CHAPTER THREE

The workday had been rather uneventful, with minimal stress and tasks to complete. The following day, Chloe, a co-worker and friend, was absent, leaving Diana to manage her tasks alone. Despite the absence of her friend and the overwhelming silence from Dylan, her boss, regarding any work assignments, Diana persisted in seeking out tasks. She constantly visited Dylan's office, peppering him with questions and requests for work, knowing that her persistence would eventually prompt him to give her a task. This routine continued for two weeks, yet despite their frequent encounters, Diana could never get a good look at Dylan's face. Whenever she approached, he was either turned away or preoccupied with his computer or phone.
