Those dark eyes looked me up and down, not ignoring the slightest detail, his eyes fixed on my exposed neck. He had noticed my mating mark, he growled.
"Is this serious, Luke?" With his face clenched he approached me, I grabbed a butcher knife with agility and went into attack mode. "Wow!" He raised his arms. "Calm down, I won't hurt you." With my legs stiff, I took several steps back, opening the back door. I would run to the village for help, it was the only option. I completely ruled out calling the alpha, it would be a problem if he found out I left without his permission and attracted an enemy to the cabin.
"Stay away, wolf," I said, stepping out while still looking at him, his face took on a darker tone and without warning he pounced on me. I tried to stab him in the neck with the knife, I calculated it coldly, every move. But I found myself pressed against the floor with a simple twist he made on my arm. I let out a cry of anger. "Fine, kill me." I tried to struggle, but he was not lightweight at all, my face was against the cold snow again, I would get sick if I continued like this, that was the least of my worries. I would die if I didn't do something.
I concentrated my energy throughout my body and a shockwave pushed him away. I stood up and didn't hesitate to run towards the village, it was more than 20 kilometers away, but there were some small towns near the cabin. That was my goal, hopefully I approached the wooded area, there I would get lost more easily and be out of danger.
"Silly wolf," I sang as I entered the forest, I took two steps and again he was on top of me.
"I must admit, you're slippery," I groaned as I felt my arms twisted behind my back. "Tell me, what's your name?"
"I don't talk to strangers," I said sullenly, his hand pressed my head against the cold and hard root, my nose was also proving it. He released my head and I lifted it to look at him sternly. "Even less when they attack me."
He looked at me with indignation in his eyes.
"Me? But we saved you," he rolled his eyes. His heavy body was on my legs and with one of his hands he held mine behind my back.
"Well, as I saw it, your wolf there wanted to eat me. He was toying with me like a cat with a mouse," I complained trying to wriggle under him, he pressed harder and I whimpered. "Just let me go."
I heard his strident laughter.
"I really can't believe it, Luke, why did you save her? Now I'll have to kill her," I stayed still when he said that. He seemed to be having a conversation with his inner wolf, I furrowed my eyebrows and my nose gathering all the strength I had. I wanted to get him off me, but none of my attempts worked. My face was a whole dilemma and he started mocking me.
"You look really pathetic," he scoffed at me, I rolled my eyes again. "I'm surprised that as an omega you're able to defend yourself a little, who taught you?"
"Nobody," I said reluctantly. "I thought you were going to kill me? Just do it if you're going to. For an alpha, you doubt too much."
I saw his jaw tense and I knew I had provoked him, I smiled sardonically and mocked him. He really seemed like he would kill me, but I strangely felt calm. He growled standing up like an elastic.
"Respect your alpha," I shook myself looking up at him. The guy was tall, very handsome. His straight jaw with a thin beard covering it. His eyes were dark and his hair fell over his forehead. Fair skin and with a uniform I didn't recognize.
"Excuse me," he seemed to be someone important, I looked at the badges he had on his uniform and sighed seeing they were from our village. "I-I'm sorry... It's just that a while ago..." I lowered my gaze, how embarrassing this was — "Could you not tell anyone you were here?"
I saw him hesitate with his gaze, but he finally nodded.
"Let's go inside, you're shaking," I went to his side, thinking about how to ask him to leave. If the alpha returned soon, everything could be misinterpreted. We entered and I sat by the fire that was still burning. "My name is Mark."
"What brigade are you from?" I asked without thinking, maybe I knew the alpha. My question seemed to take him by surprise, he looked at me curiously and smiled sideways.
"And what do you know about that?" I heard him laugh softly. "What's your name, little pup?"
I felt smoke coming out of my ears, my face felt hot and I bit my tongue out of sheer respect.
"Samantha," I said reluctantly. "Excuse me, my alpha will be coming soon. I don't want any misunderstandings with him so... The shorter our conversation, the better it will be. What can I do to make it up to you?"
He got up and looked around slowly at every corner of the small cabin, looked at old photos and his gaze lingered on the weapons. "Are these yours?"
"No, they belong to my alpha," I said hating how that sounded. "Who will be coming soon," I continued pressing, but he seemed not to understand my message.
"These weapons need some love," he grimaced, shaking his head, he looked at me and I lowered my head. "And about what you should do for me, I'll think about it carefully. If we meet again I'll tell you," he approached dangerously towards me, his height towering over me by about three heads. "But you should pray we don't meet again, little pup."
That tone of voice sounded threatening. My alarms went off, but I relaxed when he walked away and left with all the calm in the world.
