“Everyone, search for her! Everywhere!” I barked. “Inform the men at the warehouse, they might have seen Aria leave with someone. Now go. All of you, except you, Dagger. Stay.”
I turned to him once the others had filed out. “We’re going to search this room for any clues.”
Just then, a loud thump echoed through the silence, like a heavy book hitting the floor.
“Shh!” I hissed at Dagger. “Don’t make a sound with your feet.”
I motioned for him to remain still and whispered, “The noise came from my study.”
I moved silently, tiptoeing toward the study door. That moment, I stepped inside and scanned the room, but everything appeared undisturbed. No sign of anyone.
