Graduation

"You two drive safe okay" Their mom said

"We will" Marie replied

"Text me when you get back" She said

"I will mom" Marie smiled

"It was nice to finally meet you Becca" She smiled

"It was nice meeting you too" I smiled

We finished packing up Marie's truck and she hugged her mom. Who held her arms out so I walked over and gave her a hug as well.

"Hey did you two think you were going to leave with out saying bye" Connor said walking out the door

"Hey, we thought you were busy" Marie said hugging her brother

"I was getting some stuff done since I have classes today, but not till later" He said

"Sorry I can't come to your graduation. Well, i'm going to try, but this is my apology if I can't" Marie said

"You're fine. I'll be down at yours" Connor replied

She nodded and walked back over to me. I was fixing the stuff in the back seat because someone decided to just throw them in there.

"So, do I get a hug from you?" Connor said

"Huh?" I asked looking back

Connor just looked at me while their mom and Marie laughed. I stepped out of the truck and walked over to the boy and gave him a hug. After getting squeezed tightly, we both stepped back and smiled at each other. Walking back over to Marie, we waved back at the two and got in the truck. Now to make the 5 hour drive back to school and relax.

"Girl today is the day are you excited" Marie smiled

"Yeah" I replied

"I'm going to miss living with you" She pouted

"I know. At least i'm not going back to New York yet" I said

"What state does your cousin live in again?" She asked

"Kansas. She said I can come live with her. Pay rent, you know." I said

"You sure you don't want to come live with me" Marie said

"I don't want to intrude on y'all" I replied

"You won't. Plus, i'm already building a house. So it wouldn't even be that long" She said

"And when did that start" I laughed

"Last month. When I went up for Connor's graduation. My dad and I finished all the plans" She said

"He messaged me and said he wished I came. I just said congrats and I had tests all week" I said

"Yeah, him and Braxton were asking about you. Wow you come up once and got the boys wanting you back" Marie laughed

"I'm lovable" I smiled

She just laughed and we finished getting ready. We already stripped our room. My cousin was going to come to my graduation but she got called into work on a case so, she said to call her when i'm an hour away and she'll run home to let me in and help me get my stuff in. I did pack my truck already. So many bins and ratchet straps. Having a single cab means I have a decent sized bed, so everything went into water proof containers. That I brought everything in when I came out here. Marie is taking what I can't and just keeping it at her house until I can come grab it.

"Well good bye room" Marie said

"It was a nice two years" I said

"My family is here too" She said

I nodded and followed her down stairs. My cap and gown is sitting on my bench seat. Marie is wearing a dress and i'm wearing a jump suit cause I didn't bring any dresses and couldn't find any that I liked. I did find this jump suite though, much comfy.

"Hi girls!" Their mom said

"Hi" We both replied

"You both look nice" Their dad said

"Thanks" We said at the same time, again

"So, are you two ready for graduation?" Her mom asked

"I am. I can't wait to come back home and not make that drive ever again" Marie laughed

"What about you Becca?" She asked

"Yeah" I shrugged

"You should thrilled" I heard from behind me

Marie and I jumped and Connor was walking up behind us.

"Where the hell did you come from?" Marie asked

"Bathroom" He said

He stood with his parents and looked at us.

"So, are you going back to New York after this?" Their dad asked

"No, i'm going to Kansas to live with my cousin until- Well I guess until I figure something out" I laughed

"Ah, so more south" He replied

"Pretty much. They got good BBQ apparently so I should be good" I said

"Did she tell you she's building a house?" Connor said

"Yeah, about 20 minutes ago" I laughed

"Now I just have to wait till it's built then convince her to come to Montana" Marie said

I just shook my head and we got on with the day. Marie's parents wanted to show her something so Connor asked if I could show him my truck, we have to start getting ready anyway, so I said yeah.

"Oh, your truck is nice. Very packed though" Connor laughed

"Yeah, ratchet straps are my friend but barely needed cause it's packed tight" I said

"So, you're really going to Kansas?" He asked

"Yup, better then New York" I said

"Shame. I was hoping you'd come up to Montana" He said

"Why" I laughed

"You were fun to have around" He shrugged

"Oh really" I laughed

"Yeah. Made Black Jack happy" Connor replied

"I miss him" I sighed

"That it?" Connor asked

"Yup" I smiled

The boy just shook his head and I hugged him. I may have missed Marie's brother as well. And his friend, but him more.

"You should at least come up for the 4th" Connor said

"We'll see" I replied

Grabbing my cap and gown out, I put that on and we went and found my friend and the rest of her family. Time to Graduate.
