Chapter Ten

Kylah's POV

I was completely surprised by Nick's response, nobody wants a broken mate like me and I told him that. He didn't like that too well, and by this point Georgina had been running her mouth about me, so now the whole school knows I'm mated to a soon-to-be-alpha, which means news is going to get back to my father... Great... So, by the end of the day, I'd had more stares and whispers about me than I'd care to admit. It's the last class of the day and I never realized I had Nick and Andrew in this class. My head was always down, so I never noticed them walking in until today.

Nick's POV

As we walked into class, obviously we saw Kylah, and she happened to look up this time, as if noticing for the first time we are in this class too, so we took our places next to her, me on her left and Andrew on her right, so she's right in the middle. I asked her how the last few of her classes had been, and her response took me by surprise, "more stares and whispers than I'd like, the school knows we are mates and Georgina is looking to make our lives' hell for it." She also said that this new is going to get back to her father and brother.

Kylah's POV

It is now the end of the school day, and I am on my way to my locker to put my books away. As I do, Georgina comes up and is still salty that she doesn't have a mate, and she turned 19 in August, and she makes that known to me, and I always told her I didn't care and that the moon goddess doesn't bless those who harm others from their own pack and reminded her my brother is 21 and still has yet to find his mate.

I am now on my way home from school. I told Nick and Andrew I didn't need them to walk me home and, much to their disappointment, gave up the fight. I walk in the door and begin my normalcy of a routine; homework, shower and kitchen work, I notice that my brother and father are still gone or at least they appear to be. I make their plates and wrap them up in aluminum foil so that they stay warm, and I eat my dinner and wash my dishes, pots and pans included. By the time I was done, my brother and father came storming in the front door. My father shouted "WHAT'S THIS I HEAR YOU GOT A MATE?!" and my brother said "and soon to be alpha of Silver Moon at that?!" And at that moment, I was like here it comes. Luckily, Nick had given me his number, so I called him and put him on speaker, so he could hear the altercation.
