Shower

The library was huge. It held all the knowledge of the continent and of course, it was administered by the guardians of knowledge: the elves. "Why are we here, Leon?" Maria asks, bored. They are supposed to be on a date. They should be on the coast, walking on the shores, enjoying the sea. "Welcome to the library of Hannah, sir Leon, lady Mallorem," the elf female greets them. She has blue eyes, long straight silver hair, and a fair complexion, voluptuous, and beautiful. "Today, I'm honored to help you in whatever you need." "Thank you," Leon answers. "I'm looking for myths, legends, and anything about creatures which live on the blood of other creatures." "Is this about your goblin mission?" Maria says disappointed. "I thought you said you had everything covered!" "It's not about it," he responds. "It's about something more problematic." "Oh! I know what this about!" she counters. "It's about Lohan's tale!" "I need to be sure," he adds. Maria sighs, annoyed, but she didn't tell him that she had nightmares of those monsters from Lohan's story. "This is the loveliest date ever," she declares. "Maria…" he lets out. "I promise this won't take too long, so please, just a few minutes? Yes? If you say no we're leaving." "We're already here, do your thing," she rolls her eyes. "If you are in a hurry I can search for the information you need and send a notification when it's ready," says the elf librarian with a gentle smile. "I would be immensely grateful if you do so," Leon says. "I'm looking for these." He gives her a note, and she reads it. "Understood, sir," the elf says. "Thank you," he ends and they leave the place. Maria is silent, but she is holding his hand. "Was it that bad?" he asks. "I don't like books," she answers. "Why?" he replies. "They are boring," she explains. He giggles. "You know? Knowledge is power and knowledge is written in the books," he comments. She sighs. "Yeah, whatever…" Leon chuckles. They arrive at the beach. The crystalline water allows a gorgeous view of the sea creatures and the bottom near the shores; the sand is white, the sky blue with no clouds. There is vegetation behind them. The place is a paradise. They remove their clothes and jump on the water. The temperature is perfect. "Ah! It's so cold!" she lets out, embracing him. He kisses her. "Liar," he whispers. "Now it's perfect," she says, smiling. "Catch me if you can." She jumps beyond his reach and starts swimming, increasing the distance from the shore. He follows her. She is fast but he traps her. Their lips join. They are happy. "What do you mean, Leon?" Davis asks. "I have to go to the library," Leon repeats. "I've been summoned." "You don't need the library, that's the job of the wizards," the knight says. "We only need training." "All the techniques of fencing that you teach are written in books, and those books are in the library," Leon says. "You should've asked, Leon," Davis says. "I'd gladly teach you the advanced techniques. But you are not going there because of fencing, are you?" Leon already knew the advanced techniques and better ones. He had dominated ten percent of the techniques of the lords of hell before he ended in the world of Oria, and those were similar but far superior to human fencing. As a result, he was invincible, in theory. He was still undefeated in practice. "This has to do with my job, lord Davis," he explains. "I pretend to discover why the previous holy knight betrayed the kingdom." Davis turns pale. "That's forbidden knowledge! The library shouldn't be giving you that information!" he points out, angry. "Oh!" Leon replies. "I'm a holy knight, my lord. They can give us whatever we want, and the wizards have approved." "What?" Davis is confused. "Why?" "I'm learning about beasts of myths," Leon replies, walking away. "This will be a mistake, Leon," Davis says. "I'm warning you. That path is dangerous." "We know what gets into when we choose to accept these swords," Leon declares, touching his beautiful crimson rapier. Davis sighs. "You can go only if you defeat Rodrigo," he declares. Rodrigo is the best swordsman of all the footmen. "If you do you can leave this place and become a bookworm." The fight doesn't last long. Leon truly wants to see what the librarian has found. Not that he didn't know about vampires, but he needs an excuse to justify that knowledge. He needs to convince himself that it's not because he comes from hell, but maybe because of a blessing. He can't accept that he is a demon because if he is then everything is real. Everything. Aside from that, it is also the fact that the knights and the church are jealous and fearful of any new knowledge that they can't understand. They prefer to destroy the unknown. Many innocent people have died because of it. Leon leaves them in silence. The messenger is waiting. She's a wizard. It takes them ten minutes to arrive at the library. It is a big white building very similar to the cathedral and it's filled with books. All stories of men and elves have been held there since the time before men had their own realm. The crystals of the windows are decorated with images of the gods and angels, creatures that the church has never seen but whose existence they defend, stating that evil creatures like the yetis, lycanthropes, snakes, and demons exist, so god and his angels should exist too. Leon laughs at that reasoning. He knows that their gods exist, but he also knows that they are more than what humans thought. The books the librarian found are very interesting. They speak of ancient demons, of angels, but not so much of vampires. The only mention about them is in the tale of the mad elven king Lorain. The tale goes of the blood lord calling for aid to fight a horror that not even the dragon lords could withstand alone. The elves answered and they fought hordes of wicked beings said to be corrupted humans, along with those humans that resisted the corruption, but in the end, it was not enough and the god of the forest appeared and fought the monstrosity that wanted to corrupt all the existence. "The god was defeated?" Leon asks. "That's how the tale goes," the wizard says. Leon keeps reading. He learns that the blood lord and the elves, and dragons, and all living beings and undead in the continent joined their forces and managed to defeat the monstrosity, but the price was too high. "King Lorain told the tale before dying," the wizard says. "He was the only survivor. We haven't heard of vampires, dragons, or anything like that since then. We believe it's just a myth." "Thank you so much," he says to the librarian. The night has fallen. "I'm happy that you've found what you wanted," the woman says. Leon nods, closing the last book. Only seven books. "Is there any book that I'm not allowed to see?" he asks just out of curiosity. "Only one," she replies. "What should I do to get permission?" he asks. "Only our holiness the high Cardinal could grant you such permission," she replies. "Thanks for the information," he says. "Could you do me a favor?" "Anything," she replies. "Write in a paper all the weaknesses of the creatures in this list, the places where they live, describe the sounds they make, the shape of their footprints," he says, giving her the list he has written. "That will take time," she declares, reading the list. "I know, and don't worry about the payment," he says. "Why don't you take a bestiary?" the wizard suggests. "Vampires, demons, imps, devils, fallen angels, yetis, and werewolves," he says. "Creatures that no man can defeat alone." "I see what you want now," she replies. "I will assist you, Anissa." "I'd appreciate it, miss Marissa," the elf answers. "Make sure it's made of resistant materials," Leon adds. "It needs to withstand bad weather." "It will, sir Leon," they answer. Leon gets home at ten in the night and Maria is waiting, a little pissed off. "Where have you been?" she begins. "In the library," he answers, taking his clothes off. "You've missed dinner," she points out, sharp and cold. He grins, knowing she has thrown his dinner into the garbage. "Did I?" he lets out, piercing her with his eyes. She gulps. "You are wonderfully dressed all nights… my love." She gulps again. She is sitting on the loveseat, legs crossed, wearing a red low-cut lace dress, bare feet. He walks towards her. A predator. "Oh no, no no, big guy," she says, raising a hand like a queen. "That's not going to happen today! I'm pissed off! And you need a shower first!" "Do I?" he is smirking, with that stare that gives her chills. "I-I'm still angry! You've been all day long with that woman of pointy ears," she lets out, jealous. He grins. He is very satisfied, enjoying her jealousy. He lifts her in his arms like a feather, putting a wide smile on her pretty face. "Put me down now, you i***t! You stink!" she says, not meaning it at all. "Do I?" he replies, sniffing her smell. "Stop doing that!" she complains. Her arms are his neck. "You are an idiot." He grins and tries to kiss her. She dodges the attempt. "That witch is after you and you didn't notice," she says. "And you spend the day with her not telling me about it!" "More like I spent the day in the books than with her, and this wizard was with me all the time," he says. "You sent her, didn't you?" "I had to protect my virgin boyfriend," she says. He laughs and takes her to the shower. "I love you, little creature," he says. "I hate you, i***t," she responds. "But I missed you all day. And I was tempted to call some company…" "Now it's me who feels jealous," he says. "Well, that's how it feels, enjoy it," she adds, all sassy. "Oh, my little girl," he whispers, joining his forehead to hers. "You don't have any idea of how much I've missed you…" "You silly," she says. "You should have told me!" "I'm sorry?" he grins. "I don't think you are," she says, grinning. "You are a bad boy, after all." "Very bad," he says. "And for that, you won't have what you want tonight," she says. "What I want?" he replicates. "Am I the one who wants it?" "I- nice try, but don't," she says, putting on a severe expression "Stop right there. I'm so angry, for real." "Are you?" he teases her, making her grin. "Stop!" she says, but she's very comfortable in his arms. He kisses her again. "Oh, hell!" she says. "I hate you for this, Leon! I hate you!" She gasps for air as he kisses her neck. "I haven't missed dinner," he whispers, devouring her with his eyes as her dress falls trying not to fall. He doesn't waste time and puts his hand on her and caresses the perfection of her delicate features, anxiously, lovingly. "You are my life, Maria Mallorem. I would never betray you... I'm all yours…" She moans looking at him with intensity as his hands go down, between her amazing legs. She bites her lip. They enter the shower. It is her second shower of the night.
