I jerked awake, the sound of a purring growl vibrating through me. It wasn’t me that was growling though. It was dark now, the sun long set but the sky was blotted out by a very large silhouette beside me. My night vision soon kicked in and I realized with a relieved sigh it was only Belle. I had fallen asleep in her large arm, and she had wrapped herself around me. It was a sight I never thought I would see. I was being protected by a dragon, and her presence had somehow allowed me to sleep mostly dreamlessly. Though I did remember a nightmare involving Phoenix I just couldn’t remember what it was about.
