The Loathe.

Rolland pulled his jersey over his head and grabbed his helmet, "we gotta do something about that ass hat Scott" Dennis says as he followed Rolland out of the changing room. They stepped out onto the field and looked out to the football team running drills, Rolland sighed 

"after practice" he said sternly, he looked at Dennis and grinned before he runs out to meet the team.

Eli Payne groaned as he doubled over panting, Jonathan chuckled and tapped his back "what did you do during the summer Payne?"

"masturbate?" Spencer asked with a sneaky grin as he stopped by Eli's side

Eli groaned and elbowed his torso, Spencer winced in pain as he doubled over to the ground, Jonathan laughed. The Lacrosse team came together in a circle, Coach Newson joined the circle with his clipboard in hand

"alright-" he began tapping his hand on his board, Eli groaned as he crouched down and looked up at Coach Newson "coach, it's the first day of school and you're already making us run drills"

"well, while you were busy eating fat cakes with Grandma", the boys chuckle, "I was already planning our strategy for the upcoming beginning of the year faceoff", he looked over to the other side of the fence to the football field "you see those barbarian's?" 

the boys all look to the football field and looked back at Newson 

"Coach Ryan is already getting his boys up and running, what kind of coach would I be if I didn't do the same?!" he yelled 

"a cool coach?" Trevor asked, taking deep breathes, his cheeks burning red, Coach Newson chuckled dryly, folding his arms "last year, we were roasted in the finals against Winchester, I will not reenact the same failure I felt!" 

the boys grow silent as they remember the loss. Eli sighed, shaking his head "you need a hobby Coach", the boys stared at him in disbelief, their eyes move back to Coach Newson waiting for his reaction 

"oh I'm sorry, do you still want to be apart of this team?!" he snarled, spit flying out of his mouth "50 more laps for that comment!" 

the boys groan as they grabbed Eli and pushed him forward to lead the run.

Amberly Mason stretched out her legs as she watched the lacrosse team run around the field, her eyes glued on Jonathan Scott. Heather Foster plopped next to her with a big sigh "are you still trying to get Scott?" 

"I'm going to get that piece of ass no matter what it takes" she replies with a stern tone, as if she was concentrating on a master plan,

"Amber, he basically humiliated you at the spring dance last year, when he rejected to dance with you" Heather deadpanned 

"can you not remind me?!" she hissed, getting to her feet. Heather sighed again with a shrug "have you ever thought that maybe" she paused looking at Scott "just maybe"

"don't say it" Amberly hissed getting annoyed, as she stretched her arm across her face

"he may be-", Amberly grabbed her towel and shoved it into her mouth "don't say it!". Heather pulled the towel out of her mouth and frowned at her "gay" she finished, Amberly rolled her eyes at her and kicked her in the thigh, she looks at Jonathan and folds her arms,  "there is no way, on earth that, that perfect specimen is a homosexual" she says as she bit her lip with a mischievous grin

"why not?" Heather deadpanned narrowing her eyes at her "and why the hell did you say it like that-"

Amberly looked at her as if she had screwed her brains out "well s**t Heather, way to put me as a homophob",  she looked back at Jonathan and  watched him for a few more seconds. She finally clapped her hands, calling the girls over for briefing. The girls stood before her "alright ladies, since it's a new year and Leyla appointed me as this years Captain, I've thought of new choreography and I'm gonna need all of you to cooperate in order for it to work". She looked at Heather and gave a nod, Heather rolled her eyes and pressed the play button on her phone, k pop beats  began filling up the air.

"You're gonna have to divide the twenty five in order to get your answer" 

Freddy looked at the equation and scratched his head "this one?" he asked pointing 

Eliza nodded with a smile "yeah, that's it ". After their one hour tutoring session, they packed up quietly and exit the library, "thanks Liza" Freddy says as he walks off in a hurry to catch his mum in the parking lot, "you're welcome" she cried out softly. She made her way to her locker and placed her tutoring books back in, she closed her locker and made her way down the empty hallway with her hands in her pockets. 

"Ms. Thompson"

Eliza turned around and saw Mrs. Sanders peering out of her classroom , Eliza walked over to her "yes Mrs. Sanders?"

"I was meaning to talk to you today after your lunch break but I lost you,  do you have time now?" she asked, stepping aside with her right hand stretching into her room. Eliza walked in and stood in front of her desk, Mrs. Sanders sat in her seat and gestured for her to take a seat, she sat in a seat up front and waited. "As you know, we will be having our middle of the year dance formal this year"

"oh" Eliza exclaimed surprised "Mr. Byrnes has agreed to bring that back again?" 

she nodded "yes, a few of my colleagues and I, thought we would want to make senior year memorable for our seniors" she says happily 

Eliza smiled and nodded "that's great" 

"I will leave it to you to organize the fundraiser since you have finally been selected as the Student Body President" 

Eliza's eye grew wide  "I'm sorry?" she asked in awe "I didn't sign up for-"

"Mr. Byrnes thought you'd make an excellent candidate and selected you personally", Eliza continue to stare as she slowly nodded as she spoke "Renee also vouched for you to be chosen"

 "she did?" she asked shocked , Mrs. Sanders nodded "yeah, she wrote a letter to Mr. Byrnes before she left and made sure that you would take her spot" she got to her feet "your first meeting is tomorrow during recess in the conference room"

Eliza nodded and also got to her feet "that will be all" Mrs. Sanders says softly, she slowly made her way out as she tried to process what had happened. She left the school council last year when Mr. Byrnes refused to support Bible studies within the compound, she felt her heart beat fast against her chest, she couldn't believe what just happened, was she happy? confused? Both? She made her way to the parking lot and waited patiently for Ethan. She took her phone out and searched for Renee, she pressed her phone against her ear and listened to the dialing tone, 

"hello?"

"hey Renee, it's Liza" 

"hey girl!" Renee exclaimed happily, "what's up?" 

"I just got selected for Student Body President" Eliza informed half heartedly, Renee laughed with a hint of excitement in her voice "I know! Isn't it great?!" 

Eliza chuckled softly "I don't think this is fair to the rest of those whose running for the spot"

"who else is running?" Renee asked 

"Pepper Gilman" 

Renee let out a laugh "Pepper only wants one thing and that is popularity"

Eliza sighed as she leaned against Ethan's hood "I feel like I shouldn't be taking this spot" 

"hey, you're going to do great, now you can bring changes into the school and finally put up discipleship" 

Eliza listened quietly with a smile forming, "you're a great leader Liza, you're going to do a lot of great things with this position" she paused  "You're gonna do great!" Renee screamed into the phone ,Eliza laughed, moving the phone away from her ear. Ethan walked out with a couple of guys from his swim team, he looked over to Eliza and waved his hand, Eliza waved back, 

"Renee, I have to go, talk later" 

"yeah okay, bye" Renee replied back. Eliza ended the call and watched her cousin march towards her 

"what a loser" he mutters with a grin, "what'd you say?!" she snapped as she fake lunged at him with her fist raised, he scoffed. Theodore Springs snuck up behind her and wrapped his arm around Eliza's neck,

"well, if it isn't the nerd"

Ethan laughed as Eliza tried to wriggle free, "don't you have a book to read?" she cried smacking his arm, Theo cackled  "this is more fun". Ethan continued laughing, he suddenly heard loud aggressive voices and turned to see a bunch of guys at the far end of the parking lot, he watched them for a few seconds until one of them threw a punch. The whole gang went up on each other, throwing hits, Ethan tapped Theo and ran towards the brawl, Theo called some of the guys who were still around and they all ran to stop the fight. Ethan ran in and pulled Rolland away from Jonathan as he clung to his collar and threw him to the ground, Theo and the rest of his guys pushed and pulled the rest of the other guys aside 

"what the hell is going on here?!" Ethan yelled looking around 

"get lost!" Spencer yelled as he pushed him back, Ethan glared at him "its the first day of school, and ya'll are already being total morons!" he hissed 

Jonathan let out a deep annoyed breathe, brushing himself off and walked away.
