Caroline is in her room, surrounded by her bridesmaids dressing for her. As her mother's friend was snatching her clothes to fit in, her heartbeat started rising and fear of this unknown journey gripped her more than ever. She started staring around her room again for the last time and couldn't control her emotions anymore. The hidden tears in her eyeballs started dripping and messing the make up already done on her face. “Please, try to control your tears. It will keep delaying us dressing for you” her mum's friend said. Caroline nodded in agreement but couldn't just control it anymore and she needed to be alone for a moment. “Thank you all for coming, please can you leave me alone for some minutes” Caroline ordered with her tearing eyes and shaking voice. Her mum's friend has come to support her mother, so she can help do all she couldn't do for her due to her health. She orders everyone in the room to leave and she shuts the door behind her. She went to look for Mrs. Clement where she was dressing for the occasion. “My friend, you need to go and talk to your daughter. She just needs words of encouragement” Caroline mum's friend said. Mrs. Clement understood better and she rushed her makeup artist to round up on time. Immediately she was done, she made her way to Caroline's room. She knocked and no one responded. “Caroline my daughter, please let me in” she said calmly. On hearing her mother's voice, she quickly rushed to the door to open. “Mother, are you done dressing” she asked as she pull her in on the wheel chair and tried to hide her tears. “Yes. I am ready and you?” Mrs. Clement asked She sniffed her nose and replied “I am done, I just want to feel alone in my room for the last time.” Mrs. Clement looks at her daughter, she looks beautiful in the clothes. “This was how I looked in this dress on my wedding day. It even looks better on you” she said as she was trying to cheer her up. Both laughed at the same time. She saw a line of tears over her cheeks which had wiped off her foundation. “My daughter, sit down” her mother ordered and she sat on her bed. “Please embrace this journey with all positivity, I just want you to know you are not alone. I will give you all support you need to be strong in your marriage. Your father has known Mr. Robert for a long time and I am sure he will not do any harmful thing to you”. Mrs. Clement said. “Thank you mother, for your sake, I will do my best to make it work” she assured her. Both smiled and hugged each other. They are at this moment when someone knocks on the door. It's Mrs. Clement's friend “please let roundup, time is going” she said calmly. She covers the tear line with more foundation and finishes dressing for her. They all left the house to go to church for the wedding. Mr. Clement has been waiting outside the church for the bride to come. He kept checking his wrist watch over and over again and his heart was full of fear for the worst to happen. “What if she runs away again?” he thought. He took his phone and wanted to call his wife, as he raised his head he saw their car coming towards the church. He felt so relieved as he saw them. “What take you so long” he questioned his wife. “We are here now, that is what matters most” Mrs. Clement responded. Mr. Clement looked at his daughter, both frowned at one another and he forcefully held her hand to walk her to the Isle. As they entered the church, all the congregation turned to look at them, both put on fake smiles and started waving to them. “She is just a small girl,” one of the congregation whispered to another. “I am sure it's not the girl's wish, she has been forced to marry the old man” the other responded. They got to the altar where Mr. Robert has been waiting. He was smiling as they approached him, Caroline looked at his piercing eye and gray hair. He is a tall man with an athletic body and has a handsome look. “He is not bad looking, he is just old” she thought. The priest asked for the ring and Mr. Robert handed it over to him, he blessed it and said “On this very day, both of you Miss. Caroline Clements and Mr. Robert Williams has decided to become husband and wife, to love and care for one another till death do you apart.” The congregation applauded. “I will ask both of you the same question before I join you together.” the priest explained. “You Mr. Robert Williams, are you ready to take Miss. Caroline Clement as your wife? To care and love her till death do you apart?”. The priest asked. “Yes. I am ready” he said firmly with a smiling face. The priest handed over the ring to slip into her finger. “What else would you have said, you old man that doesn't do things for free” Caroline mutter these words in her mind as Mr. Robert was slipping in the ring on her finger. And you, Miss. Caroline Clement, are you ready to take Mr. Robert Williams as your husband? To care and love him till death do you apart?”. The priest asked. Caroline breathed deeply and didn't think twice before she responded with a furious face “ Yes. I will” she said sharply and all the congregation applauded them as she put the ring on Mr. Robert finger without looking at his face. “In the presence of God and man, I pronounce both of you as husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride” the priest ordered. Mr. Robert moved closer to Caroline and gently wrapped his hand on her waist to fill in gaps between them. He gently bent his head and landed his lips on her and wet it with his saliva. It's obvious the bride doesn't kiss him back. After the kiss. He holds her hand and raises it up to show the congregation their new wedding band. Everyone stood up and applauded them for their new beginnings. Caroline saw her mother among them, waving at her in her wheelchair, she looked at her and smiled, she is doing it for her no other person and at same time looked at his father in a disgusting eye as he was smiling at her. Mr. Robert raised his left arm slightly for Caroline to put her hand, so they could walk arm in arm out of the church but she felt reluctant until he looked at her with a command face reaction. She quickly holds his elbow and they walk gently as they are waving back to the congregation celebrating them. Caroline's heart was pumping faster than before after seeing the way Robert ordered her. “He looks more wicked than my father,” she said to herself as they were walking. As they stepped out of the church, Robert suddenly dropped her hands and walked as fast as he could to his car. Caroline was confused as her husband left her in the middle of the way. She doesn't know if to run after him or maintain the same pace as she has been walking. Before he got to where he parked, Mr. Robert's car zoomed off.
