ANTONIO’s POV My helicopter landed okay the heliport and I made my way down the stairs, welcomed by the beautiful scent and air of New York. Coming back to New York would bring back all those hurtful memories I had worked hard to bury in my past, but that was where my company was and since I’m the heir to the entire Guerra fortune now I need to take care of everything relating to it. I took my sun glasses off like the way celebrities walked did in movies as I walked on the smooth surface of the ground with Matteo, my best friend beside me as we made our way towards to limousine waiting for us. “Welcome to freaking New York brother” Matteo cheered as he tapped my shoulders. “Good morning Sir Antonio, Sir Matteo ?” The chauffeur greeted as he bowed. “Hope you had an amazing trip.” “Yes I did Micheal, thank you.” I deadpan and Matteo nodded his greetings. He opened the limousine door and the both of them entered inside the car. “Dude you are just going to love it here. The girls here are bad asses and so beautiful.” Matteo said enthusiastically. I chuckled and shook my head at my best friend, “You forgetting I’m not you . And besides, not interested in the ladies, I’m only here for the project and when it’s successful I’m going back to Italy. I can’t stay here too long” “Come on Antonio, it’s been sixteen years already, sixteen fuckin’ years, just let it go man.” Matteo said. I sighed sadly and muttered, “Sixteen years and it still feels like yesterday” “Whatever man.” He waved off. We rode in silence and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. The last time I was here was sixteen years ago and it was the day I left for Italy after receiving the call from back home, and I lost a very big part of myself. I couldn’t stop thinking about that one person I person I left behind. “We’ve arrived sir” Micheal announced, his voice bringing me out of my thoughts. I nodded my thank you and came out from the car. I smoothened down my blue Italian suit and walked to the entrance of the company, my company. I was welcomed and greeted by three men and one woman in suit. They were apparently the ones to help guide me in the company “My name is Melissa sir and I am your personal assistant.” A lady who looked like she was in her late twenties said as she smiled and batted her eyes lashes at me. I scoffed softly at how horrifying she looked. If she was trying to look hot or whatever then she sure as hell didn’t look one bit hot, she looked like she got something in her eyes. I walked past her and walked into the reception with her, the three men and Matteo walking behind. We entered inside the elevator and one of the man filled me in about everything about the company. The elevator dinged and we arrived at the top floor. We walked out of the elevator and I was faced with about twenty men and women in suit, all of them with big smiles on their faces. “They look like creeps incase they don’t know” Matteo whispered in my ears and I couldn’t hold back the small smirk that appeared on my face. “Mr Antonio, everyone in the office came out to welcome you” Melissa said as she smiled. “Okay” I replied then walked past them and made the way to the office that was reserved for me. Matteo pushed the glass door and walked in after me. “Yo dude that was cold as fuck.” He laughed. “What was I supposed to say? You know I don’t like things like that and they were all smiling like creeps, I just couldn’t stay there any longer” I pulled out the genuine leather chair and sat in it. “Hhmm.. This is quite comfy” I hummed. “By the way man...” he sat on the chair in across me. “Did you notice how Melissa bated her lashes and pressed her silicon boobs out at you?” He snickered. “She’s got the hots for you brother” “Typical assistant trying to seduce her boss. Well I’m not interested, you can have her.” I said. “Nahh I’m good. I don’t like blondes and fake boobs” he laughed. “I need to go make a call” he said and stood up then left the office. I exhaled and stood up, looking around the big office, the office my dad once owned. I stared out through the big window, amazed by the view from up here. I could see different cars and people on the road, each one of them with their lives and story. “She’s out their with a new story and a new life” I muttered to myself as I thought about her. “Sir.” Melissa called out, her screechy voice bringing me out of my thought. “Is there any problem?” I asked, a blank expression on my face. “Uhmm... I was hoping you could come out and have lunch with me, you know, just so I can introduce you to the workers.” Mellissa suggested, her tone sounding really sensual. “Hhmm... And how exactly does me having lunch with you introduces me to the workers?” I asked the obvious, irritation beginning to crawl up my skin. She bit her lips and smirked as she came closer to me, “Well, I don’t know. I could show you their resumé.” “Thanks but I’m not interested.” I responded. He face fell into a frown for a few second and then she regained her composure,“How about dinner?” “I’ll pass that too” I walked past her and sat on my chair. She was beginning to get on my nerves. “Okayy....” she drawled and walked towards my table. “Maybe we could do something else the.” Ha! I knew this was where it was going. All that talk about launch and dinner wasn’t what was on her mind. I might as well just play along with her. I smirked, “Something like this.”
