Chapter 18

A few hours after Zoran made Naelis fall asleep, she slowly opened her eyes, a bit confused at first then after a few minutes her eyes widened. “What happened?” She tried to remember how she ended up sleeping but her head was blank. She could only remember being taken to the doctor and parting with Silas, nothing else. She got out of the bed and that was when she noticed she was completely naked. Now, she was completely certain that something had happened and she was determined to find out the truth. Naelis slowly walked to the mirror and as she turned around, she noticed the handprint on her butt cheeks, this further solidified her suspicion that something happened. She couldn't feel any discomfort in her p***y which meant she wasn't f****d but someone definitely touched her. “Why can't I f*****g remember anything?!” Naelis groaned in frustration. She went to the bathroom, hoping that a cold shower would calm her mind and help her remember. She kept trying to remember but there seemed to be something blocking her memory, like someone had tampered with it. Naelis started taking slow deep breaths, hoping that she might at least remember something if her mind was calm. So she stood under the running water, eyes closed and mind blank, then she suddenly got a flash of a face. A young man dressed in guards uniform, talking to her in the hallway. She tries to remember what they talked about but nothing was coming up. Naelis sighed in frustration then she got another flash of the guard, his lips moving this time, so she focused on his lips. She was very good at lip reading, so she focused on his lips “Tam” . She frowned after reading it. “What's Tam?” she murmured, thinking that she might have read it wrongly. She tried again and still read the same thing. Then she suddenly realized that it could be the guard’s name. She hurried out of the bathroom, grabbed a Jean shorts and top from her bag to wear, she also grabbed her phone after dressing up before rushing out of her room. Naelis walked down the hallway as fast as her legs could take her, when she finally arrived at the guards quarters, she took a deep breath before walking up to a guard. “Hi” she said and the guard immediately turned to look at her. The guard’s eyes widened when he saw her “Hello Miss Haldrith, do you need my assistance” he gave her a respectful bow. Naelis smiled “I am looking for a guard, who goes by the name Tam” she said with a serious expression, but inside she was praying that such a person exists. “Comrade Tam has just been transferred to another province but he is still packing” The guard replied while pointing to the third door on the second floor. “Okay, thank you”Naelis said and hurried into the building, she rushed up the stairs and coincidentally met Tam , who was coming down with his luggage. His face was exactly like the one in her memory “Tam, right?” she asked and he nodded nervously. His face was filled with the fear of being dismissed from duty “Miss Haldrith, I am very sorry about what happened earlier. I don't know how I got into your room” he said with a trembling voice. Naelis frowned “You were in my room?” she asked and he nodded. Naelis felt odd as it was clear that Tam couldn't remember what happened as well. “Tell me everything you remember,” Naelis said. Tam quickly dropped his luggage and took a deep breath to calm himself. “Relax, I won't do anything to you. I just want to know what happened” Naelis assured when she saw how nervous he was. “I only remember going to the restroom then something hit my head and I lost consciousness. When I opened my eyes again, I was in your room” Tam explained. His explanation only made Naelis even more confused as she couldn't understand why he would end up in her room when there are so many rooms in the mansion. Did someone want to frame her? There is no way this is a coincidence and even if it was, then how would they explain their memory gaps?. “Was I already asleep when you regained consciousness?” Naelis asked him with a serious expression. Tam nodded quickly “Yes, you were asleep and Elder Zoran told me to leave and he also arranged my immediate transfer to a different province” he added and Naelis just stared at him with a stunned expression. “Wait.. Wait… You are saying that Elder Zoran was in my room when you regained consciousness? And you left him in my room?” Naelis asked and Tam nodded. She immediately turned around and rushed down the stairs. That was all she needed to know and whatever is left, she will get her answers from Zoran. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and dialed Silas number but he didn't pick. She tried it a few more times and it was still the same thing. She put it back in her pocket and stormed towards the citadel. On getting there, she rushed to the meditation hall where Zoran usually meditates but she couldn't find him among the numerous monks. She checked every single place that she usually sees him but he wasn't there. At this point Naelis was starting to feel extremely frustrated and was about to leave the citadel. If he went into the woods then there was no way she could find him. She sighed as she stepped out of the entrance. “Are you looking for Elder Zoran?” Someone suddenly asked her from behind. She quickly turned around to see a very familiar face. “Hello supervisor” Naelis bowed slightly and greeted. She has seen the man a lot of times and he was in charge of keeping things in order at the citadel. Naelis has spoken to him a couple of times as well. “Yes, he was supposed to recommend a new book for spiritual understanding for me” Naelis lied with a polite smile. The supervisor nodded his head thoughtfully “Elder Zoran sent a message that he wouldn't be coming to the citadel today as he wants to be confined to his room for the whole day” he informed her. “Thank you very much, I will come back tomorrow” She bowed slightly before walking away from the citadel. Naelis’s blood was already boiling with rage as she hurried towards the mansion. She was glad he was in his room, at least she can explode without holding back or thinking of what others will say. Ring Ring The sudden ringing of her phone pulled her out of her thoughts, she pulled out and saw Silas name flashing on the screen. “Where the f**k are you?” Naelis asked angrily, her steps not slowing down for a second. She was beyond pissed and Silas just had to call at this moment. “I am with Jamie… Wait, why are you so angry? Did something happen?” Silas asked with a worried voice. Naelis rolled her eyes at his question “I am no longer in the mood to talk, I'm on my way to get answers and he better give them to me or he will meet the other side of me!” she said through gritted teeth. “Who?... My uncle?” Silas easily guessed who had pissed her off but she didn't reply. Her grip on the phone tightened. She was pissed that he acts all righteous and upright but can't take responsibility for his actions. How dare he spank her?! “Nae where are you? Please calm down” Silas pleaded as he could tell she was way past the stage of listening to reason. Naelis rolled her eyes angrily “I am going to his room for answers and you better get here quickly if you don't want to see one of us dead!” she yelled the last sentence before hanging up. People around turned to look at her but she didn't give a f**k. When she finally arrived at Zoran’s door, she raised her hand to knock but held back. She noticed a screen on the side and placed her hand on it without thinking. Click! She was left stunned as the door opened without her touching the handle. How could her fingerprint unlock his door? Naelis quickly stepped inside, Zoran’s broad back came into her view, he was shirtless and there were a lot of color palettes on his side. He seemed to be painting something and was too focused to notice her entrance. Naelis raised her head and glanced at the wall in front of him, she suddenly froze and her mouth opened in disbelief. There were paintings of her, from infancy to adulthood. She stared at everyone one of them and a cold chill ran down her spine. Zoran finally noticed her presence and turned around with a shocked expression, staring at the door in confusion. Naelis finally got a clear view of his new painting. It was a painting of her naked in her bedroom. “What the f**k is wrong with you?!” Naelis yelled in anger.
