Alpha Ceremony Prelude

Nixie’s POV: Thom and I showered together, in my en suite, and a simple wash had quickly descended into a carnal ordeal. Once he had lifted me, so my legs straddled his waist and pressed my back against the glass pane, giving him easy access to my womanhood. I wouldn’t complain though, he could join me for my morning shower everyday for the rest of my life. Through our sealed mate marks every touch had been heightened into something so unfathomably erotic, I had never been more breathless or felt more at home. ‘Think how complete we will be when you finish the mating with Eva.’ Taunted Lowe. She wasn’t happy that we’d not managed to mark her yet, but I had her mark on my neck. Thom had begrudgingly left after we were both dry, we each needed time to talk to our families and to pack our things too. We were of course staying for the Alpha ceremony tonight, but most of the visiting Alphas would be leaving the next morning. I stripped the bed, and sent it down the laundry chute, rather than have an omega do it for me. Then I dressed myself in comfortable clothes, yoga leggings and a butterfly top that hung loosely, just passed by bum, and had floaty sleeves. I tied my hair up into a ponytail proudly showing both new marks on my neck. I smiled at the sight of them, - I will mark Eva by tonight then the three of us will be ready for anything! - ... Moments later I skipped into my fathers office, he was there with my mum, Mal, Casey and their baby daughter Arla. Arla was so tiny, still just a few months old, I greeted her first, Casey rolled her eyes, and passed her to me with a knowing smile. “How’s the most beautiful princess in all the world?” I asked her, “I’m going to miss you gorgeous girl, yes I am, I am.” My mother walked up and hugged me. “And I’m going to miss you!” She told me, “when do you leave?” “Tomorrow, I think.” “Maybe you and Thom should stay here until things are settled with her chosen mate.” My dad calmly suggested. I looked up at him, handing Arla back to Casey. His face was concerned and struggling, which warmed my heart. ‘At least he’s not against the relationship.’ I told Lowe. She was growling inside my head. ‘It’s not as though he’s giving it his blessing either!’ She commented. ‘Pessimist!’ “Dad, could you of stayed away from mum? Or would you ever have asked Mal to keep distance from Casey?” I heard growls from them all at the idea of being apart from their mates. “She’s right dad.” Said Mal eventually coming to my aid, “believe me I get it, I can’t imagine ever saying goodbye to Arla, and Thom was supposed to be my Beta. I mean for goodness sake we’d have held this ceremony years ago, if he wasn’t going to be.” I nudged him. “Oh yeah and I guess I’ll miss Nix too.” He said with a long drawn out sigh and an eye roll. It did the trick though my dad chuckled and held his hand up, “very wise you two will make excellent leaders.” “Well you and mum taught us well” I replied grinning. Thom’s POV: My parents had taken the news much better than I’d expected, my mum, especially, had been thrilled she said because I had two mates she’d get twice the grand babies! I thought I’d have been taken aback by the idea of being a dad, terrified maybe. But instead the thought was turning over in my mind, and I couldn’t wait till their bellies were swollen with my pups. Raoul had agreed that it would be the only thing that could make either of them any more perfect than they already were, and he was eager to get started.  With that in mind I was hunting down my beautiful mates. It had occurred to me that I’d only properly finished the mating ritual with Nixie. While I wore both of their marks on the left hand side of my neck, I had yet to mate Eva. Having two mates was definitely going to be two things, tricky and a lot of fun! I found Zachary and Malachi out by the bbq, trying best to decide on how to light it. “What’s up ladies?” I asked them cockily.  They both growled at me. “Haha!” I held my hands up to them, they were both big guys, and even bigger wolves, I wasn’t little by any stretch, but they were both older and I’d only shifted once, so no need to annoy them too much. I picked up three fire lighters, and lit one, then began to juggle. I grinned at them both broadly, haphazardly juggling til all three blocks were flaming then knocked them one at a time onto the coals.  “Just thought anyone who didn’t know how to properly start a fire, had to be a lady!” “You’re such an i***t!” Zachary laughter at me. “Yeah.... maybe it’s a good thing you’re not going to be out Beta anymore.” Agreed Mal, clapping me on the back. Then he released me suddenly. “Dude, you reek of my sister!” Zac and I burst out laughing - I’m really going to miss these two. - I thought to myself. “Hey, so I was thinking....” “Oh dear!” Zac feigned horror. “Careful. Don’t hurt yourself.” Offered Mal. -or maybe not - I thought again. “Seriously guys, just for a sec, I was really looking forward to us all taking up our mantles together and ruling this pack. Mal you are going to be an amazing Alpha, but Zac I don’t think you should be his Gamma.” “What!” Snarled Zac, “What on earth do you mean? I’ve been training for this literally since before you were born!!” “Easy, Z-man I know, that’s not what I’m saying.” “What are you saying?” Asked Mal calmly. “That I think Zac should be your Beta.” I said. “Think about it, you two are best friends, and he’s been training as he said for such a long time. While Beta and Gamma jobs are different, you’ve grown up on the same floor as me and my dad, Zac. You know it better than anyone else in the pack. Mal if something comes up who do you want as your second, who will you be able to trust more than Zac?” Mal looked thoughtful, and Zac had a startled yet hopeful expression, which was almost comical on his big, tawny face. “You know what, I like that I think you’re exactly right Thom, come on boys let’s go let the old men know.” Proclaimed Mal, he must have mind linked an Omega, as one hurried up to mind the bbq, while we all went back inside. Eva’s POV: “Hello? ...Hello Elder Ezekiel? Can you hear me alright?” I asked into the phone. There was terrible reception outside of the pack house, but I wanted this to be completely private. I had not had good dealings with the Elders so far. “Yes Luna Evangeline, I can hear you fine. I was just thinking. Are you sure this is what you want? It will be a very big change for the pack, some of them may not take kindly to it, or be very forgiving, and your mates are both very young.” Ezekiel’s voice was crackly but I could hear him clearly despite the poor connection. “I’m very certain, Elder,” I replied politely, “they will be traveling back with me in the morning, and we can sign the divorce papers once we reach the pack house.” “I see well I must say it is a shame that you couldn’t make it work with Felix, and Margot, they are such a sweet pair. But as long as the pack will have an Alpha, then I see know reason not to grant you your divorce.” “Thank-you, Elder, I appreciate that, and we’ll see you when we get home.” I hung up the phone, now seething. ‘Really?’ I asked Skye. ‘Can’t he see that that is entirely the problem? They’re a pair!’ ‘Easy, easy, he’s old and stuffy.’ Coed Skye, ‘don’t let him bug you so. He never found his mate you know, so he doesn’t understand your anguish the last few years, nor your joy now.’ ‘You make it sound like I should pity him.’ ‘Maybe you should, to be mateless, is to never be whole, is wolf is senile with grief that he doesn’t understand.’ Said Skye. ‘How did a man like that ever become an Elder?’ I asked shocked. ‘Beats me, werewolf Elders are normally high level Alphas who are chosen by the moon Goddess to guide all the packs. Maybe she saw something in him.’ Skye answered. I started back to the White Star pack house, I needed to find Nix and Thom.
