Bonnie’s POV:
I was sat waiting by the side entrance, it was little used by the ranked members of our pack, but it did have a servants staircase that led to all the upper floors, coming off of it. I had a feeling it would be used today.
I smelt her before I saw her as Luna I had even stronger senses than the other wolves in the pack. Of course she would smell me too but I was hoping she’d either think I was further off in the house, or be desperate enough to come this way anyway.
The door clicked open.
I smiled thinly, it was as I suspected when she was missing at breakfast too. She had my Nixie’s scent all over her, Thom’s too.
“Good Morning Luna Eva, did you you have a nice run?” She blushed deeply.
Good - I thought.
“Luna Bonnie, I umm...” she paused, then seemed to pull her nerves together till she stood tall; “they’re my mates, Luna Bonnie. I apologise for not being present at the shifting, and again for missing breakfast. I know Nixie is your daughter, I hope you will except me as her mate.”
I grinned broadly, “Of course I’ll except you, you silly girl why would I have any argument with what the Moon Goddess herself wills? I had a thought you might be, Nixie couldn’t stop talking about you when you arrived yesterday.”
Eva relaxed visibly, “Thank-you, Luna, I promise I’ll be a good mate to them.”
I laughed - I couldn’t help it, she was so serious - “relax dear, I just wanted to catch you, maybe get some coffee together.”
“Oh, right...okay sure, we can do that Luna.”
“Please call me Bonnie” I said, gently taking her hand and leading her towards the kitchen.
“Most of the Alphas are out training with our pack this morning, do we should have enough privacy to get to know each other.” I said cheerily. “How do you take your coffee?”
“Black, please with a spoon of honey, if you have it.”
She sat down tentatively at the breakfast bar while I made the coffee myself. We had Omegas who did most of the cooking and cleaning, but I really did enjoy being in the kitchen, it reminded me of a time before I had met Henry. Not that I would change anything, I loved him more than life, but it was nice to remember when she was young and needed to be more hands on with these sorts of tasks.
I finished the coffee and began to cross over to the counter, but before I reached it in burst a very angry Alpha Felix followed by Margot with a strange look on her face.
