Cuinn stood, his chair scraping over the floor. “You should watch your tongue boy. Just because your father is the Captain, it does not give you leave to challenge me.” Tristan pressed his lips together, muscles quivering. “It doesn’t matter who I am or who you are. We are Feather Guards and we should be doing all we can to help the Riders.” Cuinn lifted his chin and folded his arms across his chest. “You mistake the fact that I am not acting on this with the notion that I am doing nothing. Do you think I spend my days sitting here with my feet up? No. I am helping the Riders. I’m keeping this place going. I’m doing every little task that they left behind. The Riders are miles away. Even if we knew for sure that they were in danger—which we don’t—what more can we do from here? Nothing. T
