Day After

"Good morning Becca" Their mom said as I walked into the kitchen

"Good morning" I replied "Is anyone else up?"

"The boys are, they're feeding. How are you feeling?" She asked

"Fine thank you. I don't really get hang overs too often" I said

"I guess you know Marie does. But i'm glad you don't they're not fun." She replied

"Oh good morning Becca, how are you" Their dad said walking in

"I'm good" I smiled

"You were asleep by the time we got home last night" He said

"Was I? I remember being in the truck, but that's it" I said

"Yeah, you were probably half awake but walked to the room. The boys brought Marie in. Connor said you in bed by the time they came upstairs" He replied

"Interesting" I nodded

"Got yourself changed and everything" Their dad laughed

I smiled and we both sat down at the table. I mean I did wake up in sweat pants and a tee shirt, that i'm still wearing right now. Their mom finished making breakfast and put a plate in front of me and their dad as well as placing one more down and sitting down herself. Then Connor and Braxton came walking in.

"Oh look who's up" Connor laughed

"Do you have a hang over?" Braxton asked

"Nope" I laughed

They both nodded and grabbed plates and food and joined us at the table.

"So, should we take bets on when Marie will be up" Their dad said

"I'm gonna say noon" I said

"That late?" Braxton asked

I just looked at him and everyone laughed. We all finished eating breakfast and I pulled my boots on. Walking outside, I was joined by dogs and they went and did their thing. I decided I wanted to say hi to Blackjack so I walked over to the barn and he popped his head out as soon as I walked in.

"Hey buddy" I smiled

Rubbing the giant horses nose, I realized i'm gonna miss him when we go back to school. Not like I knew I was gonna see him again, but he's a good boy.

"Whatcha doing?" I heard

"Saying hi" I replied

Turning around, Connor and Braxton were walking towards me.

"Are you going to wear pajamas all day?" Braxton asked

"I mean, I could" I laughed

"Bum" Connor said

"Oh always" I replied

"Are they coming tonight?" Braxton asked

"I don't think Marie is. What are you two doing tonight" Connor asked

"Me? Nothing. I think she's going to the vet place over night" I said

"You ever been to the rodeo?" Connor said

"Nope. There's none around me" I replied

"Really?" Braxton said

"Yeah. Closest I got was 4H events" I nodded

"You should come. I mean Connor's not running but it's still the rodeo." Braxton smiled

"Maybe. Or I could just sit on the couch all night" I laughed

"Let us know. We're leaving at 4 right after dinner. Early dinner tonight" Connor said

I nodded and walked past the two boys then turned around.

"That mean's I gotta put on clothes" I yelled

They both looked at me and laughed as I walked out of the barn. Heading back inside, I went to my spot in the living room and plopped my ass down. Now to wait for the cranky sleeping beauty to wake up. Let's see when that is.... And here she comes. 11:47am Marie finally got up. I'm going to assume she's eating..brunch right now because she didn't come in this room.

"Well good morning" I smiled

"Shh." Marie sighed

"You do know it's noon" I said

"And that surprises you?" She said

"No" I laughed

She laid on the couch and we watched tv for a little bit. Today's a do nothing day. Mostly because she's working overnight tonight with one of the vets.

"Oh, have you ever gone to the rodeo" I asked

"A bunch of times why?" Marie asked

"Your brother and Braxton asked if I wanted to go" I said

"You should go. It's fun. I don't think Connor is running tonight cause he's not going insane but. It's still fun to go" She replied

"That means i'm wearing my last pair of jeans" I laughed

"That's fine, i'm probably going to be sleeping most of tomorrow" Marie said

I nodded and Marie laid on my lap. The boys also came in and joined us.

"Did you decide yet?" Braxton asked

"I guess so" I replied

"You sound thrilled" Connor said

"Hey I don't know what i'm getting into" I laughed

The two boys just shook their heads while Marie was falling back asleep on my lap.

"I'm hungry but she's sleeping" I whined

"Well wake her up" Connor said

"Mhmm, you do that" I said

"I don't want to die" He laughed

"You think I do?" I replied

"No. But you two live together" He said

"And y'all grew up together" I laughed

He just looked at me and shrugged. I glared at the boy and somehow managed to get up off the couch. I put a pillow under Marie's head and she stretched out. Shaking my head, I walked to the kitchen and made a PB and J. Eating that real fast, I went back to the living room and Marie was taking up the whole couch. The boys were sitting in the two chairs, so I just sat on the floor.

"Do you want to sit in one of these chairs?" I heard

"No, floors fine" I said

"C'mon Becca. Come up here" Connor laughed

"Where? There's no room" I said

"We can share" He said

"No, I'll just sit on her" I shrugged

Standing up, I looked at my friend and sat on her legs. She was laying on her stomach so it wasn't too uncomfortable.

"You good over there?" Braxton laughed

"I guess so" I chuckled

"Never sure" Connor laughed

I shook my head and soon it was dinner time. I'm still wearing sweatpants so I guess i'm going to need to get changed after we eat. So does Marie, because she's leaving right after dinner as well.

"Well, I guess it's a good thing we're eating early tonight because it seems like everyone has plans" Their dad said

"I'm not excited for my plans" Marie said

"I am" I said

"Oh you are, are you" Braxton said

"Miss, I guess i'll go" Connor laughed

"Shush" I replied

Everyone laughed and we ate dinner. Pork, pasta side, and green beans. Nice dinner. After we finished eating I jogged up stairs and pulled on my last pair of jeans and a long sleeve shirt.

"What does this even say" I said to myself "Oh"

It is a company shirt that I got when I ordered truck parts. Free shirts are nice, so are stickers. Pulling my boots I took my hair out of it's braid and ran a brush through it. Ahh poofy but decent. I don't think i've worn my hair down at all. It was in this braid last night but the braid is all kinds of messed up now.

"You ready?" Connor asked as I walked into the room

"Yup" I replied

"Oh look at you with your hair down" Braxton said

"It's never down" I laughed

"So you're like my sister" Connor said

"Pretty much, we have a drawer just for hair ties and scrunchies back at school" I replied

"It looks nice" Connor said and walked out the door
