Chapter 15

Unaware of everything that was happening back home, Silas was in his red Porsche, heading to the location that Jamie sent him.

Ding!

“Where are you?”

“I will be there in five minutes”

“I'm waiting outside”

He was controlling the steering with one hand and replying to Jamie with the other.

The time they agreed on was 10AM but due to Somad’s sudden madness, it was already 11AM and he still wasn't there yet.

When Silas finally got to the place, he discovered that it was a high end bar. He frowned as he couldn't understand why Jamie would choose such a place when he was well aware of his status.

“There you are, I have been waiting all morning”Jamie's excited voice came from behind him and he smiled.

This was their first official meeting after he ended things with Naelis, so he felt less guilty.

“Why this place?”Silas asked as he grabbed a face cap and nose mask from the passenger's seat.

He didn't feel so good about the place, especially as it was a high end bar, meaning lots of influential people frequent it. People that might definitely know who he is, even the lower class people know him.

So it is a huge risk for him to be here.

“I know that we can't publicly announce our relationship but no one is going to know, so just relax,” Jamie said with a convincing smile.

Silas still hesitated as he had this strong feeling that something was going to go wrong and the feeling was pretty strong.

He took a deep breath and thought for a few minutes “How about we go to my private apartment, it's not far from here. There will be music and any drink you can think of”

Silas wasn't ready to take such a risk, his father would kill him if he ever found out.

On hearing his words, Jamie wasn't happy but just had to compromise as he was very aware of how sensitive their relationship is.

He forced a smile “Sure, let's go” . He wasn't as excited as he was earlier and Silas noticed it.

They got into the red Porsche and Silas drove off. His heart raced at the thought of what they were going to do when they got to the apartment.

“Are you upset?”

“No”

“We can cancel if you aren't okay with it. I don't want you to force yourself”

Jamie quickly placed his hand on Silas chest “I just want to be with you and I'm sorry for not putting your situation into consideration when I chose the location.” He slowly caressed his chest, making Silas grip on the steering to tighten.

“Do you always go there?” Silas asked, his voice was now slightly hoarse.

Jamie hesitated for a few seconds “Yeah, with my ex” his voice was barely above a whisper and he also noticed that Silas knuckles were turning white from how hard he was gripping the steering wheel.

Silas couldn't understand what was happening to him, he felt extremely angry that someone else had touched Jamie and it made him extremely possessive.

Even his wolf wanted to tear the person apart, he wasn't sure if he and Jamie were fated but he could definitely feel the strong pull between them.

Jamie pressed his back on the seat with a slightly anxious expression “Silas, slow down!” he yelled when he couldn't take it anymore.

Silas suddenly snapped out of it and slowed the car down before looking at Jamie, who was gasping for air.

“Just thinking of how someone else has touched you made me extremely furious” Silas didn't hide how he felt and Jamie was stunned by how dangerous his jealousy was.

“Was he very good? Did he f**k you better than me? Did you moan his name?” Silas wasn't feeling any better and he couldn't stop himself from blurting out the numerous questions in his head.

Jamie just lowered his head as he didn't know how to respond to him. This only made Silas more angry.

“Did you choose that place because you can't forget him?” Silas questioned but Jamie still remained silent.

Jamie clenched his fists as he was also getting angry with his numerous questions.

“Yes, I chose that place because that's the only high end place that I have been to and I felt it would fit your status!”

Jamie finally exploded and it was now Sila's turn to be quiet.

“You have access to lots of high end places in Frostpine but I don't. I am only allowed in there because my ex got me a pass.

You keep forgetting that not everyone is born into a wealthy family and given a proper status from birth” Jamie seems to have finally snapped, his heart felt tight and he just wanted to finally be the one venting.

Silas wasn't expecting him to say all that and felt hurt. “Do you think my life is easy?” he let out a mocking laugh.

“I live every single day with the fear of bringing shame to my family, with the fear of not working hard enough. Do you know how it feels to be watched wherever you go, not because they admire me but just looking for a little mistake to use against me” Silas said as he pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and lit it.

He took a deep drag and puffed out a cloud of smoke. Jamie quickly lowered the window on his side to let out the smoke.

Silas took a few more drags to get his emotions under control, as he could feel his wolf restlessly roaming close to the surface.

His eyes flashed gold and Jamie noticed it.

“You don't know what I had to do to survive, the life of a refugee is not something that I wish for anyone, even my enemies” Jamie's voice carried a hint of pain that made Silas heart tighten.

Silas felt better and calmer after smoking the cigarette “I don't know what you have been through but I can assure you that your life will only get better from here onwards” he promised but Jamie laughed.

He turned to look at Silas face “Really? You are Silas Rowan Thalric, the heir to the Thalric-conglomerates and next in line to be the Alpha of Frostpine.

You have so many responsibilities and for you, your family's prestige and honor comes first” he paused to take a deep breath.

“Jamie..”

Jamie lifted a hand to interrupt him“No Silas, let me speak!” his face was filled with an unexplainable sadness and anger.

“We have been dating for a while now, and nobody knows about us, except your best friend who found out by accident.

You keep bringing up my ex, but he didn't hide me or made me feel like a secret. He showed me that it wasn't wrong or such a crime to accept myself, even when my own family saw me as a disgrace and threw me out at the age of fourteen.

He loved me and made sure I was safe and comfortable”. Jamie couldn't hold back his tears anymore.

“You must be thinking, why did you leave if he was so good to you but the truth is, I never left… He left me after promising that he wouldn't!” he yelled and punched the door.

Silas could see that he was letting out his bottled up emotions and chose to just silently listen despite the fact that he wanted to hold him, kiss him and tell him that everything would be fine.

Jamie felt like his throat was on fire and he took several deep breaths “He was a Pack guard, very loyal and loved his job. Then one day he was assigned to the borders, it was the time of the numerous rogue attacks before the peace treaty.

It was also the day I turned eighteen, he promised to come back as soon as possible to celebrate with me but in the evening, when I heard a knock on the front door, I quickly grabbed my birthday cake and rushed to open the door.

His friend was the one outside the door with a blood stained well wrapped gift. He didn't need to tell me before the cake fell out of my hands. He was killed by a rogue and I had to bury him as he was an orphan” his lips were trembling as more tears spilled out of his eyes.

Silas felt terrible for bringing up her ex and wanted to hug him but Jamie moved back.

“It's been two years since then and I finally met someone that made me feel the same way he did. Silas, I love you so much but there are just too many restrictions in loving you.

I have to wait for you to call because I don't know if you are with your father, so he wouldn't find out about us. We can't go out on dates because others might see us, I can't post our pics, I can't tell others about us…. So many f*****g restrictions!” Jamie yelled, the frustration in his voice was so intense that Silas didn't know what to say.

“Jamie, I will…”

“When? When will you stop treating us as a secret?”
