“A promise is a promise and I did not want to ruin your day. It’s your first day at Easter high. Why did you come to the school on the last day by the way?” Elina asked from the boy. She was not ready to look at the boy’s face.
“Yeah, I moved here early in the morning today with my parents as my father got a job in the town. And we’re staying at our aunt’s house for now till we get the house. And this my cousin comes to this school you might know her. Hey, what’s your name? sorry I forgot to ask!” said the new boy.
“Oh, that’s fine! It’s Elina. I mean my name is Elina. My friends call me Eli.” Said Elina with a smile on her face.
“Wait! Did you just say Elina?” said the boy with a surprised look on his face.
“Yes, but why? I said Elina.” Elina replied. She was totally surprised because of the boy’s face.
“You are Elina! I can’t believe my eyes. I’ve been looking for you all over the school. My father got a job in the town and we had to move. Until we get a house My mom decided to stay at your house for some time. Oh! I’m sorry. It’s me Eric! Your cousin.” Said the boy. He was talking as someone who was about to fall off of a hill and wanted to say his last words.
After a few minutes Elina came to understand the situation.
“Oh! No are you serious? You are Eric? My cousin? But why did you come to my school? And why?” Elina was helpless but to say the things that were in her mind. She knew that she is asking inappropriate questions from his cousin.
Elina realized that there’s no way our of this.
“Oh… I thought it’s going to be great if we are in the same school. After all I’m so excited we are in the same class! This is what I wanted from the beginning. But I never imagined it this way! By the way is it uncomfortable for you if I come to this school?” Eric asked.
Elina was disappointed and she felt nauseous. Because of her cousin Eric, she thought that she is going to lose her happiness forever.
“Oh no! that’s not it! I’m just surprised.” She replied to Eric.
