The Drive

"So, how are you enjoying the office?" Their mom asked, you know. Her name is Trish. But I never called her by her name. I honestly just call her miss. And I call their dad Sir and his name is Rob.

"It's good. Way different then what i'm used to but, I think i'm getting the hang of it." I said

"That's good" She smiled

I smiled back and finished lunch. It's Thursday and I have off today. Marie was off yesterday. This is week number two and we leave next week to go to New York. My parents and rest of the family have posted on f*******: that they are in fact leaving Friday morning and can't wait. I can't wait to get my s**t.

"Well i'm heading to the office to get some work done. Let me know if you need anything. Feel free to come and go as you please since you have a key" Their mom smiled

"Thank you" I smiled back

I came over to hang out with their mom for a little bit. She walked out the door and I looked around. I guess I can go ride Black Jack. I'm the only one here right now, their dad is working and Connor is working at that hat place. Standing up, I made sure the doors were locked and I went out to the barn. Getting all the stuff out, I got Black Jack from the field and brought him in. Grooming him out, I got him all saddled up and we did our normal routine of running around the arena.

"Oh, they have barrels. You were a barrel horse. Wanna try it out?" I said patting the horse's neck.

Going into the arena, I hopped off and let him walk around while I rolled the barrels out and put them in place. I forgot these were heavy. Walking back over, I grabbed the reins and opened the gate. Hoping back up, we trotted out and I made this horse trot the pattern of the barrels. Then after going around the third barrel we gunned it. I had to fight him the whole time because he just wants to go. I have to get used to running the barrel pattern again and I don't know how good he is so we are not going full force.

"Alright, lets do some calm times around. Then maybe, just maybe, we can do a full run or two." I said to the horse

He stomped his foot and we ran the barrels a couple more times. He got his way. I gave up on holding up back after the second run and he didn't run me into a barrel. I was appreciative. I like this horse more then I did before. Man I wish I did this more when I was younger.

"Alright boy, let's cool down. You go walk and i'm going to put these away" I said hopping off

Putting the barrels away Black Jack was just following me around. Once I made sure it looked like I didn't touch them, I hopped back up on the horse. We walked around the arena a bit then I brought him back to the barn and cooled him off. Turning him back out, I cleaned up all my stuff and took the side by side back to Marie and I's house. I have no idea what to do.

"You guys doing good?" Marie dad said over the walkie

"Yup. Think Connor is napping. But trucks still good on gas" Marie said

We are about 10 hours in to this drive. I definitely slept a few good hours.

"You know, Marie. My ass still hurts" I said

"My hand still hurts" Marie laughed

"Well that's your fault" I huffed

"Booty shorts" Marie laughed

"Oh just wait until we get to the next rest stop. I swear to god" I said

"I'm going to sprint. You have to let Connor out anyway so I have time" Marie said

I shook my head and looked at my phone. Scrolling through social media, we got another four hours under our belt and made a gas stop. Which is also going to be a bathroom stop.

"Bye" Marie said and ran

"This b***h" I laughed

"Did I miss something?" Connor asked

"No" I replied

We both got out of the truck and he started filling her truck up. I used the bathroom and came out to Marie standing next to her brother. So I walked up and smacked her in the ass. It was loud.

"Ow" Marie cried

"Pay back and that didn't even hurt my hand" I smirked

"I'm taking a nap now" She pouted

"I'm driving" Connor laughed

Marie got in the back seat of the truck and Connor walked over to his parents. I threw out some of our trash before hopping back in my seat and waiting for Connor to get in. We are a little under half way there. I think we are going to drive for a few more hours then get a hotel for the night. So hopefully we only have about 8 or 9 hours to drive tomorrow and we can have a good day and a half in the city before going to my house and making this drive all over again.

"Okay, so it's about 5 more hours to the hotel. So we'll get in around 10pm." Connor said

I nodded and we hit the road again. Hopefully we can make these last five hours with out stopping. I just have to make sure not to down a bottle of what ever we have left.

"Hey Becca. Can you grab me a bag of gold fish?" Connor asked

"Oh gold fish sound like a good idea" I said

Turning around I glanced around and saw them at the bottom. Sighing, I unclipped my seat belt and stretched to grab two bags of gold fish. We got a box of the snack bags, with a lot of different snacks too. Sitting back down Connor had a red tint on his cheeks.

"You know, if you take your eyes off the road for too long it could cause an accident" I said handing him the bag

"I wasn't staring I swear" He said

"Then why's your face red" I laughed

"I- sorry" He said

I laughed and re clipped my seat belt, before sending a glare Connors way.

"What" He laughed " I said I was sorry"

"At least you didn't smack me in the ass because I would of elbowed you in the head" I said

"So violent" Connor laughed

"Hey, your sister smacked me in the ass this morning" I said

"Is that why you smacked her before she got in the truck" He asked

"Yup. Pay backs a b***h" I smiled

Connor and I chatted while he drove and Marie joined in when she woke up. About 5 hours later, their parents pulled off the highway and into a hotel parking lot. We booked two rooms here, their parents in one and Marie, her brother, and I in the other. We booked here last night so Connor was included this time. And for the way home.

"Alright we are all checked in, here are the room keys" Their mom said walking over to us.

I grabbed the plastic card and Connor handed me my back pack. I told them how I packed when I drove out to college, and they liked the whole, pack a back pack for the hotel so you're not lugging a bag around. I also packed a duffel bag for the hotel. I don't really use huge suite cases most of the time. Heading inside, we went to our rooms and I laid on one of the beds. There were two full beds. Marie and I are sharing one, while Connor gets the other to himself.

"I'm so hungry" Marie said

"Same" I replied

"I think their buffet was still open" Connor said

Marie and I looked at each other then jumped off the bed. I made sure I had the room key and we jogged out into the hallway. Waiting by the elevator, Connor came walking over and joined us for the ride down. Then we all walked together to their small buffet with a small amount of food left.

"How much is the buffet?" Marie asked

"Are you three staying here?" The man asked

"Yeah" I said and held up the room key

"It's free for guests. So is the breakfast buffet in the morning. Help yourselves" He said

He said thanks to the man and got plates. Quickly eating, we made our way back to the room and crashed.

"How much longer?" Marie asked

"I don't know" I said

"Well you're from around here. Aren't we in your state?" She asked

"No we're in PA. Which is better then my state I think" I laughed

"Ugh. I want lunch" Marie sighed

"Cool" I laughed

"You ate the most this morning" Connor laughed

"Hey their breakfast was good" Marie pouted

It was a good spread of food. I'm surprised they had it ready at 5am when we were leaving. I mean they were just putting it out and said we could grab some.

"Alright kids, we're stopping for gas and your mother needs to use the bathroom" Their dad said

Pulling off the highway, we pulled into the rest stop and all walked inside. I used the bathroom cause I know if I don't, I will need to in like an hour and I'm pretty sure we still have about 3 hours left of this drive. We are almost all the way through Pennsylvania, so that means we are almost to the city and it'll be noon.

"Can we get lunch" Marie cried

"Sure" Their dad said

She ran. I looked at Connor who just shrugged his shoulders and we went and found her in the Chick-Fil-A line. Getting our food we took it back to her truck and gassed up before getting back on the road and eating while we drive. Marie drove into the rest stop and i'm going to finish up the drive since I drove a truck in the city. Once we got into New Jersey, I went in front of their parents and finished the drive. They have the GPS on for the hotel but i've stayed at this hotel so I sadly know exactly where it is. Going over the bridge I drove around and pulled into the parking garage. Showing the guy the reservation, we got our spot number and went up to the fifth floor. Parking next to each other, we grabbed our bags and headed into the hotel part.

"So, how many times have you stayed here?" Marie asked

"A couple. When I took trips to the city for different things I would stay here, it's a nice hotel in a good spot and not stupid expensive" I said

"When's the last time you stayed here?" Their mom asked

"Oh, years ago" I laughed

Checking into our room, we put our bags in and headed out into the city. Now I get to be a tour guide. Pulling my phone out, I texted Even we were in the city. I also sent a snapchat to Braxton of this family just staring at everything. They are in Awe. I guess the one thing I will miss about the east coast is going to the Jersey beaches. They are nice. I mean, I can always make Marie fly out here with me and we can rent a car for the week and come down to one of them.

We spent the whole day walking around the city, I showed them a bunch of stores they loved and we even stopped at a few food places because this family can eat. We even saw all the typical sites in the city. Now i'm exhausted from playing tour guide and I can't wait to go to sleep. We had dinner at a nice restaurant and I don't think we came back to the hotel once today. So we have a lot of bags right now. I guess the good thing about driving places instead of flying is you can buy what ever you want because there's no weight limit. Just have to shove it in the trucks. They both put bed covers on their trucks so when we drive through storms we don't have to worry about anything getting wet. Marie always has one on her truck but their dad had to dig his out of one of their shed. That was fun.

"Thank you for showing us around today hun. You know a lot about the city" Their mom said

"No problem" I replied

"So what's the plan for tomorrow?" Connor asked

"Even is going to message me when my family leaves, then we can either head straight there or go do anything you guys didn't get to do today then head about an hour and a half west." I said

They all nodded and we took turns using the bathroom and getting changed. Connor made a bed on the floor and we all went to sleep. Poor kid.
