Fernando saw them, too.
He gently patted Naomi's arm, and then the two walked over together.
Iris watched them approach, her blood nearly freezing in her veins.
"Iris!" Naomi was still smiling. "You haven't talked to me for days!"
Then, she leaned in close to Iris and whispered, "Fernando said you were too shy to invite him, so he begged me to bring him."
Iris finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Thankfully, it wasn't some melodramatic plot of Naomi and Fernando getting together!
She looked helplessly at Naomi, who was still winking at her.
'How could she still be so easily deceived by any man's nonsense?' Iris wondered.
