Vesta woke up as soon as she heard movement outside her door. Merlot opened one green eye and then closed it again as Vesta slid out of the bed. She investigated the noise and found a brilliant blue suit sitting just outside on a black mat. Vesta brought the suit inside and spread it out on the bed.
“This is more my style," Vesta told her cat.
There was a firm knock at the door.
Opening the door, she found Condra Tae leaning against the wall.
“Condra Tae," Vesta smiled and waved. “Hello."
“Hello Vesta," the commander spoke in Vesta's language, making Vesta's smile even bigger.
The translator crackled.
