“All hail, Darg,” I proclaimed with a grim laugh. “Master of the Chavas!” At that insult the entire cell full of men laughed brutally. Darg, seeing a man near him laughing with the rest, garbed the fellow and bashed his head against the stone wall with a resounding plop. I saw the man’s skull crack like an eggshell. “More food for the winged vermin!” Darg said loudly, and now all the laughing had stopped dead. I maneuvered myself around the cell trying to get into a good position for what I knew was on the way. “Come here, stranger,” Darg told me, feigning friendship. “I like you. You have spunk.
