audition announcement then said, “Thank you to the viewers and all the young bands who want to work for this band audition selection. In this band audition, there will be three bands who will then perform at the festival with top bands and then only one will be the winner, only one, who is your band? Yes, before starting the event, let's invite Mr. Sugiono to give a speech at this event and Welcome to Mr Sugiono."

"Sorry, the speech took so long, how many minutes has it not been finished." Si Andi replied while starting to yawn covering his mouth and then leaning against the wall. Si Roy was stretching his legs and Si David sat beside me watching the event.

     "Well, the welcome is over, then there's another welcome from you..." The presenter started to read today's program on Live Streaming.

    "Oops, when will it start if the welcome continues." I said already turning to Andi who had started to fall asleep and then woke up when I nudged him, Roy who was now squatting and David who was still sitting next to me.

      We waited for almost two hours and the program was only a welcome speech until then the host said "Well we are at the end of the event whose band will appear at this year's festival,,,, curious,,, are you curious,,,, yes. Well, we welcome the jury to announce it."

      The three judges came forward and one by one gave their greetings. I, who was getting tired of holding my head with my right hand, Si Roy started eating the bread he bought at the supermarket when he came home from campus, Si Andi who fell asleep again and David who started drinking bottled water still waiting for "When is the announcement?." I'm getting impatient.

     "Well we will announce now, the first band to qualify for The Stars," Andi started to wake up, Si Roy was getting more and more violent eating his bread and David had finished drinking put the bottle in his bag. The jury announced the name of the senior band that passed first.

    We then heard again "Yes to Fortune's second band." The jury announced Roy watched until he choked on his own bread.

   "Who is the third band,,,,who,,,,? The jury is starting to announce again

     The four of us stood holding each other's shoulders wishing our band called "Well that band is." Roy's laptop suddenly died because the battery ran out and forgot to bring a charger.

    " Sorry Iam bring the laptop charger." Roy said.

   "Quickly open the cellphone." I told David to open his cellphone because his cellphone had a TV.

    "Well, those are the names of the bands that will perform at this year's festival and will audition to be the next band this year, see you, let's watch the performance of the band Miracle." Said the emcee and the event was over.

    "Wow, who's the third band?" I said

   "Tomorrow I'll tell you there might be news in the magazine." Roy answered my question.
