I woke up at the hospital wondering how I go there, looking around I saw Dante resting on bed side. He looked so cute , I stretched my hand to pay his head then I suddenly let out a cough, he immediately woke up.

“My princess are you okay”

“It’s either you call me princess, Cinderella or queen. I don’t really have a nickname now do I playboy?”

“How can you make jokes at a time like this, you literally had a shock at the event”

I stretched my hands to hold his face.

“Dante I’m fine, what’s a little shock I can’t brush off?”

“Kayda stop, I’m worried about your health”

“I’m fine, I am trying to remember what triggered me though. That seems to be the hard part”

“You can try all that remembering later. The doctor said you need rest, we can go home right now if you want”

“I’d like that, can I have pizza when we do get home?”

“No”

“You’ve never told me no, especially in such a cold tone. Don’t you love me anymore?”

“Quit your whining, your manipulation won’t work”

“Oh so now I’m a red flag?”

“I never said that Kayda”

“You did imply it Dante”

“Let’s just go home, you need to eat and have your medicine”

“Whatever Dante”

The doctors came in and helped me with moving. I was then escorted to the SUV, the ride home was silent because Dante chose to be strict and run a tight regime on matters of my health. We arrived home, getting down from the car I felt dizzy and lost my balance.

“Kayda, you need rest let me carry you.”

“I don’t need your help I’m fine”

“Quit being so stubborn”

“Quit being so strict”

“I’ve had enough of this”

He swooped me off my feet literally, I was kicking and scolding him to put me down, he didn’t listen.

“Dante stop I’m fine and I can walk”

“I’m not dropping you till we get to the room, you need somewhere soft where you can lay down for your body”

“Don’t be a perv I can walk. Put me down”

All my tantrums fell to deaf ears. We finally got to the room, I started kicking and shaking all over. Dante lost his balance and we both fell on the bed. His eyes were so sparkly and God he smells so nice.

“Later you’d call me a perv but all your cheeks are red Cinderella”

“What! You don’t know what you’re talking about, get off me you perv”

I pushed him away he started laughing, he then ordered the maids to bring my food and medicine. It was oats God how I hate oats.

“I’m just going to tell you to avoid wasting your time, I’m not eating that nor taking the medications”

“Don’t be stubborn just have it”

“No”

“Don’t make me come feed you”

“You wouldn’t dare”

He moved closer, sat on the bad and ordered the maids out. He picked up a spoon and scooped the oats

“Here comes the Cho Cho train baby”

“Ew get that food away from me, I want pizza”

“I’d cut you a deal, eat and I’d get Lucia to bring her tasty pizza over”

“You’re not trying to trick me are you?”

“Why would I?”

“Whatever, just give me the bowl”

I started eating the oats fast in ordered to not lose my appetite, Dante just sat there watching me

“May I help you perv?”

“I’m just amazed you don’t eat in a classy way, see spills everywhere”

He leaned him, used his fingers to wipe my sides and licked the oats off his fingers.

“Oats are yummy”

“You disgust me Dante, don’t do that again”

“ like you didn’t enjoy it princess”

“I’m done with the oats call Lucia”

“ you haven’t had your medicine”

“ that wasn’t part of the deal, I’m not taking it”

“Don’t let me bird feed you the medicine”

“You wouldn’t, just pass me the medicine. You’ve always been looking for ways to f**k me”

“What can I say, it isn’t fair I’m married to someone I can’t f**k now is it?”

“Abstain okay? You’d survive, keep your pet to yourself”

“Okay my queen, I really hope you’d be begging for him soon”

“Ew Dante, go order my pizza and get lost”

“Okay my queen”

He left the room, I was flustered and feeling hot down there. I was dripping, it’s been so long since I dripped.

“No I can’t be wet for the devil, I know he’s hot and all but I just have to keep abstaining”

I put my face into the pillow and yelled in it feeling so ashamed. I go to the shower and wash up, coming out I hear a knock. I open the door to see Dante holding a pizza box.

“Here’s you pizza queen, woah why’d you look hot fresh off the shower”

I yelled and slammed the down on his face, flustered again. I went to dress up and gather courage as I was about to walk the walk of shame to go get my pizza.

“Why’d he have to be the one to bring my pizza?”

I walked out the door with my hoodie covering my face, I looked up and realized Dante was no where to be found. I stopped Rose who happened to be walking past.

“Rose do you know where my husband went?”

“ he went to the office ma’am”

“Office? I’m the one in charge, don’t tell me he lied about the company being mine”

“ I don’t know about that ma’am”

“It’s fine rose you can go do whatever you were doing”

“Okay Ma’am”

“I’m just going to walk around to estate”

I went out to get some fresh air, while taking a stroll, I could remember the reason I passed out but I couldn’t remember the faces well. I started thinking to myself,

“Why would they want Dante destroyed? I know he’s a pain and all but that isn’t enough. Why would they even want to use me to get to him?”

All the thoughts and potential motives didn’t seem to sit right with me, I couldn’t bring myself to understand why. But deep down I knew I needed to start deep research on the Moretti’s.

“I’m going to ask his friends as much questions as I can, starting with Nico” I picked up my phone and called him.

“Hi Nico, could we get coffee and chat?, very good I’d send you my location when I get there”

I went to get dressed and ordered the driver to take me to the best coffee shop. We arrived at the shop, I ordered the driver to follow me in and order alongside me but sit on a different table.

“Good day, I’d like to order a cappuccino, he’d order what he wants put it on my tab”

I went to sit by the glass door and sent my location to Nico, in no time he arrived.

“That was quick Nico”

“I mean this is the best coffee/ scandalous spot in all of town”

“Scandalous?”

“ I keep forgetting you’re new in town, media people come here to spy on people and use it to chase clout”

“That’s disgusting behavior, I ordered. Let me know what you want so it goes to my tab”

“No way I’m letting a woman pay for me, especially my best friends wife”

“Point of correction, fake wife”

“Shush, don’t let the media hear you. Keep it hidden plus Dante really has a soft spot for you, it’s been long he’s been this way especially since Maria”

“That’s what I want to know, everything, including Maria”

We were interrupted by the waitress

“Here’s your cappuccino ma’am, sir Nico would you like your usual?”

“No just get me water”

“Okay sir”

Nico held my hands and stared into my soul

“Kayda, don’t go digging into things you don’t want to know and what’ll be to big for you to handle”

“No Nico! I deserve to know, I need to know everything about him. Everyone keeps talking about her, I need to know”

“Fine but you didn’t hear it from me, Maria and Dante have been suitors since we were all kids. She broke his heart and his trust, that’s all the information I can give”

“What about on his family, his sister and dad hates me”

“He’s sister hates everyone to be factual, his dad only cares about what’ll bring money, he never really cared about how Dante felt”

“Dante had a tough background?”

“Yes, he’s father already training him since he was ten, made him kill and all in the name of making him a man”

“What about his mom, she was always being abused by his father. Him and his mother just chose to go silent”

“Where’d his sister come from?”

“She’s a bastard, literally. One day a woman just brought her and gave her to Mr Moretti”

Dante’s mother was heartbroken, filed for a divorce immediately. Lost custody of Dante but she kept checking up on him. Dante’s a really soft person”

“Nico, I’m just going to be honest with you. Some people are plotting on his downfall”

“I’m sorry what? How’d you know?”

“It’s the reason I fainted the other day, I haven’t told Dante yet”

“I know he has enemies but I’m not really surprised”

“I’d tell him about it later. Thank you Nico, for this conversation. I really needed it, I’d be taking my leave now”

I got up and Nico and I hugged, I signaled my driver it was time for us to go home. In the car I couldn’t stop thinking about all Dante’s been through, we have similar childhoods but I still couldn’t let my gaurd down.

We got home and I thank the driver.

“Thank you, I’d be heading in now”

I went in and saw Alfred.

“Alfred, I know Dante’s been through a lot but I’m sad I can’t help. Tomorrow let’s host a little party for him, I’m tired and I’m going to bed now”

“Okay ma’am, you’re so sweet”

“Tell Dante I’m asleep, that’s if he comes home tonight”

I went upstairs and went straight to bed.
