He was afraid of how she would react in the morning when she regained her senses about what happened last night. But he was sure of one thing: that their life had gone beyond friendship but turned into lovers. The next morning came with the rays of the sun penetrating through Walker's window room. Iris was the first to be awake. She slowly opened her eyes, as she was stirred in Walker's arms and not let her go. The most handsome man was sleeping, wrapping his arms around her. Walker held her close to his body as if he didn't want to let her go. His grip was so possessive, making it seem that he wanted to keep her close to him forever. When reality came to hit her senses. Her brain reminded her of the memory of last night and how she was begging him to take her. "s**t", she cursed silently inside her brain, feeling so embarrassed that the devilishly handsome man who made love to her last night was her best friend. She remembered how he saved her from the gang who attempt to touch get or even r**e her, and the same gang who attacked her at school and he came like her bodyguard in shining armor and saved her. It was the beginning of their friendship. They were connected instantly and they became important to one another. She knew him so well. He could never be interested in a simple girl like her. Last night was just a mistake that won't happen again. It's a big mistake in their life. She looked beside her and saw a handsome face, with his hair that was messy, and a stupid smile on his lips. He was sleeping so peacefully. She'd made up her mind. She was strong enough to bear his rejection, she wasn't new to rejection from a man though, when her first and only boyfriend betrayed her and left for an old woman. She sighed silently and started getting off his bed, slowly untangling his arm from her body. Before she could slide out of bed, Walker tightened his grip around her, "Where do you think you are going, Iris?" she remained silent without uttering a word. "I'm… let's sleep for some more time". Walker was not willing to lose his grip. "ummm… Walker… I… need to pee and get dressed you know," Iris said shyly. Walker loosened his arm around her. He waited for her to get off the bed. "Do you want me to carry you?" He asked and without waiting for her response, he picked her up in bridal style and went to the bathroom. She felt awkward as she was feeling shy as her butt was naked. He places her down and heads toward the kitchen. Walker was inside the kitchen making eggs and bacon. Iris took a quick shower, she came out wearing a fluffy white robe she had found in the bathroom. Her stomach grumbled at the smell of a delicious breakfast. She sat on a dining chair. Walker turned to see her. She looked so pretty sitting there with wet hair and in a Walker white robe. She was busy avoiding eye contact with him. Walker sensed what was going on and asked her. "Do you regret what happened?" with a worried look on his lips. "No Walker, I just want to thank you but I didn't know how to express it more deeply". "Is that why you are behaving as if something is wrong?" he asked softly, staring into her blue eyes. She took a deep breath and summoned the courage to ask him a question. "Walker, what are we now? Are we friends with benefits?" Walker took a moment to think. He chuckled softly, "Ummmm… can say. But I want you to know one thing I am always there for you whenever you need me, and I am not going anywhere, Iris. So stop thinking about that". Walker said, taking her hand in his. Iris sighed with relief. "Thank you, Walker, for always being there for me". Walker was not willing to let her go, even though the cost would be his heart. He would do everything in his power to make her fall for him and keep her. He smiled at his thought. "Come, let's eat, you must be hungry". "Yeah, I am," she said as her stomach grumbled again. They ate silently for about 20 minutes. Walker left her to dress up as he was thinking of going to his mother's place for lunch. He came back and asked her. "Would you mind coming with me for family lunch?" She nodded, "Walker, you know how much I love your mom". She said putting on her charming smile. Walker already knew his sister's hatred for her, as she didn't mention her name. They left for Mrs Laura's house and stopped at Iris's dorm. She needs to dress. She had been wearing the same dress since last night, and she needed to change. When they reached Mrs Laura's mansion, it was already lunchtime. Lunch was served. So many delicious foods were there according to everyone's choice. It was their every weekend ritual and Iris became part of them as Walker used to bring her here almost every weekend. Everyone was present at the dining table except for Catherine, Walker's sister who locked herself up inside her room and refused to come out for lunch. As they are eating, Iris remembers the last night's event of how she was begging Walker to have her as she was boiling inside. She felt embarrassed by her actions. She looked at Walker who was there thinking about last night. Mrs Laura broke her thought when she asked about her studies. She treated Iris as her daughter. Walker couldn't stop thinking about last night. She made him feel like no girl ever had. Her moans and screams are still sounding in his ears. Her tiny body molded perfectly with his as he lost his mind. He couldn't help it when she begged him to take her. He was left with the scene replaying in his mind where Iris was all spread on his bed and begging for his touch. He never imagined something like that could happen between them, and now he couldn't let her go but have her. He looked at her when she was smiling with Mrs Laura's jokes and now, he couldn't keep his eyes away from her face. She was looking more beautiful and he wondered how he never noticed that her smile was so charming. "What are you doing to me, Iris!". He thought with a sigh. Walker stood up from the chair. "Iris, I will be back soon. I forgot to get something on our way here". He said with a smiling face. "Mum, I will be back". He left their sight Mrs Laura was filled with the thought of asking her son to marry Iris. She was delighted with her behavior, she loves her like her daughter and knows her situation is not a problem. It had been 30 minutes since Walker had left. Mrs Laura and Iris moved to the sitting room to listen to a program on their TV. Catherine came out of her room with a dramatic look on her face. Her face looked like someone ready to harm anyone who came her way. She was devilish like someone who was possessed by a spirit. Walker entered the sitting room and sat down giving a cold well done to Iris and his mom. "Then, what is it that you forgot? Because I can't see you holding anything?" His mom asked him. "Mom, it's nothing", he cut it short to keep his mother from moving forward. They watch the program for like an hour and it's getting late. Walker and Iris stood up to take a leave. Walker put out a dramatic show with him kneeling. His mother can't read the situation about what is going on, and before she does. Her son was putting his finger inside his pocket and removing his hand with a ring, proposing to Iris. Iris's mind was lost, she became shivering as she was shocked by his move. She remembered Jacob, her ex promising her of proposing to her not until he left her for an old woman. Water began to store in her eyes waiting for the blink to drop as she was thinking about all Jacob's promises to her. But now Walker had filled all the space left by Jacob. She was stuck at the moment, and at the same time shy of accepting Walker's proposal in front of Mrs Laura. Walker looked up into her eyes, waiting for her acceptance. She was happy as she would get married to her best friend and the most handsome bachelor with a great reputation. At the same time, she was shy of accepting his marriage proposal to her. "Yes!" she said, accepting his marriage proposal to him. Mrs Laura was filled with joy with her son choosing her type and her beloved daughter. There was so much joy for all the three except for Catherine who slammed the door and entered her room. There was so much joy in everybody's heart and face as they were getting married. They left Mrs Laura's mansion for Iris to prepare herself for her next class the following morning.
