I got out of Ayden's car and slammed the door shut before I stormed into the hospital. Ayden really pissed me off. Besides, I wasn't in the mood to have s*x. I went over to the receptionist and checked in, then I went to the floor the woman told me to go. Once I got there, I saw Alias, Kain and Adonis standing outside in the lobby. Alias looked like a f*****g wreck. That's how nervous he was. Sighing, I headed over to them and Alias glared at me. "What are you doing here?" He asked me. "I called her here." Naomi told her son, then she glanced at me. "Thanks for coming. Where's Ayden?" I felt a hand on my shoulder and Ayden came over to my side. Alias glared at his brother and shook his head. "I didn't want you here, so why bother showing up?" Alias questioned. "Because she's my niece." Ayden told him. "I want to meet her." "The hell you are. You stay away from my child!" A door opened up and Mia came over to us. She looked from Alias to Ayden. "Jesslyn is not trying to hear you and your brother argue." Mia told them, then she glanced at me. "You can come with me. She wants all of the women in the room with her." Sighing, Ayden released me and I followed Mia and Naomi into the birthing room. Sasha was there as well. I waved to her as I walked over to an empty chair, taking a seat on it. I watched as Jesslyn went from pacing the floor to laying on the hospital bed. "How are you?" Sasha asked me. "I'm good." I sighed. "Just working." "Still modeling, huh?" Jesslyn asked as she tried to get comfortable. "Oh my god, this pain!" Jesslyn looked super uncomfortable. The way she tried to move around from her back to her side made me feel bad for her. That's why I didn't want a child. The things women go through just to have them was just unfair. I could never be able to handle the pain. "How are you guys?" I asked. "It's been a minute." I looked at everybody and realized that we were missing one. "Where's Nena?" Jesslyn smiled. "She's at home with her babies." Jesslyn told me. "She now has three children. One by Liam and identical twins with Tank." "Oof.." I responded. "How is that going?" "We don't even know." Mia chuckled. "However, we see her from time to time. You need to start coming over more. Maybe you would see how things are going." I wished I could, but... Work had been kicking my ass. On top of that, everybody was different from me. I was a mortal and they were... Not human. "I feel out of place." I told them. "Um, hello." Mia waved at me. "I'm a human as well. It's fun being around them because you can learn more about them." "I'll see. I would have to make some time." "I'm sorry, but something is bugging me about your job." Sasha told me. I glanced at her and she shook her head at me. "You have a life, too." Sasha continued. "You need to get a break." Being a model was hard work. In order to be the best, you had to make no mistakes. That meant coming to every photoshoot there was. I wanted to be a famous model and I wasn't going to stop until the world knew about me. "I can't stop." I told them. "My dream is to be a famous model." "Yeah, but even famous models that you know... take breaks." Jesslyn told me, breathing hard. "Ugh!" She got out of bed for the tenth time and leaned against the bed, looking down. A few seconds later, a loud pop was heard and we watched as a clear liquid spilled from her legs onto the floor. "Call her nurse and let them know that her water broke." Naomi told Mia as she rushed over to Jesslyn's side. "Looks like your little girl is coming very soon." *** Jesslyn screamed at the top of her lungs as she pushed her baby out. Alias and Kain stood on each side, holding her legs since she couldn't reach them. I stood beside Kain, watching everything. "Take a deep breath." The doctor told her. Jesslyn exhaled before she took another deep breath. I glanced down between her legs and smiled, widely as I noticed a lot of hair making its way out. "Jesslyn, stop." The doctor told her. Jesslyn stopped pushing and the doctor placed a plastic sheet near her lower area. Then, he reached over and took a pair of scissors from the tray. He handed the scissors to Alias and Alias took them. "When I lay her on your wife's stomach, we'll have you cut the cord, okay?" The doctor told him. "...Okay." Alias nodded. "I'm sorry, I have to push." Jesslyn told the doctor. "Go ahead." The doctor responded. Ayden walked over to me and we both watched as Jesslyn pushed a few more times before a small baby appeared in the doctor's hands. He placed the baby on Jesslyn's stomach and they stuck a blue bulb down her throat to clear it out. As soon as they took the fluid from her mouth, a loud cry came from her. Immediately, my hands covered my mouth as tears ran down my cheeks. "Oh my gosh, Jess." Mia cried. "Honey, she beautiful." Ayden left my side and I watched as he went to Alias. He placed his hand on his brother's shoulder and Alias glanced at him. "She's beautiful, bro." Ayden told her. "Congratulations." Alias smiled before wiping the small tears from his face. "Thank you." Alias told him. I smiled as the two conversated. They took the baby over to her bed and Alias walked over to there. I glanced at Jesslyn as I wiped my eyes. "Congratulations." I chuckled as I leaned down to hug her. "Thank you so much." Jesslyn sniffled. I leaned back up and turned to Ayden who walked over to where his brother was. Mia, Sasha and Naomi walked over to Jesslyn's other side and they congratulated her as well. She did so good and I was so proud of her. I glanced back over to Ayden and saw him caress his niece's little hand. Then, he turned to me. I smiled before glancing down at the ground, pushing my brown hair behind my ear. When I looked back up at him, he was still staring at me. "Uh oh." Jesslyn chuckled. I looked over at her and she laughed. "What?" "Maybe our babies will be close." She said in a low tone. I shook my head at her. 'I... I'm not pregnant." I told her. "By tonight you will be." Sasha told me. I looked at everybody before I turned back to Ayden. He was talking to his brother again. As I watched the two conversate once more, I couldn't help, but to think: What if I did have a baby of my own? What if Ayden was the father? Wait! No! Getting pregnant would be the end of my career. I can't have a baby. There's no way. Those thoughts ended when Ayden and Alias hugged goodbye before Ayden walked over to me. He grabbed my hand and leaned closer to me. "Let's go." He whispered. We looked at each other before I nodded my head to his words to me. I glanced over at Jesslyn and the others. "Can I come by tomorrow?" I asked her. "You're welcome over anytime." She smiled. "Oh and Ayden...?" Ayden glanced at her. "Be gentle." She told him. Ayden smiled as we walked out of the birthing room and down the long white hospital hallway. At first, we didn't speak. However, all of that changed as soon as we got in the car. Ayden sat there for a second, staring at the steering wheel. I shut my door and turned to him. When I touched his hand, he looked over at me. "Are you okay?" He asked me. "Why are you so quiet?" I asked. He started the car and shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know." He drove out of the parking lot. I sat back in my seat, staring out on the empty dark road. He pulled up to my house and drove into my driveway. I sat there, not moving at all. "Ayden..." I turned back to him and he was already looking my way. "Yeah?" I leaned over to him and we shared a slow kiss. When I pulled back, he just kept staring at me. "Can I spend the night?" His next words were. I opened the car door and nodded my head. He turned the car off and we both got out.
