Chapter 3: Underneath the Blue-1

2055 Words

Chapter 3: Underneath the Blue What Becca doesn’t know about the young woman would maybe surprise her. Tuckie suffers from depression. The mechanic has tried to deal with it her entire life. With pills. With therapy. With homeopathic methods. With exercise and diet. With other people her age who suffer from the disease. Born this way. Very much like her Aunt Helen, on her father’s side, of course. Blood and chromosomes and history have all prompted Tuckie to suffer from depression, or what she likes to call “Underneath the Blue,” because this is what it feels like. This is her life when she’s not at the garage being a grease monkey, or at West End College studying psychology. This is the blue world here. Underneath it all. Strangeness. Quiet. Stillness. The life of coping with depression.
