Lunch Date

"Good morning" Marie said walking in the door

"Morning" I chuckled

"How'd you sleep?" She asked

"Not bad, how was the rest of work?" I replied

"Not too bad. We had that one emergency surgery, rest was just checking up on patients" She nodded

"Ah.. Apparently your brother needs to get laid" I laughed

"And how the hell did that come up" Marie laughed while looking at me, pausing her search through the fridge

"Well, we hugged after unloading Black Jack and his belt buckle was jabbing me. Then I think he joked saying at least it's not his d**k, or I did I don't remember. But I told him if just a hug gets him a b***r then he needs to get laid. He said it didn't but he does in fact need to get laid and apparently Tinder and all those are not working out" I nodded

"I.. You know what. I'm just going to go to bed on that note. You have fun with my brother" Marie said and walked away

"I never said I wanted to sleep with your brother" I laughed

She stopped and looked at me then nodded her head.

"I now realize what I said. That is not what I meant. But, if it ends up turning into that whelp. At least I know you won't screw him over. Good night" Marie said

I just blinked and watched her walk into her room. Okay then. Finishing my cereal, I looked around and sighed. I don't know what to do today. Maybe i'll go walk around in town. After I sit on the couch and watch tv. After watching two episodes of Chicago Fire, I decided to head into town. Parking in a spot I hopped out and looked around.

"Okay. I'm hungry, but this is a cute shop" I said

Walking in, there were little knick knack things and soaps and some pet things. You know, bringing my child hoods dogs ashes over made me miss having a pet. It's been, 11 years since I had a pet. Sigh. Looking around, I got a little thing for the smoker outside and a soap. It smells nice. Walking outside, I looked around again and saw Connor's store. I think that's the store he works at. I don't know but it's called CowLot and it says it's a hat store so i'm going in regardless because it looks interesting. Walking in the door, I looked around and I was right, this is the store he brought me to. Walking by the counter I saw Connor walk from the cashier counter.

"Hey Becca. What are you doing here?" He asked

"I am walking around the town" I said

"Nothing to do?" He laughed

"Nope" I nodded

"So you came to visit me? How sweet" He smiled

"I mean, I couldn't remember if this is where you worked but the store looked interesting so.." I chuckled

"Whatcha buy?" He asked nodding towards my bag

"A soap and a little tray thingy for the smoker." I said

"Nice. Hey, did you eat lunch yet?" He asked

"No, I was going to do that next why?" I asked him

"Well, I was about to take my lunch break. And I didn't bring anything today and was planning on grabbing something" Connor replied

"Oh" I nodded

"Would you care to join me?" He asked

"I would love to" I chuckled

"Oh Connor's got a lunch date" One of the kids said from behind the counter

"Shut up" Connor said pointing to the kid "I'll be back"

I chuckled and waved and we walked out the door. Going down the street there were so many people out and about. Does nobody in this town work Wednesday's? Weird. Coming to a small mom and pop shop we walked inside and ordered lunch, of course I wasn't allowed to pay for mine. I think this is the same place Marie and I came my first time here. I got a burnt ends sandwich, I think it is. Getting our food, Connor motioned me outside and we sat at one of the tables.

"So, how's work been this morning?" I asked

"Not bad. I few people came in and got hats. Been doing some online orders. What have you done?" He asked

"Ate some cereal, then watched tv" I laughed

"So productive" He laughed

"Then I came here, and walked around" I smiled

"Girl you need some friends" He laughed

"I have three friends. Marie, you, and Braxton. That's it. I don't even hang out with Braxton cause really he's your friend" I said

"Stealing my friends are we" Connor said

"Just the one" I smiled

"That's fine. You know, we were talking about you last night" Connor laughed

"Who?" I asked

"Braxton and I" He replied

"Why..?" I asked

"He asked how you did since your ass went to sleep even though you had off today" He said

"Ah, I like my sleep sorry" I nodded

"We were also talking about other things and..He said he sends you shirtless pictures all the time" Connor said giving me a look

"He does" I nodded

"And you always tell him he's sexy" Connor laughed

"I do" I chuckled

"Are you two like.. talking?" He asked

"Nope" I shrugged

"Then... is he just sexy?" Connor asked

"Yup" I laughed "Apparently, due to my lack of social skills i'm a flirt. But we got that out of the way real fast so we just flirt with each other for shits and giggles and I get shirtless pics from your friend."

"Oh" Connor said

"He's what, two years older. And you're a year. I need to find some friends man. Maybe next tuesday i'll go to the bar or something" I said

"With who" He laughed

"My self. Then i'll be forced to make friends" I said

"You do know the only people who go to the bar around here on Tuesday's are drunks and weirdos" Connor said

"I mean I could qualify as one" I shrugged

"When, even you said yourself you don't even drink that much." He said "I do have one more question though"

"Shoot" I said

"Did you actually like the view" He smirked

I looked at him for a second then chuckled. I don't know how to answer that cause I don't want to tell him yes.

"Maybe" I shrugged

He smiled and we threw out our trash. Grabbing my bag we started back and I looped my arm around his.

"Yes?" He said looking at me

"Thanks for being my lunch date" I smiled

"Any time" He smiled back

"Now, what are some good shops since I literally have the rest of the day until your sister wakes up" I sighed

"I mean there's small shops and food. Drug store" Connor laughed

"Ah yes the drug store, cause I really need to go there" I said

"I mean if you need some drugs" He smiled

"Or condoms" I nodded

"And what do you need those for missy" He asked

"Hey, you're not the only one with Tinder" I smirked and walked away from him

"Woah woah, wait up. Who are you trying to get with" Connor asked

"Well considering I have yet to swipe right on anybody, no one" I pouted "Guys around here just suck"

"Thanks Becca" Connor said

"Well, if you would like. You can help me pick out a tinder date because so far they all look like they suck" I said

"I mean, i'm not doing anything after work" Connor shrugged

"Would you like to come over then?" I asked

"Sure. I think my parents are going out tonight so what are you making for dinner ma'am" Connor said

"Guess I should take something out" I laughed

He smiled and we came back to his store, I gave him a hug out front and he headed inside, I wandered around for another half an hour before hoping in my truck and heading back home. Now I need to look through the freezer and find food. Oh, burgers. That was easy. Getting the ground meat out, I set that on the counter and sat my ass back on the couch.
