~Alpha Mason’s P. O. V~
I am holding my Luna's hand as we are rushing her through the pack’s hospital. Her water broke almost an hour ago. Her contractions were getting closer. My son was going to be born any moment now. She was squeezing my hand as we wheeled her down the hall. Screaming with each contraction she had. Our son, James, is finally meeting his parents. I was all too happy while also being in pain from Tayla’s strong ass grip. We made it to the Luna’s birthing suite. Nurses and our primary care doctor make her comfortable on a birthing bed. I sat by her side as they got the information they needed. My beautiful, white-haired, red-eyed mate. She was sweating profusely with each contraction.
“Get him out of me, Mason!” Tayla screamed at me. Once the contraction faded, she would apologize for screaming at me. I reassured her that it was fine and I would take all the abuse she would give. I would often get up to get her ice cubes to chew on. The sun had already set, telling me that she had been in labor now for 4 hours.
“It seems our little James isn’t ready to make an appearance yet.” I chuckled as I leaned on her head.
“He better be. Momma needs a break.” I kissed my beautiful mate on the head. The long white hair stuck to her face. To me, she was the perfect mate. Another contraction hit her. I let Tayla squeeze my arm as hard as she could. The doctor came in shortly after and lifted my mate's robes, taking measurements of Tayla’s progress.
“Luna, you are fully dilated. On your next contraction, you need to push.” I looked at Tayla. She nodded slowly to our doctor. Another contraction hit as Tayla screamed out. I helped keep Tayla’s legs open for Doctor Rory to do what she needed..
The hours passed with Tayla pushing and screaming. I was starting to become worried. Though, her yelling at me and telling me she hates my guts says that she’ll be alright. I went back to letting her squeeze my arm.
“One last push, Luna Tayla,” Rory encouraged. Tayla only shook her head as she teared. “You must. He’s almost out.” Tayla gave one final push, screaming at the top of her lungs. “Alpha Mason, would you like to do the honors?” I looked at Tayla who was nodding for me to go ahead. I moved to cut the cord. My eyes widened as I looked at my child. The room was filled with a baby’s cry. “Congratulations, Alpha, Luna. You have a healthy baby girl.” Doctor Rory moved my daughter to get her cleaned up.
“D-Daughter?” I gave Tayla a passionate kiss.
“Daughter. We have a baby girl.” Doctor Rory came back with our baby wrapped in a pink blanket. She handed Tayla our baby girl. She was definitely Tayla’s and my daughter.
She had my skin color, but Tayla’s white hair. “Hello, little one. I’m your mommy.” We were both crying as we looked at her. I was so overjoyed that I kissed both of my girls' foreheads. “She’s f*****g beautiful, Mas.” I held them. My baby girl and my mate.
“I wonder whose eyes she’ll get.” I whispered as Tayla was closing her eyes. I took our daughter for now.
“If she has yours? I want to name her Saphyre Dianna.” I thought that name was beautiful. “If she has mine? Amber Sage.”
“Both beautiful names. Get some sleep, honey. You did amazing today.” I kissed Tayla’s head and watched as she drifted to sleep. Our daughter also fell asleep in my arms. When was the last time a female alpha was born in my family? It’s been at least 200 years. Now that I think about it, my family only has boys. I guess that is the reason why we never wanted to know the gender of our daughter, because we were almost 100% sure she would be a boy. Did I want a son? Of course, but she is here, and she is my precious gift. I placed Saphyre or Amber in her hospital crib and looked at Tayla. She was already out like a light. We all need to sleep now. I am still reeling. A little girl. The Moon Goddess blessed me with a daughter. I was so thankful to her.
-Three Days Later-
On August 8th, Saphyre opened her eyes. They were blue. She truly was a mix of her mother and I. She giggled as I gave her raspberries on her cheek. We were going back home today and the pack. They were going to be shocked that Tayla and I had a daughter. Letting her suck on my finger as she looked around the room in wonder.
“You are going to meet everyone today, little one. Yes, you are. And they are going to adore you.” I spoke to her in baby talk.
“Mas, don’t smother her too much now. We still have to have a party to welcome her.” Tayla came back holding a carseat and smiled at her. “She really is f*****g gorgeous.” I pulled Tayla in for a hug. After another 5 minutes, we headed out of the hospital. It was almost an hour away from the pack house. It’s not just a werewolf hospital, they treat humans too. We do have our own private hospital, but that is used for wolves who are dying. I didn’t want Saphyre born in a place that only really sees death.
When we got to the parking garage, I helped Tayla with the carseat and made sure Saphyre was secured in the back. Most Alpha’s that I know don’t like to drive themselves, but I enjoy being behind the wheel. Back before I met Tayla, I was quite a street racer. Of course, I had to put that away. She and I met at one such race. Once our eyes met, that was it. I pulled out of the race and spent time with Tayla. Now, here we are, 3 years later, with a baby girl. Tayla got in the passenger seat as I took the front. We drove out of the hospital with Saphyre cooing out the window.
We passed the city of Tigard, Oregon and entered our territory of Oakswood, Oregon. It’s a hidden city that no human can come across. A witch has been hiding us here for centuries. My grandfather, 16 times down the line, made this pack into what it is today. We number 5,000 wolves. However, 500 of those wolves are my warriors. The rest live day to day lives working as a human would. Many of them noticed our car and bowed to us.
My wolf, Cameron, wanted to meet his daughter too.
Cameron: She’s perfect, Mason. The mother certainly gifted us, did she not?
That she did, buddy. 200 years ago and she gifted us with a daughter.
Cameron: A beautiful daughter, like our mates.
We pulled up to the main gates of our territory. There stood my head trainer, Ryan, and his partner, Bradford. They saluted me and went to the car.
“Welcome home, Luna, Alpha. Is this him?” Ryan asked with a softness in his voice. I only laughed a little.
“Actually, Ryan, Bradford, meet your future Luna. Saphyre Dianna.” Their eyes when they looked at me could have a horse laughing at how wide they got.
“L-Luna?!” Bradford looked back at Saphyre.
“Yes, Luna.” Ryan went to the other side and started playing peek-a-boo with her. She was laughing and giggling.
“She’s beautiful. Congrats, Alpha, Luna.” Bradford leaned in and poked her nose, making her fling her arms in happiness.
“It’s been, what? 300 hundred years since this pack had a female alpha?” Ryan asked without taking his eyes off her.
“200, yes. Which is why I am surprised we had a girl. But I am happy that we did.” Tayla answered while handing Ryan a bottle for Saphyre.
“As am I. However, I wouldn’t change her. She’s my daughter and I will give her the world if she asks.” I looked into my rearview mirror, noticing that Saphyre was starting to close her eyes. So much excitement in one day. She’ll be sleeping for a few hours at least. “Alright, back to your posts, guys. Stop ogling my baby girl.” I let out a chuckle. They saluted me and went to open the gates. We pulled forward and went through the barrier that kept Oakswood separate from Tigard. We had claimed The Crystal Lake as part of our territory long ago. This was my town. I owned this area. Wolves bowed again and greeted us home. I pulled up to our pack house, well, more like a castle with 300 rooms in it. It was also 10 stories tall. I noticed that my Beta Tanner and his wife, Beta Female Winter, were outside waiting with Delta’s Elliot and Maddi. My Gamma’s were missing. I got out of the car only to hear the screams of a she-wolf I truly began to hate.
“Alpha Mason.” Gamma Anthony bowed to me as he held onto this wretch of a she-wolf.
“Gamma Anthony. Gamma Female Oliva. Why was she in my house?” I growled as I looked at this brown-haired, black-eyed, thinner than a normal wolf.
“Maddi, Olivia and Winter found her tearing up Luna Tayla’s clothing earlier.” He replied to my question. He emphasized Tayla’s name while giving this woman the ultimate death glare. “We already ordered Luna Tayla more clothing.” I gave a sigh as I tried to keep Cam from coming out and ripping this she-wolf to shreds.
“Kaylee, we have been over this!” I screamed at her. If she were in wolf form, her ears would be back, tail tucked in, lowering her body and whimpering before me. “You are not my mate! Now or ever!” I knew my eyes had turned black.
“I should be your Luna! Not that f*****g w***e and her bastard child!” I did not have time to process what she just called my mate and daughter. She literally screamed this at me. Cameron took control and shifted. My massive red wolf with pale blue eyes stood and bared his teeth at this cunt. He pressed his nose to where her heart was. Not killing her, but warning her if she ever crosses this line again, he will kill her.
Cameron: That is my daughter and mate, you are insulting! He roared in her face. She reeked of fear as he placed a paw on her stomach. Speak ill of them again, and I will tear you limb from limb, you insufferable cunt! Our wolves are the more aggressive of the souls. He meant it too, he would kill her. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!? Letting out a furious roar in her face.
“Y-Yes, alpha.” She managed to squeak out. He stepped back and let me shift into myself again. A pair of shorts was handed to me. She was cowering still. I went over to my Luna and daughter. Tayla was pissed off. I can see Meadow trying to claw to the surface. I grabbed my daughter as Tayla jumped out of the car. She immediately shifted into her pure black wolf with golden yellow eyes. Meadow was even more aggressive than Cameron. She bit Kaylee’s leg and tossed her into the large fountain that was in the middle of the driveway. Meadow stalked Kaylee.
“Meadow! Don’t kill her!” Meadow looked at me with a fire in her eyes that I had only seen when we were attacked by rogues. She wanted to murder Kaylee. Not that I blamed her. She insulted our daughter.
Meadow: I will let you leave with your life. Insult my daughter again, I will hunt you down as if you are a rogue. Seeing Meadow act so fiercely towards Kaylee had my d**k hard. She was so sexy, growling and stalking her enemies.
“Yes, Luna Tayla.” Kaylee scrambled out of the fountain crying and limping from Meadow’s attack. With the drama over, the 8 of us went into mine and Tayla’s room. Tayla stayed as Meadow until we could get some clothes for her. Beta Female, Winter grabbed a robe for now. I covered Tayla as Beta Tanner, Gamma Anthony and Delta Elliot turned away. Gamma Female Olivia was holding onto Saphyre as we talked.
“I cannot believe that b***h. Like seriously? Even after having your son?” Tayla and I chuckled a little.
“Daughter.” I corrected Olivia. “Meet your future Luna.” Their eyes were just as wide as Ryan’s and Bradford’s. Tayla and I burst out laughing.
“What is her name?” Beta Tanner asked.
Tayla took Saphyre from Olivia. “Saphyre Dianna Parker.” Saphyre was giggling and touching everyone's faces as they came close to her.
“She’s beautiful. Congrats you two.” Delta Female Maddi hugged Tayla. Winter, Olivia and Maddi cooed over my baby girl.
“To think, she is the first female alpha to be born in 200 years.” Gamma Anthony sat on one of my chairs.
“Has it really been that long?” Delta Elliot asked in surprise.
“It has. We need to hold a celebration. This is historic for us,” Tayla said. And like that, the men were pushed aside as the girls began planning the party. We went to my office and toasted for this momentous occasion.
Many hours went by and the pack was full of excitement. It did not take long for us to pull this off. I also phoned all of the nearby Alphas that could make it here within 4 hours or less. 40 Alphas showed up out of the 45 I invited. Those 5 hated to decline but they were having trouble leaving their territories as rogues kept attacking their packs. That was something I understood. As I greeted the guests with Tayla, who had Saphyre, a chill ran down my spine. I looked to see where this chill came from. Tayla and I were on our knees in a split second. It was the Werewolf Conclave. They are essentially our government. I know I did not invite them. So, why are they here?
“Alpha Mason. Luna Tayla. It is a pleasure to meet you both.” Elder Gunner motioned for us to rise to our feet. “I am sure you are curious as to what we are doing here. We will explain that later. May we see your daughter?” Tayla hesitantly allowed the Elders to see our daughter. As an Alpha, I dare not fight them. They are stronger than even the most powerful Alpha. They were hand chosen by The Moon Goddess herself to govern us. Old, powerful, wise and terrifying. Elder Gunner held my daughter as they said their blessing to her and The Moon Goddess. Saphyre was passed around as if each Elder had to hold her for a moment or two. Then he handed her back to Tayla. “Meet us at the podium in one hour, Alpha and Luna.” We bowed to them as they went to mingle. If I was not nervous before, I am now.
The hour went by slowly as I was sweating bullets. Tayla and I were standing at the podium as requested. The 10 Elders stood as Elder Gunner took the stand. He had a commanding presence towards him and his status as Elder was radiating off him in waves. He commanded respect as he cleared his throat. Using his voice, he addressed my pack and the visiting Alphas with their Betas.
“Crystal Lake, Alphas and Betas who are visiting. Tonight we celebrate a rare, yet special occasion. As some of you know, The Crystal Lake Pack has not seen another Female Alpha being born in 200 years. Saphyre’s birth marked year number 200 to the day.”Elder Gunner started off.
“The last female Alpha that had been born turned out to be a great and mighty warrior who we all pay homage to.” Elder Percy spoke up. “Yes, The Moon Goddess herself had been born into your pack 200 years ago.” This stopped everyone’s chatting and their inner voices went blank. I know this, because I too had no thoughts as he announced this.
“We, the 10 Elders, have been visited by The Moon Goddess as of late. She had spoken to us about a child born with white hair and blue eyes.” Elder Logan motioned for Tayla to let him have Saphyre. My fatherly instincts wanted to kick in and say no. I knew the consequences, however. I kept my mouth shut as Tayla handed Elder Logan our daughter.
“For many years we have searched each individual pack for one such child. Yet, we failed each time we thought we had the right pack.” Elder Bishop took out a ceremonial knife and cut his palm. Letting the blood drain into a chalice. I became fearful of my daughter's safety.
“That is, until 4 days ago when The Moon Goddess spoke to us again.” Elder Stephon cleaned the blade before repeating the process.
“She said to us that a baby with white hair would be born from Crystal.” Elder Riley did the same thing to his palm.
“So, we traveled to each pack with the name ‘Crystal’ in their pack.” Elder Trevor too repeated the process.
“Your pack was the only one out of 12 packs in the United States that recently had a baby.” Elder Brent poured his blood into the ever-rising chilice.
“When we investigated The Crystal Lake Pack, we found records of the last female born into it. And that she was destined to become the next Moon Goddess.” Elder Ashford held onto the blade as it sliced his palm.
“Since this is a historic event for The Crystal Lake Pack, we, the 10 Elders who serve The Moon Goddess directly,” Elder Axton pooled his blood into the chalice. “Make this vow. If anyone harms this child, they will suffer The Elder’s wrath and will be sentenced to death without trial.” The Elders passed the chalice to each other as they drank the blood. A shock wave went through everyone before a blinding white light enveloped my daughter. I held Tayla close as we shielded our eyes. Saphyre didn’t seem to be in pain as she giggled while Elder Gunner held her.
“Crystal Lake, your next Luna!” Elder Gunner held my daughter in his arms as he announced her. She didn’t seem harmed in any way. She was smiling up at the old wolf. Grabbing at his nose. I wanted to smile at her. He bent down so she could touch his nose. The Elders smiled at my daughter and placed kisses on her forehead. He handed Saphyre back to me. “She will be an amazing Luna, Alpha Mason. Have a pleasant rest of your evening.” He kissed her forehead once more as a grandfather would. “Goodbye, little one.” We bowed to them as they left our territory. Saphyre yawned and closed her eyes. So much excitement for her tiny self. Tayla and I kissed her cheeks as we left the party to put her to bed. She hasn’t slept through the night yet, so we found it safe to join the party once more.
Another couple of hours went by before 15 alphas requested that they speak to me. I agreed and had them come up to my office. I told them to leave their Beta’s since my office can only hold so many people in it. Some sat on my couch, guest chairs and stools, while some had to stand. I never realized how cramped my office was. I will need to do a remodel soon to accommodate meetings such as this.
“Alpha Mason.” One started off. “First off, congratulations are in order.” They all said their peace.
“Thank you, gentlemen. Now why have you requested my presence?” I shifted uncomfortably in my chair.
“Well, after what the Elders announced, we would like a treaty with you.” Another spoke up. Each had their fair chance of telling me what their packs could provide for mine. I didn’t need the money as I owned this town and had the wealth to keep my family happy and comfortable. Some I thought were good ideas, while others I thought were at best okay ones. I still missed what they were trying to get from me. Cameron stirred in my mind as we had the same thought. I just hoped I was wrong.
“So, you see, you could benefit from each of our packs.” A third stated. I leaned in closer.
“I see where this benefits myself, but not any of you.” I stared them down harder.
“As the Elders said, your daughter will become the next Moon Goddess. Why not ally ourselves with your pack?” A fourth said from my couch.
“You think my daughter will be that powerful, do you?” I crossed my arms. I almost didn’t want to ask. Cam growled in my mind as the thought crept into it. I could not get it out of my head.
“Well, yes. But not only powerful, she will be one of true beauty.” The first alpha said. That made me growl outwardly. “Not for any of us, of course. We do not mean to offend the next Goddess's father.” He raised his hands in surrender.
“Then get to the point. You are not only wasting my time, but my pack's time.” I knew my alpha aura was radiating off me. They all nodded as another spoke.
“You see, we all have sons that are in her age range. And we wish for you to have her take one of our sons as her chosen mate.” That was when I f*****g lost it. I roared furiously. My eyes had turned black as my own pack members whined and howled.
“I will not have my daughter, my newborn daughter used in a f*****g treaty! I will never mess with the mate bond! She will find her destined mate when she is ready! Get the f**k off my territory!” In a few short moments, Ryan, Bradford and Jinx were at my door.
“Very well. Since you cannot see what the benefits will be, you will now see the consequences. We hereby declare war on you, Alpha Mason!” They all left my office in a rage. Slamming my doors and stomping out of my land like children who lost their favorite toys. I sat down and rubbed my face. They wanted me, an alpha who found his destined mate, to give up my daughters? How selfish could they be?
Tay, come up to the office, please. Bring Saphyre. I mindlinked my wife.
Is there something wrong, babe? She asked me. I didn’t want to say it through mindlink.
Please? I would rather say it in person. 15 packs just declared war for my daughter. How am I going to explain to my Luna, the mother of my child, that 15 packs want her for their sons. Tanner, Anthony and Elliot. Please come to my office too. Bring Winter, Olivia and Maddi. This is a pack matter. It was. They all need to know what just happened to their pack. They all came with looks of confusion on their faces. Tayla sat down in my guest chair as she held Saphyre. “I don’t know how I am going to explain this without it seeming bad. But bad is exactly what it is.” I held out my hand for my Luna. She took it. “15 packs came to me and wanted to discuss treaties. I listened and was going to accept if their terms were good.” The women sat down as they all listened. “There is no getting around this. Those 15? Just declared war on us.” The many gasps and growls filled the room. “For Saphyre.”
“What?!” Tanner shouted.
“You can’t be serious!” Anthony screamed.
“Are they idiots?!” Elliot pounded his fist on the wall.
“Did they not hear the Elders? They would seek their wrath?” Winter asked. She brought up a good point.
“And what about Spahyre’s true mate? She isn’t even a week old and they do this to her?” Olivia was almost in tears as she hugged Anthony’s torso.
“I’ll f*****g hunt them all down!” Maddi’s wolf was climbing to the surface. “That’s unbelievably selfish of alphas!” Her claws extended and her canines came out.
“My poor baby. Mason, what are we going to do?” Tayla was crying. I shook my head as I pulled my girls into a hug. Saphyre was still asleep. Thankfully.
“I don’t know, Tay. We’ll figure it out.” I kissed her passionately.
“What can we do? Sure, we have 5,000 wolves, but how many are going to protect us?” Winter was also fuming. Again, I shook my head.
“I really do not have an answer for you, Beta Winter.” I just held onto my girls as Tayla cried. I wanted to cry with her because the safety of my daughter was now in jeopardy because 15 scumbag alphas wanted her for their sons.
“We need allies.” Tanner said. “There are still 25 other alphas here with their Betas. Maybe we can ask them for assistance?” I looked at my beta. He was right. We still have 25 other alphas on my land. If we were going to war, I hoped they would help.
“Go and bring them here. 5 at a time, please. My office is not spacious enough for all 25.” Tanner bowed to me and left the room with Winter.
“Call your parents, Mason. They may have other allies we can trust.” Anthony suggested. I was not going to argue with that logic. I nodded and looked at Elliot.
“Gather some offerings. See if The Moon Goddess is willing to answer a prayer for my daughter.” He stood and bowed to me. Taking Maddi’s hand, they left my office too. Tayla looked up at me sniffling. “Go put her back to bed. Return to our guests. They need to see at least one of us out there.” She nodded slowly and left to put Saphyre back down. Looking back at Anthony.
“This is a cruel mess, isn’t it?” He sat down next to Olivia. “Having a newborn in treaties.” He growled. “Disrespectful and not what an alpha should do.”
“I agree, Tony. Just heartless.” Olivia agreed. “I am so sorry, Alpha Mason.” She got up and came to hug me. Olivia is like my own sister, much as Winter and Maddi are. We hugged as she cried. “I can’t even imagine what you both must be feeling.”
“Anger, mostly. But I am also scared for Saphyre’s safety now. And I am worried about how many great wolves we might lose because of their selfishness.” We sat there in silence. I could feel Tayla’s heart being broken, as mine was too. That is our daughter they are trying to take from me and her mother. Cameron roared, growled, howled and made promises to rip their heads off in my head. Saphyre is his daughter too. Meadow must be roaring as loudly as Cam is.
“We will keep her safe, Mas. As your Gamma, I promise that no one will take her or hurt her.” I nodded to one of my best friends. Tanner, Anthony and Elliot and I grew up together. Our fathers held our positions before we took over at the age of 18. Now, here we are 7 years later. About to go to war with several packs to protect my daughter. I let go of Olivia and gave Tony a brotherly hug.
“I know you will, man. I know our pack will protect their future Luna.” I would die to keep my daughter out of their hands. I will also do right by her. When she is old enough, I will tell her what happened 3 days after her birth. I will not keep her confined, however. Keeping her on the move might be what keeps her safe.
Moments later, 5 alphas entered my office. They sat down and asked what they were doing in my office. “Alpha Conner, please, be patient. This is hard on my alpha to ask.” Tony bowed and pleaded.
“Gentlemen. I need your help.” I asked them. “15 packs declared war on us less than an hour ago.”
Their eyes went wide. “On your pack and daughter? Or just your pack?” Alpha Alistar asked.
“Would that matter?” I asked.
“Yes. If it’s just your pack? The Elders cannot do anything,” He answered.
