Ofa covered her mouth, though her scream broke free of the slipshod barrier, wracking the chamber in a piercing echo. Nevaeh had wanted to scream too, but horror had strangled it within her throat.
When the creature tossed the lifeless Lycan body into some hole in the wall, which looked like a sort of chute, Nevaeh couldn’t hold back the vomit that had been lying in wait to expel. Bending over she let loose on the ground at her feet, trying to stop herself because this was no time to lose sight of the monster. Yet, once it started, she knew she couldn’t, and let it run its course.
