Several hours later, Madas grinned across the table at Gril. She stirred the thick stew in the bowl in front of her. He was gazing down at it like he was afraid something might jump out and attack him. “It is vegetables, roots, and seeds,” she explained. He dipped his spoon into the broth and shook his head. “It looks like an eyeball,” he complained. She laughed. “It is a vision nut—called that because it does look like an eye.
