15. Natalie

After Ayden left, I was able to relax. I just didn’t want to be around him, especially after hearing about Bryce and how he wanted Ayden to model with other women, it kind of angered me. That was something I didn’t want to hear and it even put me in a slump. I finished getting dressed, then grabbed my phone off the dresser before I exited the room. It was getting late and I needed to make me something to eat. My stomach growled at me as if it knew I was heading for the kitchen. I sat my phone down on the table for a second and it went off, ringing and vibrating at the same time. I glanced at the caller ID and sighed. It was Jesslyn calling. “I didn’t think you’d call me anymore.” I said as soon as I answered the phone. “Why would you think that?” She questioned. I walked over to the refridgerator first. When I saw there was nothing in there for me to eat, I shut the door and checked the cabinets. Again, all I got was a empty cabinet. “Natalie?” Jesslyn called my name. “Because your husband doesn’t want me around you. He says I’m a bad influence.” “You don’t need to worry about Alias. I’ll deal with him. Besides, you came around when I hated you, proving to me that you could be a good friend.” I smiled as I grabbed my keys and purse. “What are you doing right now?” She asked me. I walked to the front door and opened it, stepping out of the house, once more. “I have to go to the store.” I told her. I have no food.” “Great. Come to my house. I need a friend and I thought we could get to know each other more.” I stopped walking and sighed. It sounded good, but I didn’t feel like dealing with Alias’ mouth. Plus, I didn’t want him to jump on Ayden’s neck about me being there. “I don’t th….” “I’m not taking ‘no’ for an answer, Natalie. Bring your ass to my house.” She hung up the phone and I took the phone from my ear and stared at it. “She’s starting to get like him.” I rolled my eyes. *** I knocked on the front door and waited for Jesslyn to answer. Of course, I looked behind me to make sure Alias wasn't around because I would have been sent back to my car. The front door opened and I turned back around, staring at a smiling Jesslyn. She moved out of the way as I walked inside. "How have you been?" I asked her. She shut the door behind me and walked towards the kitchen. "I've been good." She told me. "Come into the kitchen and sit at the table." I placed my purse on the couch and walked over to the kitchen, taking a seat at the table. "Where's Mia and Sasha?" I asked her. "Mia and Sasha are at their house." She told me. "Where's the baby?" "Upstairs in her bed, sleep." "Oh okay." Jesslyn walked over to the table with two plates in her hand. She placed my plate down in front of me, then put her plate down across from me. She took her seat and dug into the food. "You were hungry." I chuckled. She glanced up at me and smiled. "Breastfeeding the little one is no joke." She told me. "She drains me every time and I have to eat more to produce more milk for her." "You're breastfeeding her? You didn't want to do the bottle thing?" Jesslyn shook her head at me. "I wanted to a special bond with my baby." She told me. "I can understand that." I dug into my food in silence. The steak she made was so juicy and tender. I loved every bit of it. Jesslyn cooked her ass off with this meal. "What about you?" Jesslyn asked me. "What about me?" I questioned. "When are you going to have a baby?" I shook my head at her. There was no way I was going to have a baby. I wanted to be a model for a very long time. Getting pregnant will cause problems for me like no photoshoots from different companies and less money. Who in the world would want to work with a pregnant woman? "I enjoy my job too much." I told her. "Sooner or later, you are going to have to settle down, Nat. Don't you want to get married and have a family?" I shook my head, then went back to eating. "Kids will ruin my job." I told her. "Why would I want any?" "Natalie, let me ask you something." I put my fork down and glanced up at Jesslyn. She finished her food and put her fork down. Then, her eyes turned to mines. "Why are you scared to love?" "I'm not." "Okay, let me rephrase the question. Why won't you fall in love with Ayden?" I raised my eyebrow at her. "Where is this coming from?" "I noticed that you guys don't hangout in public. Are you ashamed of him or something?" I shook my head. "I'm not... No.. I'm not ashamed of him." "Then, what's going on?" "I... I don't know" Jesslyn chuckled and got up from the table. She grabbed our dirty dishes and went to the kitchen sink. I sat back in my seat, watching her the whole time. Her question was stuck in my head. "Eventually, you're going to want to fall in love." Jesslyn told me. "I don't even know that." I told her. "I don't think I could see myself falling in love with Ayden. Yeah, the s*x is good, but... Us being romantically involved with each other is... I don't know. I don't see Ayden as a lover." "So, you're using him for s*x, basically?" Jesslyn glanced at me and I shrugged my shoulders at her. Then, her eyes moved to behind me. "What's wrong?" I asked her. I turned around and my eyes instantly locked with Ayden. And he heard everything from the way he looked at me. He wasn't happy at all. Of course, I got out of my seat, still staring at Ayden, who just stood there, not saying a word to me at all. Alias patted him on the shoulder with a smirk on his face. "Told you she wasn't shit." He said to Ayden.
