Simon swore violently under his breath when the car bearing him, Malcolm and Mason pulled up to the dilapidated flat house Venus was allegedly occupying. They had made good time, arriving twenty minutes before Venus was slated to return home from her classes. Malcolm sent him a startled look, one eyebrow arched in question. But Simon offered no explanation. His only response was a dark, brooding scowl, one that was echoed on Mason’s stony features.
